rrds problems with vgmstream by Athrador at 7:25 AM EDT on March 9, 2009
Following hcs's suggestion I open a new thread about this problem.
I don't think that there are many musics in rrds streamed format other than Ridge Racer DS (maybe I'm wrong), anyway I've noticed some problem hearing those songs.

In some tracks (strangely some other sounds ok at all) the music starts with the volume set to really low level, then it gradually grow up to normal after something like 20 seconds (if not worse).

It's really a problem of the vgmstream plug-in? Then why some other songs sounds right?

OK hcs, you fixed that in the latest rev.
lol delete this thread :P

Muffins are great by unknownfile at 11:55 AM EDT on March 9, 2009
Despite what you may think, this thread does not relate to muffins. Actually, it might, but I don't think it does. What I think it relates to is anything.

It's been a long time since the summer of 2005 when I was bored at summer camp. I have therefore decided that now, it is about time for me to be baking muffins once again.

Watch this thread for more information on the pastries and what becomes of them. They will be served fresh over here.

Can anyone share the music of a 3DO game called Guardian War (Powers Kingdom)? by xZabuzax at 1:33 PM EDT on March 17, 2009
This game have a damn nice soundtrack and i will be happy if anyone have the music streamed or in mp3. I'm downloading the music on a torrent file but is stuck to 90%, it have no seeders or leechers...

BTW kudos to the developers of "vgmstream", this is a damn nice piece of software.
in_cube Question by Rew at 7:54 PM EDT on March 17, 2009
Quick question about in_cube:

I'm using the in_cube plugin on Winamp to play some VG music tracks that are in .strm format. The trouble is, I can't edit the names of any of those tracks like I can the rest of the tracks on that game's playlist (those others happen to be in .mini2sf format and can be renamed as easily and conveniently as MP3s).

So how do I change the names of those tracks so they don't look so out of place on my playlist? Thanks!

EDIT:
Note that the music plays just fine (heh, for the most part)--it's only the lack of ability to rename that concerns me.

VGMStream being ported to AmigaOS4 - HELP! by spotUP at 1:40 PM EDT on March 20, 2009
A friend of mine is currently porting VGMStream to AmigaOS4, he is making a plugin for a music player called TuneNet. He will soon get to the point where we need as many different tunes in different formats as possible to test with, could you supply a test suite?

Is there an archive of tunes somewhere?

Im gonna post the 300MB bigfile tomorrow. But has anybody looked into the Wii game, eatch music file inside the big has the header MUSX and with data following it, i have tried to extract these segments by hex and load it into vgmstream with some extensions and it doesn't play, so i dunno what extension or Wii format it is, but here is an example of what is inside the hex until i can post the file.

MUSXi.`-.....@#.WII_............##P.~.........j.

That is the starting header for a track.
Megaman X7 streamed music by DChronos at 10:13 PM EDT on March 21, 2009
I'm uploading the entire folder of music code for Megaman X7 (26 songs, zip size is only 66.7Mb), as well as settings I was screwing with in GENH trying to find out what interleave it has, if any. Playing the files with vgmstream, which works fine, it plays through them and everything, but it plays at super speed. You can tell which song S01.ADS is due to its easily recognized opening, which is Conflict Stage. Songs seem to be in the same order as the soundtrack, too. Also, I recorded it playing this way and slowed the speed way down and can clearly hear notes of the song, so it must be able to be played in its current form, just has the wrong settings.

In GENH, I can only get it to come out one speaker, sounding like a tin can with static pops out the other speaker. Hopefully, someone can figure out how to play these in their original format, as the header seems to hold the loop point values.

In a hex editor, the header appears to be 96 bytes long, first stating SShd, and then under it, 4-5 values in hex.

Screwing with the values in in GENH, I can get it to be recognizable (using S01, as it was the easiest to recognize even in its current super speed form) using 96 as the header length, 2 channels, interleave of 200 or any value +- in 16 (like 216 or 184), and rate of 48000. Check my text file in the zip for loop point stuff... I don't know what they are, but like I said, I'm certain those values are in the header.

Anyway, hope someone else with more knowledge in these can get it running perfectly and get some kickass music going.

