Converting file trouble by DaP3ach at 8:30 AM EDT on May 25, 2012
I am trying to convert .smp files to .wav or even .mp3....I have tried the file program but all i can do know is listen to them in winamp.

Any suggestions on how to run the cmd prompt to export these?

Thanks

Go to the preferences in Winamp, and under the Output section, there should be a Nullsoft Disk Writer Plugin. You can configure that to export the songs wherever you want.

Is there another way?

You can run the test.exe program, that will produce a .wav. See the readme for details, but as a quick example:

test.exe -o out.wav in.smp

You need to run this from the command prompt.

No offence, but what the hell is so hard about going to the Preferences in Winamp, and selecting the DiskWriter plugin in the output section?
