How can I rip samples from GYM songs? by SolaceEternal at 11:19 AM EDT on August 5, 2009
Title. I'd like to see a GYM equivilent of openspc, but I doubt one exists.

genesis music is all synthesis with the exception of the PCM channel, so aside from the odd bit of percussion there's no other samples that can be ripped. i think there's one or two trackers that support VGM file importing and can read FM instrument settings. wouldn't mind learning about that, myself... the FM programming on Treasure's mega drive games is excellent (particularly Alien Soldier), would be great to write some new music using those.

I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for, but I came across it today and was reminded of this thread: Soundshock Forums.

@Lunar: Along the same lines of this, do you by any chance still have the SPC SoundFonts you made?

(I stumbled accross your old thread, and the links didn't work anymore =( )
