A bunch of new torrents. by Mouser X at 8:25 PM EST on December 4, 2005
There's a bunch of new torrents up. Two Bomberman games, Megaman X8 (uploaded by Sir-Sabin, torrented by me), Bust a Move 3000 (also upped by Sir-Sabin), Hello Kitty Roller Rescue (Also upped by Sir-Sabin), and Phantasy Star Online 1&2.

If you don't want to use the torrents, there's Rapidshare links for all 3 of the sets uploaded by Sir-Sabin. However, I only have links for Megaman X8 right now (I don't keep logs of the chat...). You can find the links in the comments of the torrents. Please enjoy! Mouser X over and out.

Thanks a million for ED Emil!, I'll keep my reseeds up for those that want them to help out!

Do you know - is the Metroid Prime DSP rip a prelim rip? It appears to be missing some tracks :

Title Screen, Save Select Screen?

Or am I missing something? Or are they non-dsp?

Thx, Q;

The "missing" tracks aren't DSP. They're RSF, and HCS has no way to figure out how to play them. And, there's actually 4. Title screen, menu screen, Samus special, and Credits. If you want, you can find the missing tracks here.

Just so you know, support for the RSF files is unlikely, but it is certainly wanted. If you read through the in_dsp thread, this has already been discussed. So, no, it's not a prelim rip. It's got everything that's worth sending. I hope that helps and answers your question. Mouser X over and out.

Those Metroid Prime tracks are non-dsp.

Also, I noticed a reeealy slight problem still in Fire Emblem, in "gcfe bgm evt heron2 32k.dsp" during the 24th second (and again at 49 seconds) there is a slight "dit" in the left channel. It is only noticable because there is silence during the loop.

Well the position seems to have been filled. :)

on a semi-related note, I've updated my list I'm not sure whether it should be in the plugin or distro thread...

EDIT: I just realised something on visiting the tracker page... You upload the files to the tracker? I thought a tracker just had info to download a file from a seed, I didn't think you could actually upload files to it... I might be able to just upload any rips to it? I won't be able to seed though.

This Friday, I'm going to be seeding the Zelda WW AW streams to those who want to play around with them.

PokeParadox: The tracker only takes the *.torrent file for upload. It needs this file to know what it's supposed to keep track of. So, no, you can't really upload anything to it, except for the torrent file so that people can download it, and so that the tracker can keep track of it. I hope that answers any questions you may have had. Mouser X out.
RSF by Qube at 11:18 AM EST on December 5, 2005
Thanks for the info Mouser X, I guess this RSF must be some in-house Retro Studios File format perhaps? I did manage to open frontend_1.rsf in Audacity as raw and you can kinda hear the title music with the data noise too (8bit signed, 8khz, no endiness), I guess someone smart will probably have to debug some gamecube player code to figure it out eek! :\

Wannabe DSP rippers can fetch a Gamecube image file extractor here.

I use this often and it works perfectly.

On the subject of AW...

It seems most AFC files have a 0xF byte header.
I have freely guessed the following bytes:

0x00-0x03 = Loop End
0x04-0x07 = Loop Start
0x08-0x09 = Sample Rate
0x0A-0x0F = unknown as of this writing

AW files themselves are composed of a sequence and (probably) headered samples.

hcs has a copy of the Wind Waker DOL, so it should give him some data to work with to figure some stuff out.

In the meantime, just get DSPs!

(updated versions of the AW format documentation can be found at http://unknown.halleyscometsoftware.com/gc.)
