The Game Music Soundtracks Thread by unknownfile at 6:05 PM EDT on September 29, 2007
Hello everybody, this is your friendly neighborhood idiot speaking. In this thread I will post megauploads and rapidshares of soundtracks that I download off of Japanese P2P networks, so that I don't end up closing the entire domain for a day, and also so you idiots can listen to the music itself.

Also, just so you know, a lot of it is in the APE format, so the shares are going to be huge in filesize.

Why am I posting this? Because anewuser is not on IRC telling me to work on notsofatso. You ain't my boss!

Soundtrack 1: Sexy Parodius (APE)

Megaupload: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=ZA36P240

Madara will be uploaded next.
by hcs at 5:09 AM EDT on September 30, 2007
Why not FLAC?

Also, for anyone interested in rare soundtracks, check out Slightly Dark, where new VBR rips of really obscure stuff come up regularly.

Final Fantasy 8?
by unknownfile at 1:38 PM EDT on September 30, 2007
Download in progress; it's a gig so I'll upload it in two parts later.

Also, I can't make any guarantee the download'll finish, the P2P networks have a habit of keeping incomplete files floating around.

There's one officially released album I'm after that I can't find anywhere, not even on slightlydark. I've tried vgmcentral, galbadia, ffshrine boards, vgmp3, possibly some other places too... =( mad props to anyone who can find it!

However, I do have an equally rare redbook of the game - possibly even rarer. I gather the tracks on the redbook are not the same as the CD (the CD ones are arranged mostly?) Anyway, if anyone would like it I can upload it.
by unknownfile at 3:23 PM EDT on September 30, 2007
Madara upload in progress as I promised; this time it's a complete soundtrack rather than the mounds of bullshit on GH.

I might also upload some other schwag from Share later.

Is there an mp3 of triple Triad?
by unknownfile at 3:56 PM EDT on September 30, 2007
I dunno, this is an APE encoding of the original soundtrack, so it has to be in there.

Also, soundtrack number 2 - Madara (MP3):

Megaupload

This .zip is somewhat broken. Track 1 on disc 1 does not extract.

Well, enjoy I guess.
by hcs at 7:36 PM EDT on September 30, 2007
From the hcs archives, a higher quality (192kbps) rip of Madara. No track names, though (but see here for a guide).

Regarding Gun Griffon, even Secret Squirrel, who has the largest collection I know of, is looking for it.

edited 7:40 PM EDT September 30, 2007

Another interesting one that I used to host:
Gurumin, a cute Falcom PC game from 2004. Apparently rereleased this year for PSP in English...
I originally got this in APE+CUE form, if anyone truly wants it that way I'll upload it but I figure MP3s will be more palatable.

Esper Dream Memory All Best has just finished downloading but I can't really say that I can post the RAR, due to Japanese characters it extracts wrong.

I can say though, that FF8 just finished downloading, it's a four-disc set, and all the track titles are English.

Last night I decided it would be a better idea to encode all further OSTs in FLAC format as it's faster to decode, has support built into many players, and does not freeze my computer.

In the meantime here's some Twinbee goodness. This album consists of the music from Twinbee Yahho, and I'm uploading it because the Konami PCM support in MAME and M1 sucks.

In other words, no, he doesn't know, and he can't be bothered to do more than insult you with a google links.
I don't know what song was associated with that game, either, though I did do some minimal research before coming to that conclusion.

If you remember it you might pick up the FF8 PSF set and see what track it is, the PSF set uses the same track names as the OST.

flactastic
by marioman at 1:03 PM EST on November 10, 2007
I never really liked Frogger 2. It is too easy, and there is too much emphasis on story as opposed to gameplay.

Frogger 1 (the prequel to Frogger 2) is awesome though. It is challenging, the music is great, and it just plays well. Too bad Frogger 2 didn't follow in the footsteps of its predecessor.

I've been hauling another few soundtracks (mostly anime crap) off Share, but a couple of new soundtracks will be up today:

- Gradius in Classic II

EDIT

Because I'm too lazy to use Megaupload or whatever, Gokujo Parodius is flying around ed2k at the moment.

