Becuase the .mul files posted in that ps2 archive are different from the Xbox 360 .mul files in terms of structure and the codec use.
Xbox 360 version has its audio encoded as XMA1.
PS2/GC/XBOX/PC version has its audio encoded as ADPCM(be it Sony, Nintendo, Microsoft, etc.).

^Again, I'm not 100% sure if those archives contain the music data, but there they are. Also, @Knurek, it might be a while before I can get Romancing Saga.... the source I'm grabbing it from is not the most ideal, speed-wise....
What was done for all sets:
1. Conversion of OMA movie files to AT3 RIFF container (easily playable with VGMStream or decodable with at3tool)
2. Generating proper POS looping files with M3U playlist to match. VGMStream users don't really need this, but for at3tool decodes, this makes sure you will have proper loop points.
(Also of note is the fact that a lot of PSP devs have included improper looppoints in the files. Something easily fixable with at3tool decodes (you can always change the playlist entry from .at3.pos to .at3.wav), but not really feasible with VGMStream).
3. As a bonus, I've generated POS data for all PSP Falcom games except Ao no Kiseki and Zero no Kiseki. The AT3 files generally don't have looping data, but Falcom included the values in an external text file. You can enjoy for example Ys Seven, Brandish: Dark Revenant or Nayuta no Kiseki with proper looping.

Unfortunately, I couldn't get any music out of it, try as I might. :( Double shame too, since Scarlet Grace came out this week in Japan, but I won't be able to grab that either due to it being a 3.61+ title. Guess we'll have to play the waiting game for both those particular titles...

Also Murasaki Baby has .VAG but I noticed some contain an extra header and multiple sub-files, is this correct?

Has nobody ever ripped Mega Man 9 and Mega Man 10 music? We got Wii, 360 and PS3 versions for reference, there's gotta be a reason why it hasn't been done.
I searched a bit on these forums and there seemed to be a rip a long time ago, but the links are dead. It's also kinda strange: supposedly, one of the versions has each "channel" as individual tracks that play simultaneously to emulate the NES' channel interruption on gameplay SFX. Would that be the reason why they weren't properly ripped? I'm curious if the Wii version's music wasn't straight up .brstm files a-la other WiiWare games like Contra Rebirth.
IIRC, one of those is actually sequenced(9 I think).

Except adv00.hca which looks inusual (non-encrypted?), I'll recheck.
Unplayable Ape Escape sgb/sgd are SFX packs which I deliberately didn't support.
Sengoku Basara looks encrypted or badly extracted.
MSF support should be complete AFAIK except 6ch AT3 from Caladrius Blaze/TTT HD (FFmpeg thing), but somehow foobar is borked.
(all my changes end up in foobar within days btw)

As for Sengoku Basara, I don't think it's a bad rip, but I'll check and see just in case. But just to be sure, are there any other titles that use the SSPR extension? Wanna see if those will play for me...

The PSO2 key is the most common, and the one used by default in vgmstream.

Successfully imported data from Fuurai no Shiren DS 2 - Sabaku no Majou to loveemu's rip (one file out of 41 is not playing. Good enough for me).
Still need to time the set, but expect it on JoshW archive sometime this week.
I'll see what else I manage to 'rip' from this driver.

Unfortunately, no other Digital Sound Elements game I tried worked with that method, nor did they work with procyon_ripper. :(
Maybe some other time. I still believe we will have them ripped sooner or later.
It's possible somebody will do it, true, but it won't have anything to do with DSE rips.
