- Hey hcs.
I hope to have them soon but there are some things you might want to know before downloading them.
The Ragnarok Online II O.S.T. rip that I found has no log file or CUE sheet. :(
The Memory of Ragnarok OST does come with both a log file and a CUE sheet, as does the Ragnarok Online Piano Arrange.
There are two other albums that I forgot to mention: Ragnarok Online Soundtrack (APE+CUE) and the Eien no Story / Ragna Girls (APE+CUE+LOG).

What do you have to offer? Anything in flac?

- Park Place... and a "Get out of jail free" card...?
I have plenty of stuff; just not all here. Give me some ideas.

- jelbo: fyi I just got my copy of Okami OST, ripped it per CyberSpark's tutorial. All of my tracks match your CRCs except for track 23 on disc 4. Since the test and copy (and a subsequent test) came out the same I guess it isn't something temporary. There is a little scratch on the disc which might be the issue, but the track sounds fine. I'll be interested to compare the rips and see if it's just a byte out of place or something.

Cool, I just updated that tutorial today, I'm constantly updating that thing, I just finished adding a "Rip Enhancement" portion. :]
Could you possibly explain more details about track 23 of disc 4? maybe I can help.
Edit: Just out of curiosity, would you say that it took you a long time to set everything up using the tutorial? Might you have an estimated time? I'm just wondering if people will look at it and think that it's too long and not use it.

- hcs: very interesting. I re-ripped that track and I got 6C3958F8 as CRC.
I'll pass a link to the original track in a moment. I want to search about a way to dump tags to a file so I can give you those as well :) Unless you like tagging yourself ;)
/edit: can't seem to find a way to dump tags to files which can be applied later on, I guess it's more some Linux thing.
/edit2: Here's my original track 23 of disc 4: http://www.megaupload.com/nl/?d=PGCCDZL7 I removed the tags so it should be as I ripped it.

- 6C3958F8 is what I got too, yay!
I'm happy with the tags pulled from AccurateRip or freedb or whatever EAC pulled them from.
- by jelbo at 9:00 AM EST on February 8, 2009
- Cool, I guess we can say we both have accurate rips now :)
About those cue files, can you give me some hints to make batch files/scripts that can alter text inside files? I can only make batch files do file
operations, not search and replace actions within files, and that's what's needed.
- by CyberSpark at 12:10 PM EST on February 8, 2009
- So listen, even if the Test CRC and Copy CRC don't match, as long as AccurateRip can verify the track it's all good. :) If the track isn't present in the database, the CRC values must match.

- -FDM64-, I have Ys I & II Perfect and Eternal "Unpublished Music" in FLAC (in a torrent I can still seed, and I get decent upload speed here at 'lege.
What would be the format of Mother3i? FLAC would be great, unless there's a way you can remove the DRM and transfer the M4P files. That would be greater.
- by CyberSpark at 1:47 PM EST on February 8, 2009
- If you wanna make a perfect lossless rip Mother3i using this tutorial, I can download the archive and re-encode the files into high quality mp3s using the LAME encoder with [b]V0 settings.

METROID PRIME & FUSION ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACKS and Sonic Team - 2001 - Sonic 10th Anniversary in EAC lossless.
I'm willing to upload the Super Mario Galaxy Original Soundtrack Platinum Version, I have that one in EAC lossless and the archive includes high quality scans.

Here are a few other requests that I've been wanting to have:

- While I'm more than happy with MP3/OGG/lossless rip,s I think I'm going to have to 2nd CyberSpark on this one. I've downloaded the Final Fantasy Vocal Collections (I & II) a few different times, and I don't think I've found one that was quite right. On the other hand, perhaps I'm thinking of the Final Fantasy Mix album. I know that one of those 3 (or all 3) has always been of questionable quality. So if anyone comes forth with a rip of those, I'd love to see them.
I'm not a fan of requesting, nor am I a fan of lossless (it takes a lot of HDD space, and I don't have much left). Even so, I consider those albums worth it. Thanks in advance to anyone who is able to help out here. Mouser X over and out.

