New Encrypted FSB Format (Xbox360)? by placedo at 3:19 AM EDT on September 8, 2010
recently got a new game for the 360 & went to extract the audio files but before you can do any of that process, you have to decrypt them, i tried using guessfsb 0.3 on all of them but no success so not sure if they are using a different kind of scheme for the keys, but there still FSB4 files as the sfx in the game are not decrypted & the header was the same as any other multichannel FSB4 files so assume these are too.

here's a link to the fsb4 files in the game.

is there any chance of an update to guessfsb to get these decrypted or is it quite complicated?

thanks again to everyone here for their help.

I'd like to point out that guessfsb is just an automated way to do it, usually/previously fsb keys are worked out by hand, and guessfsb relies on a couple of assumptions that a clever inspection can work around.
In any case, the megaupload link isn't working for me, so who knows.

how strange, the link should be working?

"The file you are trying to access is temporarily unavailable."

Been that way for a few hours.

same thing. I can only guess that whatever mirror I'm getting is screwed up.

feel free to delete any of the older posts from this thread as i'm taking them up, but try this one, it uploads the file to a load of servers, hopefully one of them won't be on the fritz :)

Ok, got it. At this point I can pretty much just confirm that I don't know what's going on. It'd be nice to have a hex editor with, say, Lua support, so I could just poke at this and see what patterns arise.

i'll have a look at the other file's associated with them & see if there the key is contained in any of them, doubt i'll have any luck as i'm no good at this sort of thing & thanks for looking into it, i couldn't see any patterns after looking at it at all, but as i said, i'm really bad at this sort of thing

ahh, right, someone informs me this is aes encryption so i have no idea where i go from here, that's pretty hardcore right?

oh, these are from the guitar hero 6 demo by the way :)

If it is AES then yes, it isn't something I can work out from the files.

no worries, thanks for trying though :)
