What to use to extract audio from PS1 games in native format? by Vittas at 11:13 PM EDT on May 4, 2014
jpsxdec will extract, but it saves it as a wav, aif, or au file, and I need the raw file so that I can toss it in foobar2000 and change it to whatever length I want.

Are you talking about Sony adpcm or XA audio? XA can be extracted using the VGMToolbox.

Er, I'm talking about whatever audio format the files are in for the games I want the music from. Examples being Klonoa: Door to Phantomile and Symphony of the Night, to name just a couple. I'm admittedly just assuming what format they're in, since I'm not positive how to tell myself.

Those 2 games have already been ripped in the psf archive: http://psf.joshw.info/

From the files sizes, they likely use XA, but there could be sequenced music as well.

Yeah, I only just found out how to access those archives. Sorry about that and thanks. My whole reason for wanting these files is so that I can have as high a quality extended music file as possible. Is there any way I can make XA and .mib files play longer (but not indefinitely since that won't make it longer when I convert it to .wav, .mp3, etc.) using foobar2000 so that I can then convert them to a format I can play on my phone (probably .mp3)?

Go to File -> Preferences -> Playback -> Input -> vgmstream and then set the loop count and fade time to whatever numbers suit you.

I take it you know how to convert it to MP3 with foobar?

I do.

This doesn't seem to work with XA, .mib, .filp, or .adx. Am I simply doing something wrong if that is the case?

XA doesn't loop. They stream just like cd-da audio. In fact, I'm not aware of any streamed format on the ps1 that looped like adx, logg, etc... You'd have to import the audio into some audio editor and extend it manually.
