Gamecube startup Subliminal? by nensondubois at 10:05 AM EST on February 23, 2010
I felt that this was interesting enough to make it's own topic:

Someone else just recently discovered this :(

The Gamecube menu ambiance music, if sped up 25x unveils the Famicom Disk System jingle.

I didn't even know the GAMECUBE startup sound was a meme.

Other than that, my guess would be that the sounds are all sequenced. Toru Minegishi once said that the startup sound was created by him. The other two are probably by him as well, as could be the menu theme (though that is a variation of the "Disk System Theme", as mentioned).

sorry brah, it's sequenced. probably jaudio or something, shouldn't be too hard to decode the samples.

ok, then let me correct myself.
now we just need UF to dump the bios with his modded gamecube & have UF write a decoder/hack it/etc