- I haven't looked extensively for this, (I haven't checked the GF forums at all), but does anyone know if a Spore OST/game audio rip is available? In the brief searching I did, I didn't get any good results. I realize the game is difficult to rip, due to having dynamic music. Spore's music is closer to Meteos than Zelda. Zelda uses dynamic music, yes, but it's generally in segments. Meteos' music changes depending on what buttons you press, what blocks are falling, and a slew of other stuff. To rip Meteos, you'd be best off recording it while you play the game. I would assume that, essentially, the same would be true for Spore, unless an actual OST exists. I'm not aware of anything like this, but I thought I'd ask, in case I missed it. Mouser X over and out.

Anyway, I too want the multi-dimensional Sonic Adventure 2 Original Soundtrack if anyone has in FLAC lossless, preferably ripped with EAC.

- I broke down and installed the mess that is iTsucks (get it???? like iTunes, but the truth!!1!1) to listen to the previews of Mother3i tracks. I know. Terrible.
They clip. Even the godly iTunes-only tracks (<< sarcasm) clip. "Tatsumairi" is the most blatantly terrible. Listen to the left channel! Scratchy scratchy! If you can't tell, do yourself a favor and get better headphones.
It's probably due to rushed production. The whole album sounds washed-out. Shigesato Itoi and Shogo Sakai just lost some major points. Granted, I'm assuming that iTunes previews are pretty close to the quality you get at purchase.
The album sounds like they sent lossy files to iTunes for encoding AGAIN to sell. Extremely disappointing, because the arrangements themselves are great.

The only point of trust here is that the messages that appear to come from you guys come from you, doesn't require a channel to be any more secure than that. (Typical implementations have a few additional layers such as encypting by the private key for validation purposes and a trusted middleman whose keys are already known to both parties who can provide the keys).
And it was a joke, it'd be total overkill.

I don't think they do. The soundtrack has better sound quality from what I can tell for all of the tracks featured on it, that includes the BGM and Sound effects. Also, this is a 2-Disc album. The first disc contains a complete Jazz arrange of music from Super Mario World, and Super Mario 1-3, that in itself is worth it. :-)
I'll try to up it today and you can tell me if it sounds any better then the recording.

- I never really saw this addressed, so here's my rip of Okami, hopefully to CyberSpark's standards. Checksums match jelbo's, though not all tracks match AccurateRip. Files were renamed since the cue sheet.
And The Black Mages, which I got at the same time.
- by CyberSpark at 5:34 AM EST on February 28, 2009
- Thank very much hcs! Very nice. Um, there's just one tiny little thing that would really bring this all together: an MD5 file.
If you still have the original archive with all of the files from this rip, you can use the program called HkSFV. This will allow you to create and inspect an MD5 file which, when inspected, will reveal any errors that could have occurred during data transfer over the internet. This can be uploaded separately and will take only seconds for the whole procedure. You may do the same for The Black Mages if you'd like, which I'd also like to thank you for. :-)
I will inspect the log files some more tomorrow but I wouldn't worry about the track missing from the AccurateRip database, as long as AccurateRip didn't return an error.
Btw, I should have some or at least one of those Ragnarok soundtracks that you had requested from me uploaded sometime tomorrow, remind me (bump this thread) if I don't have it up by the end of the weekend.
- by jelbo at 6:02 AM EST on February 28, 2009
- Ah, I left my Okami OST rip lying around because I wanted to have the .cue files fixed and I couldn't automate the process..
Anyway, I've really worked quite a bit on getting the tags absolutely right and making batch files with corresponding .m3u/.md5 files to switch between English Game Titles and Literal Translation Titles. hcs, would you be so kind to add my tags to your files using the linked batch/tag files and place my 'switching' .bat files next to your set? I really made them with the general audience in mind :)
I guess the .bat's can be renamed to Linux flavoured ones because they contain general metaflac commands.

