Odd Video File (*.sfd) by pietastesgood at 11:54 PM EST on January 28, 2010
Hi,

Bayonetta x360 utilizes the sfd codec for its fmv's. Most of these convert fine with sfd2mpg, however a few of them do not. Here is one of them:

I can't seem to find out why, plus the GUI version, which I had downloaded before and was working, doesn't work anymore...

I have tried both the GUI and CMD versions.

Could someone take a look at this one?

Much appreciated and thanks in advance. ;)

sfd is a multiplexed streams container format. sfd2mpg expects the sfd contains a m1v video stream and a sound stream in adx format.
there's a program called tmpgenc that is capable of demultiplexing both streams. If you start that program, you have to press file, mpeg tools and in this window you have to load the file in the de-multiplex tab(you have to select *.* as filetype since sfd is not in the shown) and double click the video stream for the video and double click the audio stream for the audio.
I used it on the file you provided and the file format is an aix(the new version of adx) and therefore sfd2mpg doesn't work.

If you have trouble doing it yourself i'll upload the files for you. I used this myself to extract all adx's from sfd's from most SEGA games for my vgm collection and throwing away the video afterwards.

fwiw aix (interleaved adx) is used instead of plain adx because plain adx only supports mono and stereo, I assume this video has 6 channel sound.

Aha, thanks! Seemed to work fine on the file I had uploaded, I'll check on the rest when I return home.

surprised hcs didnt nag about sfd being a container

It's not a container so much as a transport. I guess.
