Redbook audio stream rips by Pixel_Crusher at 9:13 AM EDT on July 22, 2011
So I was thinking about ripping redbook audio streams from whatever I got for Saturn and PSX.

That said, what's the best application for ripping them with no audio loss (FLAC?) and what are the recommended ripping settings?

You can use Exact Audio Copy.
There is a lot of tutorials about how to properly ripping CD to FLAC for EAC.

here are some interesting guides:
Global Noises - EAC Setting up

Hydrogen Audio - EAC Guides.

FLAC is a compressor, not a ripper... use Exact Audio Copy for your rips, and if you plan to release them please include a log always:

I've been doing a couple of test ripping using redump.org's guide (section: Dumping audio tracks with EAC), and things seem to be getting along pretty smoothly :).

Is there any post ripping jobs that need to be done on the redbook audio files before uploading them to the tracker and to our future streamed music database (that one that used to be around before the HCS64 server host had gone down)

Generally the less you do to the audio rip the better. We like em as pure as possible (that is, usually 100% pure:).

FLAC is an exception because it's a lossless format, so it can always be used to go back to the pure file if one wanted. Other than filename or FLAC tagging (which is not necessary but certainly appreciated), there's not much else anyone would want you to do, I think.
