I should say that I host the streams for two games so far, including .bat scripts that switch between tagged filenames and original filenames:

Disaster: Day of Crisis

Mario Party 8

I also upload source files for the Brawl Originals project with tagged and timed playlists, including any relevant streams:

Hmmm. Got the latest version of vgmstream and they're working fine now. Didn't notice anything mentioned about .fsb recently, so I didn't expect that'd be an issue. Oh, well. Never mind.

Any chance for Harvest Moon Magical Melody? It's on both Wii and Cube
Akumajo Dracula X: Gekka no Yasokyoku (Saturn) by jperez at 6:52 AM EST on February 14, 2009
Hi everyone,

I'm new here at least in regards to posting. I've trolled here before just to look at the various things going on.

I wanted to post the link to an ADX collection I put together for the PSX/Saturn game, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night/Akumajō Dracula X: Gekka no Yasōkyoku.

I had to convert it from Saturn PCM to ADX since in_cube doesn't play them right and in_vgmstream doesn't play them at all.

Loop points and everything are perfect with the Saturn version, plus the Saturn version had better looping then the PSX version. I based the collection off the OST for Symphony of the Night. Only two tracks are missing and those are track 14 - "Land of Benediction" and track 19 - "Silence".

Track 14 is the game over screen. The actual OST has the very short song without the voice over saying "Game Over" as where the Saturn and PSX version have the voice over in the track. Track 19 was too short to be bothered to include. Sounded like Genesis FM synthesis.

Here are the tracks included:

01 - "Metamorphosis"
02 - "Prologue"
03 - "Dance of Illusions"
04 - "Moonlight Nocturne"
05 - "Prayer"
06 - "Dracula's Castle"
07 - "Dance of Gold"
08 - "Marble Gallery"
09 - "Tower of Mist"
10 - "Nocturne"
11 - "Wood Carving Partita"
12 - "Door of Holy Spirits"
13 - "Festival of Servants"
14 - ***Not Included***
15 - "Requiem For the Gods"
16 - "Crystal Teardrops"
17 - "Abandoned Pit"
18 - "Rainbow Cemetery"
19 - ***Not Included***
20 - "Lost Paintings"
21 - "Dance of Pales"
22 - "Curse Zone"
23 - "Enchanted Banquet"
24 - "Wandering Ghosts"
25 - "The Tragic Prince"
26 - "The Door to the Abyss"
27 - "Heavenly Doorway"
28 - "Death Ballad"
29 - "Blood Relations"
30 - "Metamorphosis 2"
31 - "Final Toccata"
32 - "Black Banquet"
33 - "Metamorphosis 3"
34 - "I am the Wind" (Cynthia Harrell)

Here's the link:

-Removed until new album is posted-

Enjoy!

I had to convert it from Saturn PCM to ADX since in_cube doesn't play them right and in_vgmstream doesn't play them at all. <-- this is wrong, at first it isn't PCM, it is Interleaved DVI ADPCM, just rename to "xxx.dvi" if it isn't already this and they play fine... saves a lot of work! :)
If you have unplayable files in the future please ask in the forum, in most cases it's only renaming to the correct extension...

However, it's nice to see a complete album here, the first one if i remember correctly, many many thanks! :o)

BGM that exists in the PlayStation version is also a little different.
by jperez at 1:50 AM EST on February 15, 2009
I just based those tracks off the OST. I'll do a full rip of ALL the Saturn tracks in their original DVI format. Once that's done, bascially that ADX stream package will be useless.

Thanks for that info mana!

Hmmm... How do I get the Mario Strikers Charged streams to play? They're saved as IDSPs, but they don't seem to play in WinAmp(and I've got the most recent version of vgmstream, so that shouldn't be the issue this time. :P).

Here's a nice small example file if it's needed:

Did anyone ever rip/compile the streams from Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne (Maniacs version, of course)? I'm rather interested in hearing the battle theme variations.

Did anyone ever rip/compile the streams from Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne (Maniacs version, of course)? I'm rather interested in hearing the battle theme variations.

I know the battle variations for DDS1 and DDS2 are a headerless AT3. I know some of the variations of the SMT3 battle tracks are in the SMT3 PSF2 rerip. Specifically, track numbers 108 (cuts off), 116, 118, and 201. Perhaps more are in the Unknowns (there are a lot of them) that just need to be identified.

For the movies on the disc (the .IPS ones have sound), I wrote an audio extractor and posted it, along with the GENH headers, here. Just copy the .IPS movies into the extracted .zip folder and run the .bat file. You can then enjoy the music using vmgstream.

Please let me know if any music is missing.

EDIT: The rip kit is for the Chonicle Edition btw.

oh, sweet, thanks. I had an old rip of mainly Nocturne tracks that I thought indicated most of the stuff was streamed. I doubt I can identify anything more, but this is very nice to have.

Seems like it might not be the definitive rip, though...just listening to the Beezlebub battle theme, it seems some stuff is missing from some of the songs. Oh well, can't win 'em all.
by Dais! at 4:41 PM EST on February 26, 2009
actually, I may have been wrong about not being able to identify anything more:

ZZZ Unknown 0044_00.minipsf2 is the Level Up theme
ZZZ Unknown 0062_01.minipsf2 is track 2-17 from the OST (Large Map ~Last Area~)
ZZZ Unknown 0196_01.minipsf2 is track 2-19 from the OST (Yahiro no Himorogi)

strangely, none of the variations of the Normal Battle theme seem to be there. I only learned about such variations from HG101:
http://hg101.classicgaming.gamespy.com/megaten/megaten5.htm

I also noticed guitars are missing from some other tracks, like 1-18 and 2-01.

