A certain 2SF I can't seem to find by TheBigL1 at 10:21 PM EDT on April 10, 2009
I've been looking around for collections of 2SF rips, including the one here and the one on Arc-Nova, but none of them have a rip of Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time/Darkness, despite having a rip of Blue Rescue Team. Is this because Time and Darkness recycle the soundtrack from Blue Rescue Team (of which I'm fairly doubtful), or has no one gotten around to ripping them yet? Anyway, I'd love it if somebody could make one.

Explorers of Time/Darkness(and presumably Sky as well)don't have music, just scripts telling it what to play.

What exactly does that mean? There's nothing that can be extracted as 2SF files?

Hmm, I think I'll give it a try.

Second Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games use a custom music driver, and as such would require someone with NDS hacking knowledge.

Well that's a bummer. I don't know anything about hacking, much less DS hacking, so I guess I'd need to either have someone help with that, or just record all the tracks straight with a double-male audio cable. Thanks for the info, though.

Rule of thumb: if it's popular, someone will more than likely rip it. I can bet that it will be done, just as DP and Platinum was done, and I remember seeing messages way back saying those were using a custom driver, and weren't ripped because they couldn't figure out how to play it.

The thing is, Diamond/etc uses standard Nintendo files, just didn't work (properly) with Yoshi's Island driver version. So only thing needed was using a newer version of the music library.

This isn't the case here, it's a completely different music system. Which means it will require someone with NDS hacking knowledge figuring out the game and hacking it to just play the music.

Not something you can expect done fast... And truth to be told, I'd prefer if someone would be doing custom driver rips that they do Procyon Studio custom driver first, because that has games with much better music IMO (Luminous Arc 1-2, Layton 2-3, Soma Bringer, Shiren 2, World Destruction, Inazuma Eleven).
