PSF Driver Version 1.5 by MarkGrass at 11:49 AM EDT on April 21, 2007
Again, i'm posting news about my Generic PSF Drivers here, which probably won't even get a single response.

Release Info:

@CaitSith2 - Due to a WIN98 crash, I lost the Source and had to completely rewrite the program. If you would like to jump back on-board with the project, please contact me at MarkG1984@hotmail.com so I can get the Source to you. If not, no hard feelings. :)

Even if you receive no replies (minus this one), I'm glad you announce these things here anyway. I'm glad to see the progress you're making. One thing I'd like to mention, is that in going through the Megaman Legends 1 set, it sounded funny to me. The best description I can give it is that it sounded like it cut off the instruments too soon. Take note, I haven't verified this against the OST MP3s, so I could be mistaken. However, if it is an issue, I'd appreciate it being looked into.

Again, thanks for your awesome work. If only someone could figure out an easier way to rip custom drivers... For the PSX and the PS2... Yah, not going to happen, but it'd be nice... Star Ocean 3, Radiata Stories, Xenosaga... Dang. Considering that only 2 people have ripped custom PS2 drivers, I'm guessing that it's rather unlikely that we'll see those games ripped soon, if at all. Oh well. At least you're making progress on the PSF front. Thanks again! Mouser X over and out.

Thanks for the feedback, Mouser X. It was very much appreciated :)

About Legends - I thought I was the only one to notice this, but hadn't considered it an issue because I don't have the actual OSTs to compare with and it seems to be happening with SEP Data in particular. Hopefully, it can easily be fixed by tampering with the Tick Mode or VAB Transfer State.

In Versions 1.0+, the VAB Transfer State is "IMMEDIATE"; this was only implemented for immediate playback of Sequence data. Changing it to "WAIT_COMPLETED" should fix this if it is indeed an issue. If/When you can Mouser, please compare the MP3 OST to the PSF rip and let me know the results so this possible issue can be addressed properly.

Concerning a Generic PSF2 Driver - As soon as I can get my hands on the PS2 SDK, this is my next major project. Considering that i've had little to absolutely no luck at all obtaining it, I don't see this happening in the foreseeable future unless someone generously passes along the official SDK to me (which I know for a absolute fact is availible on the 'net, but obtaining it is damn near an impossibility).

So with that said, send me an official PS2 SDK!!! It is my dream to have all PSF/2 archives using my Generic Drivers. There are a plethora of benefits that can come from this: features that can be toggled in PSF-o-Cycle that are impossible to accomplish with Original Drivers, such as custom Revberb, etc.

PS - Does ANYONE at all know where I can obtain a Version of PSYQ higher than 4.6? Does PSYQ SDK Version 4.7+ even exist for that matter?

EDIT - With both the SEQ and SEP Drivers being pre-final (one step away from being fully complete), the Source Code for this project will be released soon for skilled devs who want to add custom Sequence Data support to the Driver(s). I am currently working on Resident Evil 3's unique SEQ and VH formats, followed by SquareSoft's pesky AKAO format. Help with AKAO would be very highly appreciated and worth the effort!

Version 1.6 is already out, but rushed without Custom Sequence support (which is still WIP). New in this release:

MIDI Channel Muting - Mute up to 7 PSF MIDI Channels at once (buggy, but it works).

SEP Driver is no longer supported. Please use "SeqRip.exe" to convert SEP to SEQ and use the SEQ Driver from this point on.

Tempo Control & Support - Enough said.

Various bug fixes and speed increases - See TXT
