Unknown Format by bxaimc at 5:48 PM EDT on May 11, 2008
Does anyone know what audio format Tekken Tag Tournament and Ridge Racer V uses?

Hi, at first, Tekken Tag Tournament uses a format that we call "TGT", it's ADPCM with Interleave Markers (implemented in in_cube)

Ridge Racer V, i don't know... is it PS2 or PSP? If yes, then it is maybe NPSF, otherwise interleaved ADPCM i think!

cU mana :o)

I see. How can i extract these ADPCM files, through a hex editor?

hi bxaimc,

the TGT format has no existence in fact.
I slighty modify the ADPCM format to suit in_cube and to be able to manage loop points ...

Ridge Racer V use MIB (2 & 4 voices (yes 4!)).

for extraction, you can help yourself with my adpcm tool ( here : Snakemeat's Homepage

enjoy

Thanks fastelbja :)

The extractor works with Tekken Tag Tournament but when i use it for RRV, it doesnt work. Also some music files don't work when their file extension is changed to TGT

as said before, view my adpcm tool like a helper tool, not as a "perfect ripper".

it permit you to identify where the adpcm files are located.

for RRV, which platform do you rip it from ?

i have a iso here that says there are headerless adpcm stuff (known as MIB).

you can make a iso of your dvd and scan the all iso with my tool.
files are sometimes hidden from the file system.

tell me if it works better this way.

Oh, i see. Well RRV is a PS2 game and i'll try it again in iso form.

Nope, doesn't work that way either. :(
