DSP (Actuallt STM) problem by whatSSID? at 9:17 AM EST on February 5, 2006
The Fire embem:PoR audio rip in DSP won't play correctly. Added the in_cube winamp plugin and tried playing the .dsp files. It buffers for ages and plays about 2 seconds then winamp crashes.
Using latest release of in_cube. no idea what's wrong.
I'll check, but as soon as the Download finishes, well one of the files.
EDIT: I used ver .18 beta 3. And I played "gcfe_bgm_fase_help_32k.dsp" with no problems.
I'll check the other DSPs as they Download from the torrent.

EDIT 2: No Problems on "gcfe_bgm_dead1_32k.dsp" which is 1.26MB. It could be a large file that may make it crash but sofar no problems. I will test a larger file sofar its all about 1.5 MB files that are or almost done.

EDIT 3: I played "gcfe_bgm_rbh_sng1_32k.dsp" the largest song, and no problems.
Which version of Winamp [Currently 5.13] do you have and what is your Hardware?
There's a beta 4 out, that's in the in_dsp thread but not linked on the in_cube page yet. Is that the version you're using, whatSSID? I'm still not home yet so I'm unable to test it...
True X Unknown: Off the top of my head the hardware is a AMD (I think) 1.3GHz CPU, probably 512Mb RAM and a 30GB HD running windows XP Professional. (I am really not 100% sure, it's my dads comp. I use a Mac) And I am using the latest version of Winamp.
hcs: I'm using the Latest in_cube, once I get home tonight I'll give the in_DSP a go. See if that works.
I wasn't suggesting to give in_dsp a try, it is just the older version of in_cube before I rolled in ADX and ADP. The thread was made back then and I never changed the name.

Also, I tested it and it seems to work fine... fun with debugging.
Ah, yes, this may be a result of the low latency requirements. It reads pretty much one sample or frame at a time from the file, so it is very much tied to I/O performance. This will be remedied when it gets out of an experimental phase.
