That ugetab Pokémom Silver GBS... by Koto at 3:01 PM EST on November 9, 2009
...Plays so fast.

In ugetab's web there's a Pokémon Golden/Silver GBS that plays accelerated. There's someway to make it play normally (Someway easy to make for someone who doesn't know about programming)? Or a modified GBS?

Thanks guys :)

Use Nezplug++ for winamp.

Newest Version: http://offgao.no-ip.org/program/nezplug++.html
Install Instructions: http://www.angelfire.com/nc/ugetab/nezplug.html

It's just plain better than the old Nezplug, if only because even I found things that needed to be improved...such as the Speed switch not being reported to the underlying GBS code. That caused enough GBC ripping errors by itself.

hm, now this has been brought up, the heartgold & soulsilver OST was released recently, so it might be cool to retag the GBS set (and indeed 2SF set) accordingly. anyone got the OST?

No way for make it sound propperly in Meridian? I preffer that GBS player than Nezplug, sounds more clean.

Thanks anyway :)

I'd suggest: Fix meridian. If it doesn't play right, it's because meridian doesn't emulate a portion of the GB's functions correctly.

Since I can't find source code for it, you're likely to be stuck with correctly ripped sets that don't sound right. Without source code, this can't be fixed.

That's all.

You're still using Meridian? Which one? Meridian "Classic" (the original version, it works poorly on XP. At least for me), Meridian Advance, Meridian Prime (the "custom skin version" (it never got very far)), or the in_gbs Winamp plugin (which is/was made by the creator of Meridian)?

Regardless of which one you use, I *VERY* strongly suggest you get something else. I used Meridian for years (I loved it. Still do in many ways), but I can say that, by now, there are a multitude of options open to you for GBS playback that do *at least* as good as Meridian, and usually better. For a long time, in_gbs sounded better than NEZplug++. However, that's not longer the case, as NEZplug++ fixed the issues I was having. Give it a try, at least. Meridian is seriously ancient in this day and age. It was great for its time (as I said, it's one of my favorite programs. I still have it installed), but today, there's better tools available to you.

As for a lack of source code, that's exactly why Meridian doesn't exist anymore. The creator had multiple HDD crashes, and lost the source code every time (you'd think he'd learn!). Which is also why there's 3/4 different "flavors" of Meridian. I even made multiple skins for the program (both the "Classic" and Advance versions). I had fun with it while it lasted.

Anyway, seriously, try something else. Development has improved in many aspects. If there's something you don't like about NEZplug, over Meridian, chances are that (by now) Meridian is the one with less accurate emulation. What, specifically, is it you like about Meridian, over NEZplug? Mouser X over and out.

"What, specifically, is it you like about Meridian, over NEZplug?"

The sound, simply. I try both plugins for Winamp and NEZplug++ sounds worst to me.

I'm trying Audio Overload right now and sounds good, but I don't know how to export to WAV the different files of a GBS. I can only "rec" the first songs, the other is impossible :/

I accept alternatives to Meridian, but I doesn't like NEZplug++ too much. Thanks everyone.

You didn't answer my first question. Which version of Meridian are you using? (I strongly doubt it's the Prime version, as I don't recall that one having GBS support) I'm curious, because I'd like to try a comparison between NEZplug++, the real gameboy (the original), and Meridian (the version you're using). I want to hear what it is specifically you're after (I still have the installers to all released versions of Meridian, so there's a *very* good chance that I have the version you're using). Hopefully you'll check back in this thread, as I'd like to know how Audio Overload works out for you. Mouser X over and out.

I answer you, not directally xD

"I try both plugins for Winamp and NEZplug++ sounds worst to me".

I use the in_gbs plugin :P

Audio Overload sounds similar to in_gbs, so it's ok for me. Now, can someone answer to this question?

"I don't know how to export to WAV the different files of a GBS. I can only "rec" the first songs, the other is impossible :/"