How to ripping SSF files by caius at 6:38 AM EDT on March 28, 2009
Hi all,
I'm trying to rip SSF files form Sega Saturn game.First I tried to use ssdump.py script by Kingshriek but I only manaed to dump one .SSF from each game (the one playng during the dumping..).
Then I came across VGMToolBox and his extraction tools but I didn't understand well how it works (what I have to put in "driver and source" path fields?).And I didn't understand where I have to install Python, in which directory.
Could anyone explain me better or point me to a tutorial?.I have nearly 1400 Saturn games and I'd want to extract music (sequenced music, obviously..) from them.
Thanks in advance.
Megaman X7 ripped by DChronos at 12:19 AM EDT on March 29, 2009
Here's the damn rip. 181 Mb, 26 tracks, 16 english cut scenes and 16 japanese cut scenes.
Megaman X7 music

Only one mistake I made, I labeled the folder and format in the text file as being [PS2 (GENH)] and PS2 AdPCM, since it's PS2 AdPCM in genh, and forgot the extensions were .ads. Someone can just change that.

Is there a list of what music is ripped? I have 250+ PS2 games, and have a few others I'd like to use some free time to get the music from, and if it's not ripped, maybe I'll post it. I already had some from Ar Tonelico II that I didn't have to mess with much.

By the way, Knurek, since I don't put up with bullshit attempts to slam me, it's dumb to respond by:
-stating the wrong number of times I asked about the loop start, and understating the answers
-stating that I ignored all your answers (yep, all one of them) after ignoring the entire part where I said that I misunderstood, and told you why, and also by blowing off the questions I asked... and I'd like to include that all the 4096 genh header junk that went on right after that, which I did not ask anything about, also led me to believe you both thought I was asking about that, and not the 40 byte file header
-saying I wondered why people are pissed when, no, it was about the jackass remarks
-implying I had made a big deal about things that were done with on the first page, and in fact, the bullshit didn't start until your jackass remark. Manako got pissed for something small, which was something I figured out while making the 120+ song files last year, and hadn't been wrong. It was dumb. Then he falsely accused me of making threats and saying his rips are flat out wrong
-and finally, for both you and bxaimc, saying I said I know better than you / have more experience after I posted saying I don't have much experience, I just know what I'm doing in general.

As for experience and knowledge about it, if I knew already, I wouldn't have made a thread asking about anything I wanted to learn about while ripping these so I knew why things were the way they were and what numbers were the right ones to plug in. I started the thread to have a well mannered discussion about the technical stuff to help me figure out all I needed to do, and asked a lot of questions I was curious about, expecting decent replies, not assy responses.

On a final note, you can't tell me that converting a hex number and plugging it into a program, using some trial and error and educated guesses, requires any real experience. Once you've learned how to rip these and use the right numbers one time, you're done. You know. One does not need to know the intricacies of how the program plays the music or about unrelated formats to do this.

I learned what numbers to plug into genh, and that's it. I learned how to handle the headers, and that's it. I know enough now to manually create a header, at least for a couple formats. I don't know everything.

At the same time, I don't need people acting like jackasses instead of being decent (you know, acting like an adult, you do know how to do that, right?) and informative. Flipping on jackass mode after one misunderstood answer is ridiculous, and continuing after I explained why I got screwed up, even moreso.

I could have gone into jackass mode in the same stupid manner after your misunderstanding my question about tagging these. I didn't say anything about tagging in the header. You had a way you tagged/labeled these sets for well over a year and a half, you should have understood the question. But I didn't. I asked again decently, and explained to avoid the mistake again. It was only one misunderstood answer.

Now, I'm done with the crap. I'm sorry I'm so tired that I didn't get it right away, and that I am busy with more important things to do that made it take a week. Take the rip and do what you want with it.

EDIT:
After listening through these, I want to punch whoever chose and did the voice acting for Axel and a few others in the English scenes...

Megaman X Collection streams by DChronos at 7:45 PM EDT on March 30, 2009
I'm starting a new thread for this.

As I said, I'm gonna rip Megaman X Collection.

I'm looking at the bin files, and have found out that the music is set up just like Gradius V, having the same ending marker on the last 2 lines, and the code looks the same, so I'm guessing these are the same kind of files as Dual VAG music.

The music IS all split into 2 tracks, one for left audio and one for right audio. I took a few minutes last night to use PSound to make WAVs out of the left and right audio tracks of a song, and then assigned them to left and right and played back the full stereo track in Audacity, and it matches.

The problem is this: All the music for each game is combined into a single BIN file, and none of the tracks have any header info, and nothing in particular stands out in the BIN file header, just the word "PACK" at the start.