- A few things:
CyberSpark: flac contains its own consistency checks, so as long as you have 218 files you can run flac -t on them to be confident, in fact the file level check is an md5 of the decoded data! But I can throw the md5 up if you insist.
jelbo: I don't want to change the files now that they're online, since it has a good chance of screwing with someone's download. I'll put your tagging batches along with the files so people can use them if they'd like.

True, however, MD5 files are more sensitive to errors and have the added benefit of checking themselves for errors as well as checking other files that are not .flac, it'll check every other file in the archive (if selected) such as image files and log file, CUE file, .ect. But anyway, it's just a request, it will be really easy to do though if you're willing. :-)
Hey jelbo, hows it be. :-) I'm interested in an EAC lossless rip of the soundtrack, but hey, the more 'complete' the archive the better. Since you put so much work into setting up the archive to have all of the nice extras, they're more then welcome. :-D
This is not really all that important, but if anyone's has any high quality scans I'd be interested. Again, if you don't already have them or don't plan to create them, it's perfectly fine without.
- by CyberSpark at 2:49 AM EST on March 1, 2009
- Hi all.
OK, I got the Ragnarok Online II O.S.T. uploaded! One small thing: I accidentally named the archive "... [FLAC]" when really the files are .ape format (another type of lossless), that's all. :)
As mentioned before, the archive unfortunately does not contain a log file or a CUE sheet (synonymous with EAC lossless rips), it's good for playback but you won't be able to inspect the rip nor reconstruct the original data as it was laid out on the source disc. :/ I will update if I ever do find an EAC lossless rip of this soundtrack but the chances are slim considering that there were only 1000 copies made.
Enjoy.

Edit: I'll be uploading some other Ragnarok Online stuff a little later, my next upload will be the Super Mario World soundtrack which contains everything good about a rip. :D Just like the Super Mario Galaxy rip that was uploaded earlier, there will be HQ scan, LOG+CUE, and an MD5 file, this is a 2-Disc album. For those of you that don't know, the first disc on this album is a complete Jazz arrange which is pure awesomeness. :D
I'm not sure when I'll have it up but hopefully it'll be soon. Cya.
Edit #2: Hey hcs, really quick: could you tell me the Catalog Number for The Black Mages album? apparently there are two different printings of this album on VGMdb and I wanted to know which one your rip is from. Thanks.

- It's from the reprint.

- Final Fantasy X-2 OST [FLAC]
This one was nabbed from a torrent long ago. I'll seed as long as possible. My usual max upload is 40 kbps.
EDIT: I forgot to uncheck "Private torrent" the first time. The link should be the new torrent file with DHT enabled. As soon as someone posts about this I'll start seeding.

- Oh, and thanks for the Ragnarok II OST, Cyberspark.

- Sup yo.
I've got another soundtrack up that you all might like. Its got some Jazz arrangements on the first disc and all the classic background music that we remember from the old Super Mario Bros 1-3 and Super Mario World games. Enjoy. :-)
Super Mario World [WPCL-233~4] [EAC]

I should warn you about something first before you download. Windows has trouble with long files names, and the file names for some of the songs on the second disc are pretty long. As a result, the MD5 file that's included in the archive may not detect those particular songs as being present or you may even have trouble deleting them from your computer (Unlocker will fix that). Rest assured, all of the files are in tact and can be played back as normal (tested this on foobar2k), no data is missing or corrupt, it's just stupid Windows' reaction.
But anywho... the archive is complete, having all the wonderful things you'd want in an EAC lossless rip! (FLAC encoded audio files | 2 log files | 2 CUE sheets | 1 MD5 file | 1 M3U file | HQ Scans). This is a rare out of print CD; so I suggest snatching it up while the link is still alive. :D

