The header of the rom has SEGA GENESIS text, consistent with USA region roms. Japanese and European games have SEGA MEGA DRIVE text instead.
If you can give me solid proof it's meant to be played at different ratio, I'll rerip the songs.

- Tim Follin has the 50hz recording on his website, so I'm going to assume that's how the music was originally written.

I never saw these in the archive when it still had stuff in it, so I'm sharing my rip. Only some of them are tagged because I never bothered to finish tagging all of them. This set uses Davironica's generic driver, with only the Tower theme not sounding right.
Also, were the dsf's from Marvel vs. Capcom ever included with the streams that were uploaded in the archive?

- Yea, my max upload speed is 128 kB/s, so reuploading everything back will take at least half a year.
NSF, SMS and GSF archives won't be back soon due to pmh/cmh work on them.
@Verth: I'm sorry to say, but the thing that interested me the most on your server (nsf dir) is unusable - it seems to miss all the m3u playlists. :(

- So... when will kode54's branch be included in "main" VGMstream? It'd make PSP collections much easier to use (I still have some sitting taking up space, since I don't know how to use them/convert them/whatever is necessary to get them to play).
I have 1 or 2 sets downloaded, but I have no way to upload them (here, there, or anywhere). Most of my internet access comes from McDonald's, Burger King, or the public Library. And it's usually on my way to or from work. :( I really don't have $50+ a month to spend on an internet connection (they advertise $20 a month, which might barely be within my budget, but it's not available in my area...).
Obviously, I'm sorry to hear the failure of the server. Good luck (and patience...) getting it back up. :( Mouser X over and out.

- The at3+ decoding is done by an external library, at3plusdecoder.dll, I assume it is this: MaiAT3PlusDecoder, which is LGPL. I think that means we'd be fine packaging it up with the main distribution.

- I still get errors when I try to play some at3 in foobar with the new vgmstream.
"Unable to open item for playback (Unsupported format or corrupted file)"
hcs, which at3 files did you successfully get playing? I want to see if it's on my end or the files i'm trying to play.
EDIT: ok so I got some files to play, so i'm guessing the files that don't play are not atrac3plus (anyway I can tell the difference?) btw the files in question are all in the Bleach: Heat the Soul series, if that helps.

- OK, now that's funny. I uploaded the full NES set 13 days ago at vgm-ssh.joshw.info! So I'm assuming nobody checked that place in first place. Last Modified dates for both !NES Music Archive (2012-11-06).7z and readme.1st are direct proof of this. Second, the file Specter published on the previous page was (at least) repacked, since the original was a 7-zip file, not a zip file!
And third, with nothing more to say, I can only wish the best luck to all of you.

- Hi, correction for "Zool: Mahou Tsukai Densetsu". It's actually "Majuu", as in "monster"; this game is a Pokemon/DQM-type thing. Also, I'm told that a "Ichiro Nemoto" was credited for composition instead of this "Takaheshi Yamazuke" guy; if it helps, this name is also credited for a previous Pandora Box game, Arabian Nights.
(The music is FUCKING AMAZING, by the way. I can't even find a bad song in here, maybe a misused one or something. Makes me so mad that composers like this are the ones that vanish forever, no wonder video game music sucks these days.)

- I want to thank Josh W for making a Super Robot Taisen 64 USF rip. I've wanted one of those for a very long time and I'm extremely happy to see someone finally take a crack at it.
That said, if you're ever able to check it out again, it could use some fine tuning. While a fair amount of songs are absolutely spot on, some sound very differently to how they are supposed to ("sparse1b", for example). I can imagine it's preety hard work to get it right, but it would be a shame if they remained this way when the others sound so great.
Regardless, thank you again for all your hard work.

edit: Oh no, don't tell me Gran Turismo is the US version only! Ugh, terrible soundtrack compared to the original. That they changed it back with GT2 says even more. Guess I'll have to find out how to rip it.
edit: gba.joshw and pmh: alternate name for F-Zero Maximum Velocity should be "F-Zero for Game Boy Advance"; Japan certainly uses this title, as per ja.wiki and Nintendo's site on the game (http://www.nintendo.co.jp/n08/afzj/). And I assume you're not tracking the Chinese title? Not gonna get started on the stupid colon thing.

- I'm going to rename them to fit our standard either way, but the data you have there should be enough not to make my work hard. :)
As for credits, just include a readme.txt file with each archive, I'm not going to remove them. I don't think we have another way to store rip credits in place.
Oh, and please make sure the set you're uploading isn't already on the site - well save me some work comparing them and checking whether our rip was missing something.