I have to ask, first, what would be the likely place to find the music info that's needed, if you guys have a good guess.

Or, second, can genh add a header to each file, and have them labeled with an _L and _R to indicate left and right and have it play that way?

I'll screw around with it later, but if you guys have the solution already from another game that had the same thing, it would be really great.

EDIT:
I just found that you have a program to read those bin files, says they are Ogg Vorbis, except, if there's this program already, how come they aren't ripped yet, and why do they look just like the VAG files in Gradius V, with the same ending marker, same look to the hex code, and same split left and right audio?

Oh, and they don't play by just adding .ogg as a file extension, probably already know this.

EDIT 2:

Hey, I got something that plays, just don't think this is how it should really be done... I took the 2 files that contain each channel, combined them together in a single file, and made a genh file out of it.

I used these settings:
PS2 AdPCM
0 header
2 channels
playback rate of 32000
interleave 2377744 (The size of each individual channel file)

Hey, it works, and loops without a hitch, but what do you think...?

MMXC Test

EDIT 3:

Sorry about all the edits... Scratch that file, it isn't right, seems these are put in reverse stereo, so I also have to cut and paste the bottom channel on top of the one above it in order for it to play out the correct speaker. After flipping, though, it sounded exactly as it does on the OST.

All of em have worked fine so far, just has a lot to load when played.

House of the Dead: Overkill .rev files by Smoko at 12:37 AM EDT on March 31, 2009
Hey.

Some people I talk to and I are looking to rip the audio from House of the Dead: Overkill on Wii but we're not able to get very far. The audio files appear to be in archives with the .rev file extension. You can get understandable audio if you import it into Audacity as raw data and play with the sample rate. The problem is there's also a lot of white noise and it's either too fast or too slow.

And when opening them in a hex editor, near the end of the file there's a list of file names that are presumably stored within the .rev file. An example of this is:
music_icecreamtruck_loop.wav.str
music_icecreamtruck_loop.wav
music_l1_house_stream_01.wav.str
music_l1_house_stream_01.wav

Does anyone have any pointers as to where we should go from here? If you want I could upload some to work with but it would take a little while due to my slow connection.

Is it possible to use hcs's zerout00 for files WITHIN .brsar archives? by Quartoxuma at 5:30 PM EDT on April 2, 2009
Hi there! :)

Because of this thread and the tools hcs created to help Prime Blue I can now play "Twilight Princess" and "Super Mario Galaxy" without any sound effects. The music of both games is just gorgeous! :)

But now I have a problem: To play "Twilight Princess" and "Super Mario Galaxy" without sound effects you just have to use hcs's zerout00 on certain .aw files. But games like "WarioWare: Smooth Moves" and "Animal Crossing: City Folk/Let's Go to the City" seem to have all their sound effects and music files in its .brsar archives.
If I want to play those games with disabled sound effects I have to find a way to view the contents of the .brsar archives and then I have to look how to use zerout on files within an archive.
Another way would be to extract the .brsar archive, then use zerout on the certain files and finally repack all files to a new .brsar archive. (I know there is hcs's brsar_unpack, but in its current version it doesn't extract all files and cannot repack)

Any suggestions and/or help would be much appreciated. :)

.usf and a tracker. by Tom at 11:14 PM EDT on April 5, 2009
is there a .USF of tetrisphere or the new tetris? I changed azule lux.miniusf to .mod + a tracking program (madtracker, fasttracker 2, etc.) and got several samples that work, same with the new tetris.usflib

I played the .usflib in madtracker, but got very wiered sounds out of it. I thought if I get a .usf, I could modify the song or maybe create a new one out of those samples.

if there is a converter that converts a .miniusf to a .usf, it would be nice.

I've been looking around for collections of 2SF rips, including the one here and the one on Arc-Nova, but none of them have a rip of Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time/Darkness, despite having a rip of Blue Rescue Team. Is this because Time and Darkness recycle the soundtrack from Blue Rescue Team (of which I'm fairly doubtful), or has no one gotten around to ripping them yet? Anyway, I'd love it if somebody could make one.

Both the fontend and backend are currently under construction. In the current form, what you see is basically a database-driven frontend for the current dat set. Everything is coming along nicely, but the implementation of all planned features will take some time. Thanks to hcs for hosting the shit!