TriggerHeart Exelica rip request by DX7Rocks at 11:37 AM EST on January 21, 2008
I've been looking for a rip of Trigger Heart Exelica (MP3,lossless or sequenced) for the Dreamcast/NAOMI but I couldn't find one anywhere on the net.The only thing I've found so far is a short MP3 of the track from Stage 1.
How come a soundtrack like this isn't available at G.H.?

Is there anyone that can post a rip of this soundtrack?
It's 100% sequenced stuff - one of the very few examples of a Dreamcast game not using ADX,but using the sequencing ability of the AICA chip to generate the tunes.

I can release my SPC sets for various games that I have completed. They are:

Incredible Hulk *
Super International Cricket
Pro Quarterback
Cannondale Cup
Roger Clemens' MVP Baseball
Al Unser Jr.'s Road To The Top
War 3010 - The Revolution *
Dharma Doujou *
Super Tennis
Ushio to Tora
Gegege no Kitaro
American Battle Dome
Block Kuzushi
Bastard!!! *
Jungle no Ojya Tachan !
Riddick Bowe Boxing
Coron Land
NBA Hangtime
NCAA Football
John Madden Football
WWF Wrestlemania Arcade
World League Soccer
Logos Panic *
Bishin Denestu Zoku - Legend of Bishin *

* - A Zophar set exists for this set. Execpt for Incredible Hulk, which I used Death Adder's dumps with a vocal sample from me, I redumped the entire set, sometimes with extra tracks. This is because many of the original sets were not dumped at the first note. I have SNES9X, but that means my results are not always that good.
! - This set is first-note sticking, so I patched the set myself, execpt for vocal samples.

I have another 27 (one PD) announced on SNESMusic.org that I have yet to release, and another 142 not announced, with anywhere from partial dumps to almost complete. Some of these sets I don't announce until it's close to completion.

Let me know if you want any of these sets, and I will get them to you.
by Lunar at 8:20 AM EDT on March 15, 2008
looking forward to seeing those sets. i submitted Micro Machines the other day - no idea if you had that partially completed or whatever but communication at snesmusic is pretty dire, so i just did it anyway. it wasn't listed anywhere on the undumpable/incomplete/needs tagging/zophar etc. so yeah....

Here are sets I'm currently interested in having complete on snesmusic:

Megalomania
Appleseed
Classic Road
Classic Road 2
Gamera - Gyaosu Gekimetsu Sakusen
Super Cup Soccer
Angelic Voice Fantasy
Yu Yu Hakusho III Tokubehuten
Kunio no Oden
V-Gundam
Gundam Wing: Endless Duel
Pinball Fantasies
Fifa Soccer '96
Soreyuke
Kishin Douji Zenki 3 - Tenchi Meidou
Yuu Yuu Hakusho Final
Exhaust Heat (i swear to god this was on snesmusic, maybe I'm going insane?)

Pilotwings also needs looking into. It's missing a track and some tracks are truncated at the beginning.

saying it here because I hate yahoo groups :)

Super Tennis SPC request by Yoshinkeru at 2:05 PM EDT on March 15, 2008
KungFuFurby: I'd love to get your Super Tennis SPC set if possible. I got one from Zophar's Domain, but it doesn't play from the first note.
by KungFuFurby at 3:02 PM EDT on March 17, 2008
To Lunar:
Gundam Wing: Endless Duel is already on SNESMusic.org under Shin Kidou Senki Gundam W: Endless Duel.

I have Appleseed in the works, but I have not beaten the game yet.

The two Classic Road sets are there, but they're discontinued. I have no plans to pick up the set.

I have the US version of Exhaust Heat in the works, but I haven't beaten it yet.

Soreyuke is offically announced by me as a working set.

Fifa Soccer '96 is not quite in the works, but I have a working set. However, I should redump the four SPCs I got from Zophar.

Kishin Douji Zenki 3 - Tenchi Meidou is in the Help Wanted section under Incomplete, which means it's discontinued.

