Using mkpsf2.exe by peronmls at 2:22 PM EDT on April 21, 2013
I cant figure out the command lines. I don't want to use the front end version on VGMToolbox because I think its broke.

Why do you think "its broke?"

by peronmls at 10:38 PM EDT on April 21, 2013
Because it won't create a psf2. Even when I unpack a created psf2 and try to remake it with the front end I get the same message.

"Name.psf2 has been created.
Cannot open (path)name.psf2"

Nothing gets made. So I want to try the command line one. I just need to know what to put in.

If you want to explain the steps you took when using VGMToolbox, I can try to recreate, and hopefully fix, the problem. The more details the better, including screenshots and real file paths.

If not, download the PSF2 Starter Kit here: here. All the info needed to make PSF2s is in that kit.

Ok I will tell you step by step what i did. I did use that guide.
Im doing Haunting Ground.

I acquired the:
MODHSYNTH.IRX
MODMIDI.IRX
LIBSD.IRX
from the game

I put it in a folder with the other IRX that came with the stater kit including the PSF2.INI I made.

Next was the SQ HD and BD

I put the DATA.CVM from the game into VGMToolbox "ISO/Archive Extractor" and got a bunch of audio folders. One is called BGM. It contain the SQ BD and HD of the music. I take one of the 3 matching ones and and put it into a folder. I give them all the same name as the SQ.

Now I go to make a PSF2 set the folder directories and get this message:
"S4_NORMALB.psf2 created.
Could not find file 'C:\Users\Miles\Desktop\New folder\S4_NORMALB.psf2'."

sooo... anything, snakemeat???
by snakemeat at 8:52 AM EDT on May 1, 2013
Nope, no free time these days. You'll have to try the manual way I guess.
by peronmls at 5:30 PM EDT on May 1, 2013
WHATS THE MANUAL WAY?!?! I need someway to get these into a PSF2 format! How do you use the command line.
by Delon at 6:23 PM EDT on May 1, 2013
Use this string in cmd.exe
mkpsf2.exe folder.psf2 folder
by peronmls at 6:36 PM EDT on May 1, 2013
Delon,
(folder).psf2??? Are you sure that's right?

This is what I got in CMD.

C:\Users\Miles>C:\Users\Miles\mkpsf2\mkpsf2.exe
usage: C:\Users\Miles\mkpsf2\mkpsf2.exe psf2file directory

C:\Users\Miles>C:\Users\Miles\mkpsf2\mkpsf2.exe mod BMG.pfs2
[0] entering BMG.pfs2...
unable to switch to directory; giving up

C:\Users\Miles>

Now what?

GOT IT TO WORK! Thanks so much!! I will upload this to zophars when Im done!

I guess the front end is actually broke. I hope they or someone fixes it.