Hello. I've never been able to figure out how to get this type of music file to play. It's from either the game Warriors of Might and Magic, or Heroes of Might and Magic:Dragonbone Staff (both of them were for the PS2 and used the same/similar sound format)

Any help would be appreciated.

Super Mario 64: The Missing Stars (Rom Hack) by messiaen at 6:00 PM EDT on May 5, 2009
Hi!

Some of you will remind me from my thread about Mario 64 (and basically, Nintendo first-party) sequence format.

This is just to let you guys know that I finished my Super Mario 64 hack, called "The Missing Stars". It's the first ever complete Mario 64 hack and features, besides new levels, tons of custom music, including an original composition of mine.

Download it here:

The current plugin doesn't support this file type, so if you want to take a crack at these, go ahead. I'll post the link within a week or so, and I do mean it.

Ripping Super Mario Sunshine by Muzer at 1:40 PM EDT on May 23, 2009
Sorry if this has been discussed before, but I'm new to this forum, and a search didn't really reveal very much. I've seen a few rips of Super Mario Sunshine music on the internet, but most of them are in poor quality MP3s. How would I go about doing it myself? I've already got the ISO dumped using my Wii and have it mounted in wiifuse, I just need to know if there is anything that can decode the sequence.arc file (I know it's a sequence, but since dumps exist, I assume it's been figured out). If it hasn't been figured out, are there any efforts to do so?

Thanks,

Muzer.

Street Fighter IV Sound File by pietastesgood at 3:52 PM EDT on June 17, 2009
According to my friend this file is compatible with vgmstream.

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=PGC8GGYI

I am new to vgmstream, I have all the plugins in their proper places in the winamp folders, the lib dlls in the main folder and the in_vgmstream dll in the plugins folder.

However, when i try to play the music file above, winamp simply says that the song is 0 secs long and it does not play.

Any idea as to why it does this, and is there a way I can make it play?

Thanks in advance!

I want to get the music from Zoids Legacy, so I've tried ripping it with saptapper and running it through gsfopt, but gsfopt says it's an unknown format. I found this forum through google, and apparently the problem is that the game uses a different driver or something.

Or documentation for the creation/ripping of such formats? I know there's some NSF/e and PSF docs out there, but someone has to have gathered all that they could find together in one place, right?

Mainly I want to reassure myself that I'm not going to be able to magically create a Neo Geo Pocket (Color) format out of thin air and no experience.

The Conduit just came out today, and from the samples i've heard the score is going to be great. However, the game is divided into many small archives with the extensions gcs and gcm. I can see riff headers but the archives somehow seem to be compressed.

Here is a gcs file:

Gcm file:

Seems like the gcm's don't have music though.

Can someone tell me if this can be decompressed?

Thanks in advance!

GBA to MIDI questions by Elven Spellmaker at 8:51 PM EDT on July 2, 2009
I have used GBA to MIDI version 0.8.0 (If this isn't the latest version then a link to a newer one would be great! =))

There is an option to export the samples used, and I have created a SoundFont with all the samples in it. (Except the drum track which I need to work out how to do. =/)

However there are a few presets that appear as 44 byte WAVs and have no audio data.

Now I have just realised that they could be Hardware Generated Sounds and this program may not be able to extract that. (Sine, Saw waves etc.)

Is there a way of extracting/producing these sounds somehow for use in this SoundFont?
Could a flash applet play emulated music formats? by Dais! at 9:09 PM EDT on July 2, 2009
Recently I was musing over yet another aimless thought, concerning non-hateful ways to embed music into web pages. MIDI embeds of the Geocities sites of yore are of course straight out, conventional sound files embedded as SWF can be quite annoying and Youtube is no real solution at all.

Then I recalled that over at the Sonic Retro Wiki, quite a few pages had a simple mp3 player for playing music tracks on pages concerning soundtracks and rips. Unlike a lot of flash applets (cough youtube cough), having a large number of these embedded on a single page didn't make Seamonkey (don't ask) want to kill itself (or succeed in doing so). They also seemed to function quite nicely.

The applet is Dewplayer, a free little flash mp3 player you can just grab and put on your site, assuming you're actually thinking intelligently about the bandwidth such a move will cost you. This seemed pretty ideal for my theoretical, vaguely-defined purposes.