You submitted Micro Machines? I would like to know what you have for SPCs: I will contribute my information as well plus my dumps if you want 'em. I do not have a composer, so I'm curious if you have 'em. I have four SPCs:

Title Screen (2:20)
Race Status (0:07, non-looping)
You Qualified! (0:05, non-looping)
One Life Lost (0:06, non-looping)

If there's a fifth one (or more) that I haven't gotten to yet, then let me know and I'll go ahead and work on that.
by KungFuFurby at 3:04 PM EDT on March 17, 2008
To Yoshinkeru: Ask and you shall recieve. I will upload the SPC set to my website and provide you with the link. It's in a RSN format, and it has the tagging information in a text file, not in the SPC file. Therefore, you are getting the original RSN file I made before the SNESMusic.org release.

I will do this later, however it won't be long.
by KungFuFurby at 3:12 PM EDT on March 17, 2008
The SPC set for Super Tennis has been uploaded on request. The file is here.
by KungFuFurby at 3:15 PM EDT on March 17, 2008
If anyone wants some Zophar sets uploaded here using my dumps, which includes redumps and additions to get rid of the "does not start at the first note" problem, I'd be glad to do that. Just request before the update and I'll accept your request.
by Lunar at 6:51 AM EDT on March 18, 2008
Thanks for pointing me to Gundam Wing. FUKKENSAVED.

What needs to be done with the Classic Road sets? I can confirm that the composer is JUST Hayato Matsuo (no Hitoshi Sakimoto.) As for missing tunes I wouldn't have the first idea.

Looking forward to Exhaust Heat. Which reminds me - Masanao Akahori should be credited for GP-1 here - http://snesmusic.org/v2/profile.php?profile=set&selected=1030 - if you have any such power!

Here's my Micro Machines set. Has more tunes (fairly certain it is complete):

http://www.shakal.net/lunar/temp/Micro%20Machines.rsn

It's the same music as the Amiga game, just much worse. No-one was credited for the SNES version (that I can tell.) Looks like I have everything you do and more, so there shouldn't be anything you need to do - if there is, at least wait until the set appears on snesmusic. I played through the entire game so I think that should be everything.

And wow, Super Tennis has great music :D wonder who composed that, it sounds very familiar, sorta like Pro Sport Hockey (uses some of the same samples) but also something else too... wonder what it reminds me of.
by KungFuFurby at 3:10 PM EDT on March 18, 2008
The composer for Super Tennis is Yoshi. As for GP-1, where did you get the composer? I'm curious. If it was from the Japanese version, then that's good to know.

As for Micro Machines, I will use your dumps. You have the original composer, which is Matthew Simmonds. Here's the comparison:

1*. Main Theme (I had this as the Title Screen.)
2. Character Select (I actually believe this only occurs when you select your opponents for Challenge mode, not when you select your character. Therefore, I am going to do a renaming and rename this as Choose Your Opponents - Challenge Mode if you don't mind.)
3*. Course Introduction (I had this as Race Status.)
4*. Race Results (Believe it or not, I had this as You Qualified! I can change this title to Race Results - Challenge Mode, since it appears you played Challenge Mode, and probably not the Head To Head mode.)
5*. Lose a Life (I was more of a copycat in this one: I named this One Life Lost, which was directly what the message said when I lost a life. I will also put under Comments that this occurs when you don't qualify.)
6. Opponent Knocked Out (I encountered this track at pretty much the right time: When someone got knocked out!)
7. The Last Race (Yup, this one fits the description.)
8. Champion (Pretty much.)

I have uploaded the set using your dumps plus my initial four, so we each get a 50-50 split, to spcdumpers the Yahoo! Group, complete with the Tagging Information file I normally use. I have credited both you and me for dumping and tagging.

