No, 64th Note is a Winamp plugin, and won't work in Windows Media Player. If, for whatever mysterious reason, you don't want to use Winamp, there are other means open to you. You could try XMplay (which can use Winamp plugins. 64ht Note is confirmed to work in XMplay), or Foobar2000. In regards to Foobar2000, you can't use 64th Note in the newest version of Foobar2k. You'll need to find Foobar2k v0.8x, and the Winamp Plugin Wrapper (which HCS has hosted on his site somewhere). Foobar2k v0.9x broke support of all the 0.8x version plugins, and the Winamp Wrapper has been abandoned.

I'm sure there's other players out there as well that can support Winamp plugins (isn't there?). However, I like Winamp, and am quite happy with it. As such, I don't know what other players are out there. Perhaps some other people on this board do. If anyone else has any suggestions, then of course please feel free to post them (not that you need my permission to post them. I'm just trying to be encouraging is all). Mouser X over and out.

I always wonder who prefers Windows Media Player over Winamp or FooBar(or Mediamonkey which is the one I use and supports winamp plugins too), because there's no extensibility, lack of support for file formats(ogg?) plus it's slower than Winamp to load too.

I haven't tested 64th Note in MediaMonkey but it should work, even though I have no idea how the name will show up if you do.

I found 2 more "Winamp Alternatives." There's KbMedia Player (Here's more info, and an English patch), and DeliPlayer. KbMedia Player can support Winamp plugins using a wrapper (which it comes with, I think). I don't know enough about DeliPlayer to know if it can use Winamp plugins or not.

Specifically for emulated audio formats (NSF, GBS, PSF, etc.) you can try out Audio Overload. Though, I'm pretty sure that it'll be somewhat limited in features, compared to other players.

Anyway, I don't have any other suggestions that I can think of. Hopefully you find something here useful. Mouser X over and out.

It's simply because MS bundles it with windows... that's why many people use it...

If WMP had plugins, you wouldn't need Winamp.

Only thing I use it for is CD burning, even if it does freeze my computer.

er, i think you'll find that wmp does have plugin support but not on the level of other 'lower' players :)

cheers,
a shame uninstalling wmp will cripple windows functionality =/

anyways to dig out an oldtimer thread, there must be a way to get vgmstream winamp plug working in mediamonkey!

so far i tried several builds (newest and sylvester builds), placed the 3 dlls in appdir/plugin dir/sys32, removed other plugins to avoid conflicts....no success (with mm3.2).
64th notes is doing a good job btw.

maybe jurassicpieter still uses the monkey and can help