But it occurred to me then....could you make a flash applet that would mimic the effect of a music player such as Audio Overload or other non-plugin utility dedicated to playing emulated music formats? I mean, I have to admit I don't really understand what goes on between the hardware and software when I tell my system to play such things, but I assume it must be possible in some way or another.

So I guess my question is more....could such a flash applet be reasonably made by someone dedicated enough to make it? Something that could read an SPC or perhaps even an NSF or PSF-variant from a server and play it as if were an mp3 through Dewplayer?

The "reasonably" is the key part. I'm not asking if it's within the realm of possibility (I'm sure it is), or if it could be knocked together in a few days, but if it could be made by a reasonably competent flash programmer without driving them mad first.
Any Good Wii Homebrew Stuff? +How To SoftMod by wolupgm6 at 3:34 AM EDT on July 3, 2009
I recently SoftModded my Wii with BannerBomb and installed the Homebrew Channel (along with BootMii and DVDx).

I currently have Snes9xGx, VisualBoy Advance GX, FCE-Ultra, Super Mario War Wii And DOSBox Wii. Are there any other Homebrew applications that I should know of? I've checked on wiibrew.org, and there's not much there that I'm interested in.

Anything will do, but my preference is a N64 emulator. It doesn't matter if its in beta stage or is incomplete. I only have the Wii64 current build off sourceforge.

Packing CSB files? by lemon flavour at 10:30 AM EDT on July 8, 2009
Long story short, I'd like to replace some of Street Fighter IV's music with tracks of my own choosing. I can extract the files from the CSB, but how would I go about putting them back together?
GYM Sets by holyice7 at 1:31 PM EDT on July 8, 2009
I'm wondering how the old Genesis format GYM is timed and ripped. I'm trying to listen to one of my favorites, Sonic 3D Blast, but half the tracks are cut off before the end, like some idiot timed them, and the format seems to have been been put out of use by VGM, which is a shame, since the emulation for Genesis in VGM sounds like crap.

What can I do to fix this almost ten-year-old GYM set?

Aarrgghh!! Stupid Gamecube Formats! by wolupgm6 at 5:34 AM EDT on July 10, 2009
Hey guys, as you probably know, recently I managed to SoftMod my Wii. This allowed me to backup ISOs of both Wii and GC games to my computer. I was wondering if any of these games' (list provided at the end of post) audio formats are playable, and if so, how to get them to a playable state. Basically, what I'm asking for is that if anyone knows how to get any format of these games' (once again, list below) audio playing, to tell me how. All I have is extracted ISO's (using GC-Tool).

List Of Games, As Mentioned Above:
Super Mario Sunshine (I Doubt Sequences Have Been Figured Out)
Luigi's Mansion (Doubt It)
Starfox Adventures (Doubt It)
Goldeneye: Rogue Agent
Pitfall: The Lost Expedition
Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc (I Believe ADPCM, But Am Unsure)

And Where Did The Good Old StreamDB (Formerly GCStreamDB) Go To? I Think I Found An Older Version Here, Is There A More Recent Version?

Exists a useful .XA ripper? by Koto at 3:07 PM EDT on July 17, 2009
Hi. I'm trying these days extracting XA files from PSX games, but there's no way for doing it.

XAEX just sucks, always says that the driver isn't ready.

PSXMC founds XA files and convert it in WAV ones, but don't let me extract it.

There's any method that let me get the files in my pc? Thanks

Metroid Prime 2 Echoes Demo DSP by valiant at 7:08 PM EDT on July 24, 2009
Hey there, hcs!

I've just recently started properly ripping the first two Metroid Prime games since all the previous releases were not very satisfying. The first title is already done and will be released soon, but I've got a problem with the second one. Since I always include all beta and trailer tracks in my rips, I got my hands on the Metroid Prime 2 Echoes Bonus Disc and, playing the demo, found some compositions different from the final releases. The THPs and RSFs play just fine with vgmstream (using the latest revision), though most DSPs won't play.

Three of the DSP files are working anyway, they just sound a little off (played back at half the original tempo and with the pitch just as low):

dark.dsp
first-ruins.dsp
ridley.dsp

Those tracks were originally from Metroid Prime, so they could be some intermediate test tracks for the new DSP format. I uploaded the files with corrected pitch and tempo and included their Metroid Prime DSP counterparts. It seems that the demo files are the exact same as the left channel DSPs from the first game once they are corrected.

The other sound files are still up on the old mirror.