- windows doesn't have problems with long file names
stop using DOS
- by Knurek at 12:01 PM EST on March 4, 2009
- Yea, try making a 300+ long filename on Windows and then we'll talk.
- by CyberSpark at 12:03 PM EST on March 4, 2009
- LOL. I'm tell ya, there seems to be a problem with the files that have unusually long file names, like track 95 of the second disc:
The Evil King Koopa's Fiery Attack ~ The Evil King Koopa Attacks Once Again ~ Princess Peach Is Calling For Help ~ The Evil King Koopa Has Escaped For The Last Time ~ Fireworks Rising Sound
What's a "DOS" btw. :P
- by SmartOne at 7:58 PM EST on March 4, 2009
- Uh, CyberSpark, didn't you want the Final Fantasy X-2 OST...?
- by CyberSpark at 1:55 AM EST on March 5, 2009
- Yup, sure do. Do you know if you're able to rip it using the tutorial or is that now impossible because of the CD protection? There was a guy on FFShrine forums that was pretty much behind the incorporation of CD protection on some CDs, he linked me to a tool that would get around that but I don't know if the link is still around or if I'll even be able to find that thread.
Btw, I found an awesome EAC lossless rip of Street Fighter IV Original Soundtrack with CUE+log files, I can create a new link to it in a few days if anyone's interested. :)
Just thought that I'd mention this: I've compiled my requests in one forum! :D Here be the link: Audiophile's VGM Albums Requests
I may link to it from time to time so that it doesn't get lost here. :P
- by SmartOne at 4:19 AM EST on March 5, 2009
- If you want me to burn the discs and rip them again, then yeah, I suppose I could. :P I got them from a torrent long ago. They have some log-ish information included. (They sound really good, so I'm happy.)
So I'm seeding, or whatever, which means you should be leeching. Else my computer is on for nothing.
By the way, thanks for your uploads!

- I've heard-tell that there was actually an official soundtrack release for Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem in 2002. One of those Nintendo Power magazine store bits that nobody knew about.
I realize there's a stream rip of the stuff, but I'd like to know just what was contained in those 14 little tracks, since it's rumored that they were extended versions of what was in-game.
Anyone know anything about this? FLAC, maybe?
- by BtEO at 2:36 PM EST on March 5, 2009
- Hmm, that explains the 192kbps rip I have gathering dust in my massive collection of unsorted downloads.
Which is the preferred site for uploading such things, the tracker is not for OSTs from what I can tell.
- by SmartOne at 4:34 PM EST on March 5, 2009
- Left my computer on all night (and day) and no Peers. CyberSpark, post the words "I AM NOW LEECHING" and I'll start seeding. If you're not there, I won't be.
- by CyberSpark at 4:50 PM EST on March 5, 2009
- Oh sorry SmartOne, I didn't read your post until much later. :( Where's the link for me to click on?
- by SmartOne at 8:51 PM EST on March 5, 2009
- The Sendspace link is on the previous page. Don't forget to post the magic words. ;)
- by CyberSpark at 10:05 PM EST on March 5, 2009
- Yo SmartOne, 'I AM NOW LEECHING!' :)

I have an idea, simply rename the tracks to "273 SFX Batch A.flac", all the way to "296 SFX Batch X.flac", and have the long filenames covered in the tags, via Winamp? (or whatever player supports embedding said tags) ;)
Suggestion; should be taken with a grain of salt or whatever...
- by CyberSpark at 3:48 AM EST on March 6, 2009
- That's a good idea and all that but I should just warn you, again :), that changing the file name will make it so that the MD5 verification file that was included in the archive will not be albe to verify those files and, therefore, will add the extension: .bad to the end of those files (using HkSFV that is).

- Filenames that long are ridiculous. You can't do anything with them. I renamed mine. There should be a file integrity system that ignores filenames... Yeah, what he said.
Sorry, wasn't around last night, but I'm seeding now.

Though since the md5 file doesn't have any integrity checking of its own you can just modify the file name there.

- CyberSpark, is that you, the (1) Peer who is struggling to connect to my "Swarm?" Is your FlashGet client causing trouble? Try uTorrent.

Nice soundtracks on here lately.. UG has some goodies lately ^_^