About the Classic Road sets, there are indeed two composers. If you look up the offical page for Hitoshi Sakimoto, he/she puts the game up as a game he/she composed, although mistakenly as Classic Lord.
by Warpstar at 8:06 PM EDT on March 18, 2008
Actually, as the page also indicates, he didn't do any actual composing for those games. He was in charge of arranging the compositions for the SNES hardware, as well as creating sound effects.
I suppose it'd be okay to include him in any potential set credits.
by Lunar at 8:16 PM EDT on March 18, 2008
He isn't credited with composition for Classic Road 1 + 2, he's credited for Arrangement and Sound Design (check the Work column on Sakimoto's site.) The Japanese Game Music Composer List agrees - they list Sakimoto for sound design only for those games, while Hayato Matsuo is credited as a composer. It's not the first time this has happened - Syvalion was also only composed by Matsuo, with the other composers credited on snesmusic actually being responsible for other roles.

GP-1 is Akahori simply because it's obviously him. It's a Genki game for a start - same as Final Stretch (which he composed for), and if you listen to Exhaust Heat, Cybernator, or basically any other game he's composed for, the musical style is blatant, from the mechanics of his composition to the sample set he's using. I would love to be proved wrong :D

EDIT: speaking of, Final Stretch may not be complete. I submitted it as a potentially incomplete set and it got added. go figure.

You never know if that's right or wrong if you're missing the composer for that game. If someone were to have a Japanese or English manual for this game, then we could confirm this. The composer is not in the game, that's for sure.

In addition, Genki also did King of the Monsters, and I don't even have the composer for that game! It's probably in the Japanese manual, because the English Manual has no credits.

THANK YOU by Yoshinkeru at 7:06 PM EDT on March 20, 2008
You have my sincere thanks, KungFuFurby. I had almost forgotten there were other tracks in the game. (Can you believe that?) (I love how you got the "Fault"!)

I had been waiting to see if anyone would upload this to SNesMusic.org. Are you going to?
by JILost at 5:21 AM EDT on March 21, 2008
Why get the "Fault" and not "Deuce" or "Net"? Just nitpicking.
by KungFuFurby at 8:28 AM EDT on March 28, 2008
I don't think I can do that, as YK usually does that. In addition, my SPC set production rate is actually very high. I have about 30 SPC sets that I've uploaded to SPCDumpers since the last update. Yes, I complete sets that fast. This is what I got for a message, for those of you wondering why in the world none of them have showed up, direct from YK:

"...you've claimed close to 50 games on the "Help Wanted" page, if not
more. You've probably noticed I've not bothered to upload any of your
sets, either. This is just ridiculous... you do not stop... *sigh*"

I also have Trinea (A Japanese game by Yanoman and JAM) nearing completion, complete with track names from the original using a Music ID identifier (I used the watch feature on my emulator, SNES9X, which allows me to watch one variable) so that I could verify each track name. The most recent set completed is Zero the Kamikaze Squirrel, which was delayed because although I had the Sound Test pieces of music, I did not beat all of the levels (that is, complete them by getting to that Stage Clear sign) until 3 days ago. It contains one extra track not in the sound test, and I can upload it if anyone wants me to. The composer for that game is Fox Productions.

I like to play the game until the end, unlike some other people. I have grabbed composers people have missed myself, and I know how to patch SPC files that are first-note sticking, although I use pre-made IPS files.
by Lunar at 12:13 PM EDT on March 28, 2008
Either he needs to add them, or he should move aside and let you or someone else who CAN be bothered to add the sets do it instead. Heh... "You do not stop" - what's his point? That's a GOOD thing. Same goes for Knurek and his insane-and-awesome efforts with 2SFs and previously GSFs. Only difference is he's entirely responsible for posting them too.

Make sure the sets get posted.
by Knurek at 8:19 PM EDT on March 28, 2008
In YK's defense he stated several times that he doesn't have the motivation to do the site related work ATM. Also, the message quoted earlier was after about 50 KungFuFurby's messages each with at least one new set.

Also he doesn't really need to do anything, he's not paid to carry the site and all. I do also have admin access @ Snesmusic, and could add KFF sets, but it's not that simple, unfortunately. Snesmusic has pretty high standards when it comes to set quality, so adding one takes at least hour or so (KFF can't tag them himself due to his OS and there's no SPC mass tagger which doesn't help).

