Ok, we're up and running on the new db server. Hopefully there won't be anymore trouble. And I hadn't remembered that UF uses the same login script I do so all is well.
unknownfile runs an alternate version of the forums that has some extra features, but it uses the same database. I have the code for logging in to the database in a separate file so that I can publish the forum source unmodified without publishing the database login and password. uf's modded forum, rather than duplicating the login information, simply refers to my primary login script. Josh (who also runs an alternate frontend) can't necessarily do the same, as he is not in the same account, while uf shares my account.
