new problem, when i try to play 21 Battle Theme from Rockman EXE 4 ~ Cyber Battle.mini2sf from Mega Man Battle Network 5 - Double Team [Rockman EXE 5 DS - Twin Leaders] (2005-07-21)(Capcom Production Studio 2)(Capcom) in a non solid 7z file, droidsound just closes, any ideas why?
Perhaps he was trying to play directly from the .7z on the web site, or on one of the module sites, which requires fetching the entire 7z into the device's browser cache first.
i found the problem, it the stupid to many characters crashes programs and apps crap again.
i guess mnt\extSdCard\VGM\2sf Files (Nintendo DS Sound Format)\Mega Man Battle Network 5 - Double Team [Rockman EXE 5 DS - Twin Leaders] (2005-07-21)(Capcom Production Studio 2)(Capcom)\21 Battle Theme from Rockman EXE 4 ~ Cyber Battle.mini2sf is to big for it
Sir-Sabin: yes, i noticed this too on some files. You are correct, too long filepath makes it crash. I will investigate what is the maximum length and use that. Currently it's 260 chars. I hope that is not the limit.
I checked the log, i couldn't find anything suspicious, maybe it couldn't load the biosfile, i have changed it a bit, try with the latest binary available in the usual place.
try changing the paths where you copy the 7z file and also rename the filebrowser to something else, just for testing purposes, i'll check more this later
Chances are pretty high that its Windows counterpart isn`t able to play those back either and that`s probably true for any other ports of the plugin. What I mean is that MSFs aren`t playable with help of VGMStream as of yet merely because of their contents. This "MSF" type of audio file is actually a container holding differently encoded tracks or sounds and in this regard it`s really close to FSB or XWB.
So best possible solution for your problem would be extraction of MSFs contents and experimentation with them. My guess is that you aren`t talking about MP3 or PCM WAV containing ones since VGMS should play these 2 no questions asked and even if it`s not the case one can extract MP3s using just any extractor / scanner / parser available out here (out of those supporting MPEG1 Layer III kind of header of course). As far as I`m concerned MSFs shouldn`t hold headerless MP3s inside.
As for more serious troubles and their respective solutions I`m recommend trying Alpha23`s script named accordingly to its purpose: msf_convert.bms and located in his own XeNTaX forum thread dedicated to scripting. It should extract either PS2 ADPCM encoded files (however this is such a pare case that I`ve only encountered it once so far) or Atrac3+ tracks (ATM these are only playable with the Foobar`s version of VGMStream) or original Atrac3 musics (for this one a specific codec is required however it`s quite easy to find and install).
This probably concludes the list of most possible troublemakers and I`d like to apologize for a bit of offtopic brought to the topic. I hope that at least some part of this info somehow helped.
winamp with vgmstream is telling me it's Playstation 4-bit adpcm and you might be thinking of another game that uses it, the lego games all use the same thing exspt (i'll fix the spelling later) Clone Wars, it has 6 channel msfs which will crash droidsound on my phone (5.1 isn't support on it)
EDIT: and at3 is playable in droidsound you might be thinking about the .dat files they come in
Sir-Sabin, if you have a file that should be playable with vgmstream for example and it refuses to run on Droidsound, give me the link to the song and I'll check it.
it just crashes droidsound when i scan the 7z file solid and non-solid, it's not a naming issue, i'm going to try a full reinstall and see if that fixes it
EDIT: nope that didn't work, it could be the way the psfs were made, CathSith2 said in his readme that it repacked them to minipsf but they have the .psf in the file name that could be confusing it
I tried this with genymotion (512MB memory/1cpu) and with my phone, in both cases the file worked as expected. Try with the latest binary. Other than that, you need to send me logcat log.
I can't seem to get files I put on my SD card to work on droidsound-e. I use FileBrowser to set the directory (in my case it's storage/extSDcard/music) and app crashes while updating the database.
Specter, file an issue in droidsound-e github page and explain in detail what happens, more you give infos, faster i'm able to solve the problem.
Did you type the path to the filebrowser or use the built-in folder selector? which phone/tablet you are using? what you can do also is that, make a temporary folder with only one file and see if it can update the db correctly, if it can, then the problem is not in filebrowser but somewhere else, most likely there is some funky format again
@haspor: The solution was embarrassingly simple: Restarting the tablet fixed the problem. Anyway, good job on the app. Every format I tried so far plays without any problems.
xenphor, what happens when you try to play it? Are you using the latest version from Google Play? You can also get unofficial version from dropbox link and see if it fixes your problem. the dropbox link is in one of those open tickets currently.
I downloaded the 7z package, copied it to /mnt/sdcard/Music, indexed it and it played fine.
Well the version I have was downloaded from Google Play through my phone around 2 days ago.
edit: Actually I just tried it again and this time it worked but I'm not sure why. I had pushed the file from adb as well as downloaded the 7zip from the archive from my phone before but neither worked. This time I just tried downloading it again from my phone and rescanning the database and it picked it up.
The program does crash frequently when I try to scan multiple 7zip archives at once, although for some reason this doesn't happen if I add the files while the player is playing back a file (???).
I have a moto g with 1 gig of ram so I'm assuming it's a hardware problem I guess.
Where is this dropbox link that you are referring to exactly?
Thats the place where you should report all the problems/bugs.
1GB of ram should be enough for anything droidsound-e needs.
Remember that all the 7zips from joshw.info are using solid-block option which is a memory hog. Either repack them with non-solid block option (7zip), or use deflate (ZIP) or just keep them unpacked, after all, most of the files are compressed already so you won't win much.
The unpacker could be changed to use temporary storage, but then every time you unpack a new archive, it will be eating up the capacity and lifetime of your flash storage.
heart almost stopped when my database was suddenly empty, thinking that my poor filing habits had finally caused severe damage to the filesystem. But it was just a hiccup during an update. I'm still not used to this (not particularly) new age of unobtrusive updates/patches...
Thanks for the new stuff, especially NCSF support. It was a nice surprise after a week of technological setbacks.
also, I can't believe it took me until just now to realize I should combine FadeOut with "Additional song length" to get the kind of fades I wanted...
Just wanted to popin and say thanks for DroidSound-E
It's nice to finally have a portable player that plays all the game music you can dream of in their original format! O_O
A little request: Is it possible to add play database? I noticed there is a long-touch gesture on subfolders but not on the root DB itself.
LED lights by rebecca02 at 3:36 AM EST on December 25, 2017
LED solar lights are best alternatives to traditional lights because they can save power. Yet back in many years ago, it is unbelievable that lights can be powered by harnessing the power of the sun. However, you can see solar LED lights everywhere today, in houses, building, or right in the street.
But do how know how these solar lights LED work? The secret lies in the photovoltaic effect and the solar cell equipped inside the solar light. The solar cell is the component that converts sunlight into direct electrical current. Usually the solar cell is made as a dark panel at the top of a solar LED light.
