Kingdom Hearts 2 Extraction by bxaimc at 7:19 PM EDT on May 16, 2008
How Can I extract everything out of the KH2.img file found in Kingdom Hearts 2. I know that in that file are alot of VAG voice files along with the fmv vids. This img file is 3.66GBs
@bxaimc - It's pointless to keep asking the same question over and over again, as you already know the answer - either upload the file so someone can check it out, hex them out yourself or code an extractor!!! It's plain and simple as that.
Please, the next time you come across a file that contains streamed video game music, don't ask "how do I?", simply ask "can someone please write an extractor?". As i've said before, it only takes a matter of minutes to make one. Most important, though, upload the file first!!! If the file is too large (eg, this particular case), hex out the first 0x1000 bytes, and upload that. It should be enough for one to make a proper extractor.
@agu fungus - If they are encrypted, as you say, then you'll have to wait until someone actually cares enough to decrypt or decipher them. Harsh, I know, but sadly that's the way it is. :/
I think he is hoping that a tool already exists and that he can simply retrieve that rather than uploading lots of data. See, for instance, this thread. (in fact, it's possible that the ADPCM player will be helpful in this case)
MarkGrass is right, though, that uploading the first few kilobytes would, in the absence of an existing tool, allow the creation of a new one. This doesn't often occur to people, though, who aren't familiar with these types of files.
@ MarkGrass - heh, sorry if i keep on asking "how do I...". I'll just upload it. I'll Upload the first 0x1000 bytes and see what comes up.

@ hcs - I originally used the ADPCM player to extract some voice VAGs but it stops and won't look any further, so i end up with an incomplete set of files.
@ agu fungus - I dont think the files are encrypted because i managed to get some out of the KH disc.
