Super Dragon Ball Z (PS2) ADPCM files not playing correctly? by James at 1:29 AM EDT on August 8, 2012

Ripped using VGMtoolbox's ADPCM extractor. Every audio file plays in this fashion. Is there a specific method to getting these files to play correctly? It seems like it might be a pain in the ass to get legitimate rips from source of this game.

First, VGMToolbox's Sony ADPCM ripper is really only useful for mono data. It doesn't handle stereo data well and usually results in improper rips (missing the first block of the first channel). I've removed it from the tool before, but some people use it to rip voices and sfx, so I put it back. In any case, I wouldn't use it to rip stereo music.

Second, for raw Sony ADPCM it's easiet to create a GENH file and experiment with the interleave to determine the correct settings. With practice, you'll be able to identify interleave by sight in a hex editor.
