Extracting .nub2 files by spaceinvading at 11:37 PM EDT on March 28, 2014
Hey everyone, has there been any development on this? I'd like to extract the audio from a .nub2 file but doing a search on that filetype has thrown up practically nothing.

The game is J-Stars Victory Vs. for PS3. Here's the file that I'm trying to open up:

Okay they are AT3 (atrac3). Don't know what can extract all of them. Someone here should know.

Does that mean that you were able to extract some of them or did I misunderstand?

its a stupid namco bandai archive found in many of their latest games. they changed the structure so the current nub extractors won't work on them and I don't believe there is one that currently supports it.

Try using the advanced cutter of vgmtoolbox, use the riff style header preset and .at3 as output file extension.

That worked! Thanks so much, alex and everyone who offered help and suggestions. This filetype definitely was a tougher cookie to crack.

Sorry for being a necromancer, but I have a nub2 file (containing audio) from The Idolm@ster 2 that I want to extract from, and I'm new to vgmtoolbox, and the advanced cutter is asking for a search string. What would that be?

The file is from the Xbox 360 version.

EDIT:
I figured out you have to press the Load button under the preset. The search didn't come up with anything, though. Something I thought of a few minutes ago was if the files were in some Microsoft-branded file format?
