Megaman X7 ripped by DChronos at 12:19 AM EDT on March 29, 2009
Here's the damn rip. 181 Mb, 26 tracks, 16 english cut scenes and 16 japanese cut scenes. Megaman X7 music
Only one mistake I made, I labeled the folder and format in the text file as being [PS2 (GENH)] and PS2 AdPCM, since it's PS2 AdPCM in genh, and forgot the extensions were .ads. Someone can just change that.
Is there a list of what music is ripped? I have 250+ PS2 games, and have a few others I'd like to use some free time to get the music from, and if it's not ripped, maybe I'll post it. I already had some from Ar Tonelico II that I didn't have to mess with much.
By the way, Knurek, since I don't put up with bullshit attempts to slam me, it's dumb to respond by: -stating the wrong number of times I asked about the loop start, and understating the answers -stating that I ignored all your answers (yep, all one of them) after ignoring the entire part where I said that I misunderstood, and told you why, and also by blowing off the questions I asked... and I'd like to include that all the 4096 genh header junk that went on right after that, which I did not ask anything about, also led me to believe you both thought I was asking about that, and not the 40 byte file header -saying I wondered why people are pissed when, no, it was about the jackass remarks -implying I had made a big deal about things that were done with on the first page, and in fact, the bullshit didn't start until your jackass remark. Manako got pissed for something small, which was something I figured out while making the 120+ song files last year, and hadn't been wrong. It was dumb. Then he falsely accused me of making threats and saying his rips are flat out wrong -and finally, for both you and bxaimc, saying I said I know better than you / have more experience after I posted saying I don't have much experience, I just know what I'm doing in general.
As for experience and knowledge about it, if I knew already, I wouldn't have made a thread asking about anything I wanted to learn about while ripping these so I knew why things were the way they were and what numbers were the right ones to plug in. I started the thread to have a well mannered discussion about the technical stuff to help me figure out all I needed to do, and asked a lot of questions I was curious about, expecting decent replies, not assy responses.
On a final note, you can't tell me that converting a hex number and plugging it into a program, using some trial and error and educated guesses, requires any real experience. Once you've learned how to rip these and use the right numbers one time, you're done. You know. One does not need to know the intricacies of how the program plays the music or about unrelated formats to do this.
I learned what numbers to plug into genh, and that's it. I learned how to handle the headers, and that's it. I know enough now to manually create a header, at least for a couple formats. I don't know everything.
At the same time, I don't need people acting like jackasses instead of being decent (you know, acting like an adult, you do know how to do that, right?) and informative. Flipping on jackass mode after one misunderstood answer is ridiculous, and continuing after I explained why I got screwed up, even moreso.
I could have gone into jackass mode in the same stupid manner after your misunderstanding my question about tagging these. I didn't say anything about tagging in the header. You had a way you tagged/labeled these sets for well over a year and a half, you should have understood the question. But I didn't. I asked again decently, and explained to avoid the mistake again. It was only one misunderstood answer.
Now, I'm done with the crap. I'm sorry I'm so tired that I didn't get it right away, and that I am busy with more important things to do that made it take a week. Take the rip and do what you want with it.
EDIT: After listening through these, I want to punch whoever chose and did the voice acting for Axel and a few others in the English scenes...
I just had a thought, I shoulda thanked you in the text file, UF, for motivating me to get better rips as soon as I got this game. This is some of the best music on my player, and wanted the Highway stage and Conflict stage songs to listen to forever.
Quality isn't the greatest, though, makes me kinda want to take those 2 from my OST Flac files and make them looped.
The whole set from one AFS file is over 1Gb, and I think there's some others. There are tons of others for both English and JP voices, as well as SFX, and movie files. I'll have to upload that in a bunch of chunks or something.
The real problem with this set is that I have no idea what the names of most songs are. I got the OST, which I haven't opened yet, and there's a bunch of other soundtracks as well. I haven't even put the game in yet, either, since, like the rest of all these games I got, I just have a bunch of other things on my mind that I have to do, and that all gets in the way. Sometimes I don't get around to playing anything for 8 months... too tired, too stressed, too much else on my mind.
For these songs, I know 1 of them, which had an opening section, which is another track, and they used it on their very impressive website: wm_03.adx I'm sure is the title screen music, though they had it set up to play the intro, which led into the music at a very obvious part at the end of this track, and THEN got into the song.
All in all, though, these are some really great songs with a very unique style. I chose the best ones, in my opinion. There's a bunch that have voices in them, too, and sound like they came right from the original GITS.
Well, that's nice. Where can I get 1, and 2 tagged?
I'd also like to see and make sure there's nothing different in this US release of the game, because I only just received the English release from preordering it back in October 2008 a few weeks ago, and the rip says the JP one was released clear back in '07.
I do know of some of these JP games sometimes have new things added when it's re-released here.
EDIT:
After looking through the list, I saw one I could do, already got sound, but it's all stuffed into individual bin files for each game.
I'll rip and loop Megaman X Collection, mainly to get X4, 5, and 6's songs, because I have to say, X1, 2, and 3 definately do not sound as good as the SNES originals... but I'll still get them.
EDIT 2: Actually, now it seems that these files are actually those dual sound with L and R audio. I don't know what it sounds like together yet, so I don't know if it really sounds as crappy as it did.

Yes, I know already, I saw after I posted my post right before bxaimc said that. I just skimmed the thread when I came to post it, because I had already been ready to post. I saw you posted the list, but hadn't gotten it yet.
Also, since nobody had said it was done already after what I said at the top of my first post in this thread, right after the list request you saw:
"Is there a list of what music is ripped? I have 250+ PS2 games, and have a few others I'd like to use some free time to get the music from, and if it's not ripped, maybe I'll post it. I already had some from Ar Tonelico II that I didn't have to mess with much."
I assumed it wasn't done, since noone said it was, and posted my post before I got the list.
That's why I checked over them already to see Megaman X Collection wasn't done for either system and said I could do that one instead. I also asked where I could get Ar Tonelico 1 and 2, and said I could check the English files against the JP ones, see if there's anything different. I already pulled em off the disc and have been listening to them while working on stuff, so it wouldn't be any work to see if there's any new ones, if I can get the tagged set to compare and keep.
If there happened to be any new or different ones on the English disc (2009, as opposed to the 2007 JP release), I'd just label them the same way as the ones that are done already, but say something about English only, and post them to let you do what you want with them.
In any case, is there a torrent up somewhere that I could get Ar Tonelico I and II from? Really great music for working at the PC.
And thank you very much for the list, Manako. ^_^
EDIT: Oh, yeah, and I decided last night to just leave that post there for people that wanna hear what the music is like. I can't delete the upload anyway, so whoever wants to check out a few nice songs, already looped and stuff (didn't have to do anything), then go ahead and get the file, see if you like the music.
Sorry, this is kinda why I was wondering if there was a single place to read about all this stuff, like ripping notes, if you got any, on what you had to do to rip something, or anything that would be helpful.
