by bxaimc at 1:14 AM EST on November 14, 2018: See, the difficulty today lies within the PS4 security itself and not the game. Previous rips were accomplished through a kernel exploit in the PS4’s OS that allowed the installing and dumping of titles for...purposes, but things have been patched up along the way and newer games require higher firmware versions with such patches in place and can’t be dumped/decrypted without a new public exploit.

Proper Puzzle Arena Toshinden by 1337haXXor at 12:56 AM EST on November 19, 2018: Your upload reminded me I actually ripped all of the Toshinden games a while back for someone.

1-4 are on here, but 2 is only like a dozen .mp3 files, I have a few more tracks on 3, and I have the Japanese Puzzle Arena Toshinden and Battle Arena Nitoshinden. The last game is Toshinden Card Quest and I was able to extract about a dozen .SEQ, .VB, and .VH files, but could not for the life of me figure out how to put it all together, even using the toolbox.

Anyway, here's Puzzle Arena, fully ripped and tagged.

That guy had made an inline rip of the soundtrack. 22 tracks for 1 hour of music. So I hope a good soul will try to rip it once again. With another version like jap or uk.

Hard Edge and Atlantis were made available thanks to that community and I am really grateful thanks again to HCS.

by ArcticJaguar725 at 5:44 PM EST on December 4, 2018: @rcsb The inclusion of a BRSAR file alone is no indication of whether a game's music is streamed or sequenced. Take Animal Crossing: City Folk and most of the Wii Channels for example; those use BRSARs and are almost entirely sequenced. Meanwhile, Mario Kart Wii and Brawl both use primarily streamed music in spite of having BRSAR files included (though Mario Kart Wii's WiFi Menu music is actually sequenced).

If a game uses a BRSAR, probably the easiest way in most situations to tell if a game is streamed or sequenced is to look for the use of BRSTM files (the streamed files these games tend to use). If there are few or none, the game is probably sequenced.

That being said, take that advice with a grain of salt. Occasionally, BRSARs will hold the actual streamed files used in games. For instance, Wii Sports actually has its Main Menu music stored in a BRSAR.

I actually have a few more than the ones I already posted, and I looked up the decrypting process, so if I encounter no issues, I can have more Vita goodies posted here soonish!

BTW @marcusss, thanks for uploading Madelyn! I had tried to rip that myself, but none of the tools I had could extract that darn unity3D file! As for other uploads, I see the PC Musynx was already handled, and the four Wii Power Pros are in the queue, which is a pleasant surprise (was also unsuccessful in properly ripping that, so big thanks to whoever handled that!). Man, seeing those recent rips makes me feel I shouldn't wrap up this post empty-handed. Hmm, what should I add....? Oh, I know:

Or probably that static/hissing is entirely VGMstream doing, actually some *.wav files from Xbox have the same problems when played in VGMstream, the only way to get rid of (some of) it is to run those WAVs through towav.exe but unfortunately this method doesn't apply to TRL tracks.

BTW I can probably do Tomb Raider - Underworld for PC if anyone's interested.

Regarding Xbox one games, no rips are possible at the moment because afaik there aren’t any decrypted games out there (yet).

Also, I glanced at Injustice 2 a while back on PS4. Don’t remember why I never finished doing a rip of it. Maybe I’ll take a look at it once more later today.

ADX files extracted from AFS archives with QuickBMS.

Deka Voice was a Japanese exclusive PS2 game that required you to input voice commands in order to progress, just like with Lifeline (aka Operator's Side.) Music is nice, very jazzy.

Also I was trying to rip the PS2 versions of Chaos Legion & Dokapon Kingdom, but wasn't able to. Would anyone be willing to take a shot at them?

What BMS did you use? I know there's LAFS program, then some GUI tool named "AFS Explorer" or something (I haven't used it for years now) but I've never heard of any QuickBMS scripts made to perform the same routines...

I've just noticed that foobar2000 with the vgsteam component now handles the .SB4 files from Rainbow Six Vegas 1 & 2 (it didn't a few months ago). I assume the .SB0 files from the pc version are playable as well but I don't have access to those so I don't know.

I don't know who's to thanks for that, kode54 I assume, as I saw a few "Ubi SB files" mentionned in the updates record

Whoever did this, thanks a lot. I didn't check 100% of the files as there are thousands (7227 just for the french speech) and the music is mixed with some dialogues and sound effects. 99,9% of them are playable within foobar2000, with a tiny fraction that don't read, essentially the lightest files that would last no more than half a second if played I think.

It will take a lot of time to sort everything out, and I have to compare the files with those Ultrafighter gave me, but I'm not sure wether they were from RSV1 or 2, I downloaded again the archive from here but the files names don't match with the ones I found.

I'll look into it later, and if someone can point out to me the name of the good samaritan that made this possible, thanks in advance.