When I have some free time/motivation, I'll try and do a few sets myself, but really I can't promise any timeline for that.
by nensondubois at 11:25 AM EDT on March 29, 2008
I was annoyed when I found out that the SPC set I sent to Snesmusic had almost all my tracks removed. They were all properly dumped and named but were not timed. So I never sent them anything else, other than an unused song found in Super Mario World they had for a while but some idiot over there removed it. Why? I don't know but they may or may not get any more sets from me because of this stupid action.

edited 1:12 PM EDT March 29, 2008
by KungFuFurby at 6:27 PM EDT on March 29, 2008
I had that case sometimes, although it was mainly sound effects that were removed, and I usually have vocal samples as well. Sometimes, renamings occur within the titles. For example, Main Theme is usually what I put down for Title Screen and something else.

I would like to know if anyone wants to make an application for the Mac that could handle tagging SPCs... ID666 or extended ID666. I have a G5 running 10.4.11, just to note.

I want to add composers as well, because I've been looking up various sources for composers, and I've been recording them down. Keeper and Final Fight still don't have composers even though they're in the SPC set tagging, along with some other games.

I'd prefer to add composers and do sets, but being on a Macintosh, I can't seem to tag this stuff. I do use a text file to provide the tagging information, though.

I am patient with waiting on the sets, though. They take a bit to get through, and I am perfectly fine with that.
by nensondubois at 6:39 PM EDT on March 29, 2008
I'm going to complain at Snesusic for that bullshit or I'll annoy them witch ever works.

(Hint: Read the date!)
by Chupperson Weird at 3:30 PM EDT on April 1, 2008
Would have gotten me if you hadn't mentioned the date.
by nensondubois at 9:13 PM EDT on April 1, 2008
I submitted an unused song in Super Mario World, which they removed a few weeks later after accepting it, Super Gameboy 2 like you said, some voice samples from a few games they didn't take and that's really all I sent them. And why has SPC production stopped?

April Fools! That was an April Fools joke.

Pretty clever one. I should have expected something like that.

Bump.

Gossun-remix album remix official page. Two records of remixes that I couldn't find on torrent sites. Japanese has been a barrier to dig deeper so I thought I post here hoping someone could help look (and upload/seed on reliable sources).

It apparently translates to 'Marisa stole the precious thing' which I guess is some kind of anime that I'm not familiar with. I grabbed the demo downloads and thought inmediately "this is great"

It's made by Iosys (maker of "danmaku" videogames [bullet hell type of games]) and from time to time they release OSTs...

Any help would be appreciatted.

PS: what it sounds like:
sounds from gossun remix 1
sounds from gossun remix 2

Unknownfile, I know of a torrent (still active with seeders) that has tons of Final Fantasy music in FLAC format, it's a 40GB torrent and all tracks can be downloaded individually. Btw, no bootlegs as all the FLAC rips are from original CDs. Oh and the same person that uploaded this also made a torrent for Kingdom Hearts Original Soundtrack Complete Box (9-discs) in FLAC format as wall, by my request.

I'll post the links when I find them but that might be a couple of days from now.

Request: can you find me the F-Zero GX/AX Original Soundtrack (2-disc) in lossless FLAC or APE? CUE sheet and log file would be nice as well. Thanks.

You mean this and this?
Note that the FF one isn't all lossless.

I bought the soundtrack one year ago. So I could do it for you if you want me to do so. ^^
by CyberSpark at 8:08 PM EDT on May 29, 2008
Yeah, Boxtorrents, that's where it's from. :) Thanks hcs, you saved me the trouble of having to find it myself, I thought I might have forgotten where it was. I still keep in contact with the user that uploaded all of that. He's sending me all of the Soul Calibur albums in FLAC format.

I also know of a site where You can get tons of Sonic music in lossless (SonicOnTheNet). Unfortunately it's down at the moment but I'll inform everyone when/if it's back up. I have most everything from there but, again, I won't be able to upload/download anything for awhile.

Quartoxuma, yes! I definitely want it if you have, it's much appreciated. Most torrents that do have it are all dead now. Um... do you mind doing the CUE sheet, log file, and MD5 file to go along with it? If not then that's fine. Thanks much. :D
by CyberSpark at 9:10 PM EDT on May 30, 2008
Hey Quartoxuma, if you're able to upload that album for me sometime during the weekend it would be much appreciated. After that time, I won't be able to download anything until serveral days later. No pressure, just wondering if it's possible. K, See ya.

