Check the included readme file for information on the additional required files that newer versions depend on and how to install them.

I'm using revision r790 which works.

I think your version was around the time the external files had to be added. As Franpa said the readme should have a link to them.

As others have mentioned, re-read the readme. There's now a 3rd dependency.

I didn't put the files in the Windows folder.I had them just in the C: directory.Everything works great, thanks you.On a similar note, I updated VGMStream to listen to the Earthworm Jim HD rip.Majority of the tracks are just noise, and I thought updating would help, but no avail, any ideas.

one of these days someone should rewrite stuff so stuff runs through LoadLibrary instead of using imports

it would reduce complaints like this

or use delay loaded DLLs
by hcs at 5:19 AM EDT on June 19, 2010
dynamic loading would be optimal, especially since these dlls are probably not needed for 90% of folks. I just don't know exactly how to implement it, and 'static' linking is easy.
by kokujin at 6:40 AM EDT on June 21, 2010
So the noise is supposed to happen?
by hcs at 11:09 AM EDT on June 21, 2010
No, the Earthworm Jim HD rip is not in any way supported in vgmstream, it is XMA, which despite much prodding is not yet included. If it plays at all that is a bug, I'll look into fixing it.
Btw, in case you were wondering, that's not what the 'static' in 'static linking' means.
by Mouser X at 2:51 AM EDT on June 22, 2010
HCS: You've probably already realized this by now, but more than likely, when kokujin plays the XMA files in Winamp, Winamp plays them using the "default" plugin, which usually means it attempts to play the file as an MP3. In other words, I very much doubt that VGMstream is playing the XMA files, and that this "bug" isn't going to be fixed very easily via VGMstream. Well, unless you put a "dummy" XMA "recognizer" in VGMstream, so that Winamp will send the XMA to VGMstream. Then, instead of playing the file, it could output an error message that says something like "XMA files are not currently supported. If you would like to add support for this format, please follow this link."

Yes, my post probably wasn't terribly helpful, but I thought I'd mention it just in case. I didn't want you to attempt fixing a bug that isn't really there. Mouser X over and out.

If he has vgmstream installed it will pick up .xwb files, since we have support for single sample ones. We probably don't do a good enough job of detecting the codec, though.

@Mouser: The winamp mp3 plugin can only process files with standard mp3 chunks in it, so unless xma has the same header structure nothing would be heard.

Sorry to bother,
I can't play Sonic's 4 .aax... What plugin should I use? I think I have one of the latest vgmstream test release...