I hate to say this, but it looks like another re-rip is in order at some point. Unless, and this is me talking out my ass, the game does some weird thing where it plays sequenced music with streams overlaid at certain points. (I'm not even sure that's possible, of course...)

I believe multiple sequences can be played at once, but I don't know if such behavior is supported by the PSF2RipKit.

Just a note, and I'll be making this point in a little readme notice on /gratia as well:
I don't mind if you download a lot of stuff, that's what the thing is here for. But please, don't use a download manager that makes simultaneous connections. I probably won't notice, but if I do I'll unceremoniously block your IP.
I just banned a guy who had something like 10 connections going at once, each grabbing a few hundred KB at a time. Yes, this optimizes the experience for you, but it was like a mini-DOS for the rest of the site.

To IUnet/Infostrada guy:
If you're reading this, I'll unban you once I stop seeing your requests pouring into my log, if I remember to exercise that goodwill.

"The 2nd copy protection employed is the deliberate inserting of noise and errors into the audio, that is right you heard it right, music companies were intentionally inserting errors into the discs, the idea being that CD players would interpolate (silence) the errors out, where as a computer would not (but could be done in software), either way playback on any device would have a sub-optimal rendition."

What happens if you put it into a CD ROM drive. i.e. the disc cannot be written to. Or doesn't it read in a CD ROM drive?

Anyone got Megaman Network Transmission dsp? I saw a thread about it and recently heard how good the music was. Dying to get to listen to Needleman and Elecman's stages as well as Pharaohman and the Undernet, and would take just those 4 songs for the moment and wait for a full upload if someone has those 4.

Thanks in advance if someone's willing to put those 4 up on sendspace or somethin'.

I plan to upload Megaman X Collection to the tracker when I complete it (and go check out the info I need to make the torrent), just haven't had much time... again... but I'm halfway done.

Hello, may I request for the stream set from the japanese version of Klonoa Wii? Also, some of the tracks have to split because of its multiple channels, so is it possible to do that, too?
by bxaimc at 11:46 PM EDT on May 6, 2009
The tracks don't have to be split
by agu fungus at 11:50 PM EDT on May 6, 2009
Then how do I play them in vgstream? As far as I know, the downloadable set of Super Mario Galaxy had their dynamic tracks separated into single tracks, because they could not be played altogether.

And that was what, a year ago? VGMstream handles as many channels as the stream files contain. If there's a problem, it's a limitation of your hardware/media player, not VGMstream (at least, this is what I've seen). This was fixed quite awhile ago. It's one of the reasons that Okami was redistributed. HCS split that one up, but once VGMstream had the proper multi-channel support, the unaltered version (as in, original, off the disk data) is what was passed around, and is what you'll find on HCS's site now. So yah, I very strongly doubt the files are going to be split. Though, using VGMstream, you can split the files if you want. It'll output mult-channel WAVs, which can be split using a WAV editor. There might be other methods, but that's the one I know of off-hand. Mouser X over and out.

If you do want to split the tracks, I've updated Revolution B (now 0.3) to extract up to 8 channels. You can then rebuild pairs into stereo brstm if you like.
It would go like this for a 4 channel brstm:
revb.exe --extract many.brstm 1.dsp 2.dsp 3.dsp 4.dsp
revb.exe --build first.brstm 1.dsp 2.dsp
revb.exe --build second.brstm 3.dsp 4.dsp

I just tested it out with Mario Kart Wii, all I had to change was the maximum channel count and it reads them fine. Have to add building support for that some time, and PCM...

While I thank you for putting it up, this is not the version I was looking for. I'm looking for the Japanese set. The American set has track 52 (Title Screen) in different languages minus Japanese. That's why I'm looking for the Japanese stream set.

@marcusss:
There are xwav files inside the xwb. Use EkszBox-ABX to extract the files and then rename the file extensions to .xwav

Thanks for your help. Will try it out when I get home ^_^

Actually it asks for vcl100.bpl which I do not have.. I do not use C++. Any chance there is a version without that required file or if you can provide a link to it? :-) Would be grateful

True, only the "whahoo" in the title (bgm052.brstm) is different, i compared both games... in fact it was a waste of 4.37gb download!

Klonoa Stream Set by agu fungus at 9:08 PM EDT on May 10, 2009
OK, so I finally extracted the japanese Title Theme from the japanese version, as well as the other tracks. I also took the time to split all the dynamic tracks, and renamed all the tracks with the names from the CD OST. Here's the download link:

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=8MXYFXJ3

The archive includes:
All songs with the OST names.
One folder with the original unsplit dynamic tracks and duplicates.
And one folder with all the Vision Clear jingles. The thing is that they seem to be played in surround sound because of the number of channels each tracks contains. Vgstream has yet to support that kind of tracks, so I'm including them anyway.

Enjoy people.

vgmstream supports all the tracks in that set. If your output plugin can't handle it that's another story.