Edit: sorry for the double post.

It's okay. Just a few questions:

How do I create a MD5 file?
Where shall I upload the soundtrack for you? You are using a one-click hoster, right? Which? Rapidshare?

edited 9:14 AM EDT May 31, 2008

EDIT

Okay, I uploaded the files to Rapidshare. I hope that's okay for you. (It took me 4 hours to upload the files... -_-). The files are all FLAC and I added CUE sheets and log files. MD5 is not included, sorry. I hope you will enjoy this. :)

Have fun!

Thank you very much Quartoxuma, very nice soundtrack! :D It'll take me a little while to download it because RapidShare has some crazy download limits. :(

For the future, and if you are running on a Windows platform, I would suggest a program called HashTab to create MD5s.

If you want to create the actual MD5 file, just copy & paste the HashTab MD5 information to a simple text editor (MS Notepad will work just fine) and repeat the process for every song until the notepad has the corresponding MD5s stored in that one file, unless it's an ISO image in which case it's only one MD5, stored in one file, per disc. After you've saved the file, rename it <desired name>.MD5. It should automatically change the file type and there you have it. :)

Thanks again. :)

There is a simple trick to avoid the download limits: just switch off your modem and a few seconds later switch it on again. (Perhaps you also have to delete your browser cookies) Now you are able to download the next file without waiting for hours. ^^

I've tried that many times before and it never seems to work. :( I'm still currently downloading it and I started on Saturday afternoon. Oh well, it's worth it.

If you have any other ideas for getting around this please tell me. Thanks.

On another note, I'm looking for another soundtrack: Kameo: Elements of Power Original Soundtrack in lossless FLAC or APE format.

Could someone please upload it once found? Thanks.

Hey Quartoxuma, I've near downloaded the entire album but there's one song that, no matter how many time I download the RAR, doesn't seem to work. Could you upload this one song for me:

~ Disc 1 ~
27 Daiki Kasho - Beastman.flac.

I must leave for three days coming this Thursday (tomorrow); please, if you're able, could you upload it before then? I plan to put this album on CD(s) and won't have access to a computer, at least until the weekend. Thanks.
by Quartoxuma at 8:41 PM EDT on June 4, 2008
Oh, no problem.
Here it is: http://rapidshare.com/files/120157232/27_-_daiki_kasho_-_Beastman.rar

Thank you very much. Now all I have to do is wait 25 more minutes, :( but by now I'm quite used to the waiting. :)

This soundtrack is pretty great but unfortunately it's missing the music I want most: the cutscene music. I know, Some think it's cheesy but I actually like it and think it's pretty cool, like the one where Deathborn banishes Black Shadow after losing the Grand Prix, the music starts with a piano and then progresses into this nice catchy beat. And yes, I even like this song and it's ultra cheesy:

lol. ^_^

Sekaiju no Meikyuu 2 OST
aka Etrian Odyssey 2. This is the 3 disc version. File names are English but tags are Japanese.
This was a little tricky to find so I figure someone else might be looking for it as well.

[edit]
oops, problem with the file, reuploading. putting up the rest of the series as well

edited 12:43 PM EDT June 21, 2008

Ok, here we go:

Sekaiju no MeiQ Original Soundtrack
Sekaiju no MeiQ Super Arrange Version
Sekaiju no MeiQ sound track PROTO-TYPE
Sekaiju no MieQ 2 Original Soundtrack
Sekaiju no MieQ 2 Sound Track Piano sketch version
Sekaiju no MeiQ 2 Super Arrange Version

And for good measure, a disc I picked up yesterday at Fry's:
Blue Dragon Original Soundtrack (FLAC)
Track names are a bit different from the #gamemp3s release as this is the US version.

edited 10:18 AM EDT June 22, 2008

And one more (I picked up a bunch of used CDs yesterday):
Klonoa; Door to Phantomile (FLAC) from the Ever Anime GM-021/22 CDs, not the original release. Sorry about tagging everything with NAMCO but I wasn't up to tagging each track with the specific artist.