- I think it's even necessary to compare the rips! For example, I have always included all the movies that include music (properly demuxed of course), which, as far as I can see, isn't the case in your rips. And of course there may be cases where I may even have found more tracks for whatever reason.
So, how can I help with the process? Should I download each of your rips that is in my collection and compare?
BTW, is there any other place where you distribute this arcvhive to make it available to a broader community?

- Just FYI, while loads of sets on the site are mine, most were done by other people. It's true there might be some with missing content, obviously. Most of recent rips should have movie streams included, we just didn't have the tools to do so in 2005. :)
On that thought, there's really no need to download anything, just post a list of things you'd like to have checked (pastebin.com works for stuff like that), and I'll make SFV/MD5 checksum files for them so that you can them compare against your sets.
I don't really advertise much, VGM community isn't really that large, I guess most of people know about the site. OTOH, we don't really mind if someone posts about it elsewhere, IIRC, there's still a lot of bandwidth to spare on the server.

- I'll generate checksums for files inside the archives, so you'll have separate checksum values for bgm01.adx, bgm02.adx, etc in the set.
This should work for sets with untouched filenames - will let you check whether there's some additional files and/or different actual songs between the sets.

- Well, sometimes I've added a string to the filename (e.g. the name from the OST), so the method won't work in these cases. What it comes down to again: compare every rip.
FFShrine could come in quite handy here because there are quite some people who have time on their hands and would be willing to do the job. Would mean: I'd just upload and wait for others to compare. Of course I won't open a new topic posting your ftp information - for this little purpose you'd need to register if you don't mind. You may leave the rest to me. Not trying to persuade you to though but I like the looks of vBulletin forums better for the purpose of posting individual rips as you can establish a pseudo database.

- One important note is that the joshw.info archives typically use GENH headers for headerless data, so the original data can be easily extracted, and it is easy to identify what was headerless originally or not.
From what I recall, Alpha23 will add "real" headers to headerless data (SS2 for Sony ADPCM, etc...), making it challenging to identify which sets were headerless on disc or not. Maybe this has changed, but just something I recall from the past?
Just something to keep in mind, and to help identify what the joshw.info archives should contain, one (GENH) or the other (reconstructed "real" headers), or both?

- I don't exactly get the importance of identifying if the files had headers or not. Only thing I can think of is either usure fequency or some looping information inside the header (which would indeed be lost using my method).
But other than that I don't see that much of a difference as long as the stream specs aren't changed in the process. And sometimes it's not possible to use GENH headers (e.g. with l/r-split vag tracks, which can only be played correctly when joined to stereo).
Maybe I overlooked something?

These were taken from the US version but I used the Japanese name anyway. The music in this port also included music from "Vampire The Nightwarriors".

- Any news on when playing DSF files won't sound horrible anymore? I keep having to juggle around different aoDSF's depending on what I want to listen to and both aren't even close to the actual sound.

- DSF's will probably start sounding better when Yamaha AICA emulation improves. It's still imperfect in both MAME and DEMUL.
On another thing, should "Street Fighter 3 Double Impact" adp's be uploaded despite not currently being properly playable?

- I just realized that I uploaded Vampire Hunter at probably the wrong sample rate after comparing it to VGM's I was ripping. The proper sample rate is probably 31500, but I don't know for sure to be honest. Do I have to re-upload everything?

- No need, I can fix them myself, just let me know which value to use (compare with M1/MAME output if you're not sure).

- I have no idea for sure. I used 32075 originally because it sounded right at the time and it was already one of the sample rates listed, but that ended up sounding slightly higher pitched compared to a "Vampire The Night Warriors" vgm set I was making for myself. Came up with 31500 as the probable sample rate when resampling a wav in Audacity end then comparing to a recording from an official soundtrack. I'll probably end up playing the game through an emulator and recording music from there for a better source to compare to...
UPDATE: SSF has demanded they be played at 32000

- I would imagine it being the Naomi version as I haven't seen a Naomi to Dreamcast port that kept the sequenced music.
Edit: Maybe I'm wrong about that. I just looked at how small the Dreamcast version is... and looked at the release dates for dreamcast and naomi version's(DC:2002; Naomi: 2001)
EDIT 2: Yeah it's the dreamcast version, otherwise naomi would have been listed after the title.

I'm not sure... Uses 8bit pcm samples like Qsound games... I heard it uses a custom sound chip and that the vgm format supports it somewhat(http://vgm.mdscene.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=3224). Probably the only thing to do is record music from the soundtest menu and use that for whatever purpose...
