Converting to MPEG layer 3 format by Teften at 2:52 AM EDT on April 27, 2008
I've been trying to convert the music to the iTunes format using the nullsoft disk writer preference. It's not working. Any ideas? It's for MINIUSF files.
No no, I've used the disk writer for some SNES files, and those worked. It's just the 64th note configuration. I was hoping somebody had worked around with that enough to do it.
EDIT: Tried your link, the file didn't work. Sorry.
Hi Teften, I always use this Plugin: http://www.winamp.com/plugins/details/33396 for encode the Files from 64th Note, In-Cube and 2sf to mp3. The Plugin is a bit slow and needs a lot of PC-Ressources but it works.^^
As HCS alluded to, the problem most likely comes from the wonky sample rates that USFs often use. MP3 can only support specific rates. Some USFs output their samplerates at bizarre numbers, such as 21,005 or something odd. When encoding that, you'd need to resample it something that MP3 can handle. Enabling "round frequency" will probably help take care of this problem. If it doesn't, then find a program that can resample the WAV files, before/during encoding. Mouser X over and out.
Most things that do resampling use an algorithm that tends to eat up a lot of memory for really odd frequencies like we have, and in some cases will simply fail.
Do you realize what FLAC is? FLAC, when decompressed, is identical to WAV. If you say otherwise, then you are mistaken. The only instance where this is not the case is if someone takes an MP3, converts it to WAV, and then converts that WAV to FLAC. And I *guarantee* that this is correct. FLAC is Full Lossless Audio Compression. Think of it as putting a WAV into a ZIP file. No data is lost, but the resulting file is smaller. That's what FLAC is. Again, if you say otherwise, you're wrong. Simple as that. Mouser X over and out.
I think the F is Free, but otherwise agree with Mouser. Neill's page asks "Are those FLAC files just recoded MP3s in disguise?", it doesn't declare that they are. WAVs can just as easily be decoded MP3s in disguise.
Yeah I have encoded lots of music I own into flac and am very happy with it and I believe also it doesn't degrade the music and I use level 8 compression in my flacs :)
Yeah as everyone says , a flac could just be a re encoding of a lossy mp3 or wave.. so unless its trusted to be original it could be as you say , but as most people wouldn't waste their time on such a crap activity, I assume all flacs are lossless and the same as the original :-)
No need to be scared of FLAC ;) Welcome it with open arms :P
Well, I tried all of your ideas, but not a lot of them worked. Guess which one did? The one I said didn't work! Thanks unknownfile, I tried outlame again and it works beautifully.