I'd appreciate if you could look into it and fix the track playback for one of the future releases.
GSF's of Gamecube-Gameboy Advance Link Cable Roms by jurassicPieter at 9:38 AM EDT on July 29, 2009
I extracted the GBA MB-Roms from Wario World, Sonic Adventure, Phantasy Star Online, Pokemon Colosseum and Animal Crossing.

With a MB2GBA file i can change it in a working gba rom as long it's not waiting for a connection with the gamecube.

I see tiny chao garden is already done as gsf, but i'm interested to see if other GSF's can be made, in particular the Animal Crossing NES Advance Play, the PSO GBA Mini-games and Animal Island.

Sadly Animal Island doesn't work without Gamecube connection.

The advance play versions of the NES games play perfectly, and with rom2gsf i even get to hear the title music playing. These are the easiest to rip i guess, since you can convert a nsf to a nes rom and inject the rom. I know a little ASM, not particular the GBA one though.
vgmstream equivalent for sequenced files by jurassicPieter at 6:23 AM EDT on August 4, 2009
I'm thinking of working on an equivalent of vgmstream for sequenced music. First reason I want this is that my winamp plugin map is a mess. Often the file formats are associated with multiple input plugins.
Second, it's easy to make a container format that contains a soundfont(or reference to it) and a midi. There's extended midi with soundfonts added to it, but it's very badly supported to make them.
Third, it might be a good start to figure out unknown sequenced formats, like many gamecube titles. Or embed a stream and mix it with sequences, like they did with Super Mario Galaxy.

The only difference with vgmstream is that it needs a custom container file format instead of playing the originals.

my idea was to make a container file format that works with the typical chunks structure.

char[4] signature;
uint32 size chunk;
char[size] data;(could contain subchunks)

for example a midi with soundfont would look like this:

MAIN chunk
size of file
player number: 0x0001 = midi with embedded soundfont
--IDV3 chunk
--size of tagging info
--tagging info, like artist, looping, etc.
--MIDI chunk
--size of embedded midi-header
--midi-file
--DLS chunk
--size of embedded dls-header

the player number is used to get the right playing information:
0x0000: midi with general midi soundfont gm.dls in windows\system32\drivers\
0x0001: midi with embedded dls-header
0x0002: midi with external dls-file
0x0003: play midi file with 8-bit sounds
0x0004: sseq with embedded sbnk/ssar-file(s)
0x0005: sseq with external sbnk/ssar-file(s)
0x0006: IT/XM/S3M
etc.

and what extension and name should this plugin have?

suggestions are welcome. If people find it a good idea i plan starting making a skeleton code that should make it easy to write a player that just has to send sequence data and soundbank information.

Where to find Paper Mario 2 music? by Franpa at 1:54 AM EDT on August 6, 2009
Hello, where can I find the games music files? I am not sure if they are streamed or not so if they are and they can't be played then just say so and I'll look for MP3's.

Is there an FTP here for game music or is that still private access only?

Pokémon Gold/Silver/Crystal GBSs by agu fungus at 10:35 AM EDT on August 6, 2009
I recently checked out the GBSs for these Pokémon games, and both files are missing the fanfare songs. Pokémon Red/Blue/Yellow has their respective fanfares, so why not add the GSC fanfares to their respective files?

Nintendo Puzzle Collection by nensondubois at 7:30 PM EDT on August 12, 2009
Let me guess: This game's audio is sequenced because it doesn't work with VGMstream and the audio format is .seg, am I right? I have the game and would like to hear it's music. I also have dobutso no mori + v.01 and I know that that music is sequenced so I'm not going to ask about that game. I tried renaming the file extension to .dsp amd to .adp in hope that Winamp may recognize it but no luck.

Warriors Might and Magic SND by lordskylark at 6:15 PM EDT on August 14, 2009
Before you were able to add support for the Heroes of Might and Magic SND files, and I had thought the Warriors of Might and Magic used the same format, but it is different somehow.

This one works fine from Heroes of Might and Magic (and the rest from that game):

Here is one from Warriors of Might and Magic:

Resident Evil Remake for GameCube Audio Format by pietastesgood at 11:13 AM EDT on August 15, 2009
Seems that the GameCube remake of Resident Evil 1 uses some sort of DSP variant.

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=B5HRIG2I

It won't play with VGMstream with the extension dsp however. How can I make this readable in vgmstream, or at least, play this file somehow?
