MK64 composer info by Lunar at 6:07 AM EST on December 10, 2005
I just noticed something regarding the Mario Kart 64 rip. The composers are wrong. The rip credits Koji Kondo and Hajime Wakai. Koji Kondo certainly did not compose for the game, and I very much doubt Hajime Wakai had anything to do with it. I am certain that it is infact Kenta Nagata that composed for MK64.
I hope it's not too late, though I guess it is. Thought I should point that out anyway.
I wanted to know if there would be any plans to change the incorrect information in the set. If there was, I'd hold off on changing information in the copy I have, but if there isn't any chance of that happening, I can go about my business.
What initially comes to mind is that he was credited due to the use of the invincible star music. Though you could be right there. In any case, I'm guessing the answer is no, so I'll go ahead and correct it in the copy I have.
Aye, Bando has done SFX/sound engineering side of things for many games. Unfortunately he's only actually composed for those two games - I'm guessing Super Mario Kart was mostly composed for by Soyo Oka anyway though.
Righty. I have updated tags + batch files for Mario Kart now.
For one track I credited Koji Kondo aswell as Kenta Nagata (Star Theme.. obvious reasons), although I couldn't work out what I was doing wrong with the batch file. I assume there'd be a way to have it edit all the files with Kenta Nagata, then edit just that one file and change it afterwards... all in one file... but I don't know about all that. I suppose the other option would be to just not bother crediting Kondo, but blah.
Ok, I put Lunar's modified tags up. The only change I made was the date in the info.txt, 'round here we put the month first when writing dates numerically (thus 09/10/06, not 10/09/06).