edited 11:40 AM EDT June 22, 2008

In case anyone's curious, the rest are:
"SaGa Frontier" Original Soundtrack (A&G-028~0380, Sonmay)
Soundtrack Tales of Destiny (A8-1177/1178, Ever Anime)
Tales of Eternia Original Soundtrack (A&G-191~192, Sonmay)
Wild Arms 2nd Ignition (GM-198/199, Ever Anime)

Wow hcs, thanks a ton. Do you know if it's possible to find the lossless versions to Sekaiju no MeiQ Super Arrange Version and Sekaiju no MeiQ 2 Super Arrange Version? They sound like pretty awesome soundtracks to me. :) Thanks again.

Why not go to BlueLaguna.net for the FF8 songs and such?
by CyberSpark at 9:49 PM EDT on July 8, 2008
Hi. I have another request to make.

The soundtrack that I'm looking for is 10+ years old and may be rare or hard to find, especially in the format that I want it in. I'm looking for a lossless copy of Ecco the Dolphin: Defender of the Future Original soundtrack.

If anyone happens to know where I can find this album in lossless format or, better yet, actually owns an original copy or the CDs, please inform me, I also have some video game music in exchange (in [lossless] FLAC or APE format). Thanks.

Edit: had the wrong cover art, corrected now.

Some of you guys probably know about this already, but if you want a second place to get vg OSTs from, and some anime and movies as well, check this thread out:
Huge OST list

If the link doesn't work, try later. Sometimes the site is down, but not very often. You'll more likely to run into links that will tell you to try back later than see the forum down.

Register at the forums for free, and all that, 5 minutes tops to see the links. Make requests and he'll probably find what you want and put it up, too.

Note to those that might not know, there's a bunch that are in multi-part RAR files (something.part1.rar, etc.). You need to have all the parts downloaded into the same place before you can open and extract it. Then it acts like a single RAR file, not a bunch of them. You'll see all the files by opening or extracting any part, so make sure you don't try to extract every part or you'll have as many duplicate files as rar parts.

Yeah I've known about Final Fantasy Shrine Forums for awhile, I'm CyberSpark over there too. :) Another one is Gamingforce Forums, they too have alot of VGM but also alot of movie soundtracks (in various audio formats).
by DChronos at 12:17 AM EDT on July 10, 2008
Yeah, GFF was the first place I ever signed up to. I knew them before the VG section was killed... but they're remaking it. You have to register, post, and get on FTP to get there, though, unless they're posting megaupload and other links, too. I haven't done anything there in forever... since the last time they crashed and started from scratch. I signed up as Chronos taking the no post of it before the crash. I was also Dark Chronos. I created a few AVs and a sig for Chaotic century since he liked my time dragon av.

I requested Wild Arms 3 in that thread, hoping to replace my bad copy of song 21 on disk 3... and he had the exact same set I did. x_x 2 hours for nothin'.
by marcusss at 4:00 AM EDT on July 10, 2008
Yeah that link is quite good.. I use that site also.. I am bakabakabaka :P
by CyberSpark at 4:28 PM EDT on July 10, 2008
Ah, the one that recommended me those Guilty Gear OSTs. It's a small world eh, in VGM communities anyway. :)

Back to requests.
I figured that my above request would be a little difficult one, it is very rare after all, therefore, I contacted the composer, Tim Follin, via email and I'm just waiting for a response.

Okay so I have a new one. Can someone please upload the music to The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker in some lossless format (FLAC or APE). If anyone owns this 2-Disc album, I can show you how to do archival lossless using Exact Audio Copy and a couple of other programs.
by DChronos at 5:41 PM EDT on July 10, 2008
Actually, I wouldn't mind knowing what the best flac encoder is and how to encode to flac. Also, what's the best flac winamp plugin? Last time I looked was awhile ago, but there was like 2 choices and the default one. I had one before reinstalling that sounded OK, but have no idea what one... the one I have now just doesn't seem to sound right somehow.
