Sweet, you have my wholehearted gratitude for Tokyo Xanadu, fastelbja! Actually, I'd like to add another three requests if it's not too much trouble: Ys: Memories of Celceta, and Legend of Heroes: Zero and Ao no Kiseki Evolution. Yeah, I'm a real Falcom junkie, lol. Again, thanks if you could look into those!

I'd like to make two requests:

-Final Fantasy Record Keeper
-Final Fantasy Brave Exvius

If someone could rip the music from these games, I would be very grateful.
by banshiryuu at 4:12 PM EDT on November 1, 2016
I think I looked into those (well, Record Keeper; oddly enough I don't play RK but I do play FFBE and I didn't look into it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯) and unfortunately a lot of the music for events seems to be unavailable unless someone ripped them and put them up somewhere, you'd have to go looking for it and I don't have much time for spelunking atm.
by MurraySkull at 2:47 AM EDT on November 2, 2016
Yeah, very little of the music for Brave Exvius is actually in the .apk.
by banshiryuu at 7:19 PM EDT on November 4, 2016
Actually, before I forget and we're on the topic of Square games, I looked into Romancing SaGa: Minstrel Song recently since from what I've seen people have talked about it a lot but no one has actually posted a rip so far. I rather luckily found a nice resource for the PS2_ADPCMconv tool that confirmed that the data is the same as Dawn of Mana, and while the US version won't work with the tool to help find offsets and stuff, the area of the sound data is similar to the Japanese version. I started a VGMToolbox adpcm search at the offset suggested ($e051e000) but I'm not sure where it begins and how much this cutoff.

I did a "worlds literal dumbest hackjob" copy paste of a header from a Dawn of Mana song onto the data starting at $e4972270~$e551a7f0 and found it to be Decisive Battle! Saruin so at least I know it's still possible to rip it, but my abilities kinda end there with nothing really to show for it. If someone would be able to actually figure out stuff I would be eternally grateful for a proper rip of this amazing soundtrack!

Haha disregard what I said earlier, I figured Minstrel Song out after all. I still gotta fix some stuff, but I've separated a lot, if not all, of the music data in the game so even if I can't get headers put together (thanks ps_adpcmconv for the error) it should be much easier for others to take a look at.

And Have you find a solution about it ?

edited 1:18 PM EST December 18, 2016
by bxaimc at 8:47 PM EST on December 18, 2016
No, it's not headerless.

It's either encrypted or compressed. I'm leaning more towards encrypted.

If you look at it, the first 4 bytes signifies the rough file size not accounting some extra data. As far as what that data is and how big it's supposed to be is beyond me.

Next, if you look at the next set of bytes after the 32bit file size entry, all of the files seem to begin with this set: 0xC58BD4F1.....and so on. This is usually an indicator for compression or encryption but I can't recognize the magic bytes for typical compressions schemes used in iOS stuff so that's why I'm leaning towards encryption. Don't take my word for it, just my 2 cents here. Feel free to look into it more in depth :)

Also, plain ogg vorbis is sort of a blocked format and you can tell by spotting OggS in plain text scattered throughout a file.

Some random things to jot down. Sorry if it's off-topic.

Steins;Gate PC loop date pointers are not formatted in the .ogg files, it is located in the script container instead (nss.npa → ... function.nsb). It doesn't follow the "samples" format, it instead follows the "time" format (hr:mn:sc.xxx).

Example string in decimal and hex respectively:

B.G.M.1.8.....b.g.m.1.8.....4.0.9.4.8.....2.1.1.5.1.4..)

420047004D00310038000A000000620067006D00310038000A000000340030003900340038000C0000003200310031003500310034001F29

start length: 40.948 seconds
end length: 2 minutes and 11.514 seconds

Crackdown (Riot Act) (2007-02-20)(Realtime Worlds)(Microsoft Game Studios) - it's a pretty old streamed rip of mine but I never posted it here as I'm not sure it really qualifies to high standards of that enormous collection hosted on joshw.info. Long story short UnXWB seemingly identified music.xwb as a valid bank but didn't find a single audio file there! That's why I simply chose to split the bigfile, add a typical ToWAV recognizable XMA header to each resulting 60+ minute suite and of course wrote a pretty precise timing for every composition while listening to decoded WAVs (everyone is able to find his most favorite song(s) there and jump straight to it). It's still a gamerip where each track is left in its native format I guess? In any case anyone who's able to rerip the title in question better is more than welcome, I'd be immensely glad to revisit such a great and long soundtrack if any alternative rip ever surfaces. You can easily reconstruct original wavebank with a QuickBMS script by Alpha23 and archive header (the very beginning of music.xwb) I included in my release. Just strip the headers of each bank part (#1-8) then glue all of them together in a specific order and place music.arc_head in the beginning of it. Any takers?

Also anyone remotely interested in Over G fighters score? I encountered some problems while ripping the game but maybe they can still be fixed. Unfortunately I didn't know of this solution when I ripped that old flight sim where 100% BGM was in that wave variation as well as Perfect Dark zero (like 90% action and ambient themes, CS tracks & club ambiences was apparently in reversed PCM too). I think I should have chosen the easiest way out of the trouble and simply zip up untouched XWBs to be converted with help of ToWAV like I did in my rip of Conan (2007) for X360 but... Anyway no one can prohibit someone to make a newer nicer VGM set, am I right?

Goodbye, all the best!

I originally posted these back in 2015 but I don't see a reason why I shouldn't repost them with some small explanations:

WWE SmackDown! Here Comes the Pain [Exciting Pro Wrestling 5] (2003-10-27)(Yuke's)(THQ): match & UI BGM with most short themes (30 seconds or less) borrowed from "WWF SmackDown! Just Bring It" or "WWE Smackdown! Shut Your Mouth" (now in ADX as well as entire score) and fully tagged contestant songs, the ones that play during their entry to the stadium and ultimately the ring;

WWF SmackDown! Just Bring It [Exciting Pro Wrestling 3] (2001-11-18)(Yuke's)(THQ): Videos in PCM (not too much playtime despite the size), Ingame, menu & interface tracks in ADPCM and finally Wrestler entrance themes in ADS too;

I bump these old rips of mine not merely because they're currently absent in streamed VGM collection but because "Here comes the pain" rerip is a must-download for anyone who still has only truly ancient MP3 (line-in?!) version with half fight tracks missing. "Just bring it" action pieces are meh to me but someone who truly enjoyed "WWF Smackdown! 2" original score may like it more than I did. If they make it here this time it'll make me really proud! I don't see why these soundtracks ripped preserving their native encoding aren't worthy to be mirrored in HCS64 giant library of streamed sets!
Bye!

OK. I have the at3 plugin installed on my computer. I also have AT3 added in winamp's directshow decoder.

Yet it fails to play the files from the Super Robot Taisen Masou Kishin games, for example.

And what, pray tell, are msf files?

edited 7:49 PM EST February 9, 2017
by Ultrafighter at 9:00 AM EST on February 10, 2017
You seemingly got this old solution while you could choose VGMstream for either FB 2K or XMP/Winamp. The latest version of VGMStream for all those players supports AT3, AT3+ & both aforementioned formats in MSF containers so you can play all *.at3 or *.msf files directly. Even if you stumble upon some currently unplayable tracks just report them here and developer will fix 'em.

I guess your problem is that you attempt to listen to BGMs encoded using ATRAC3+ codec while that ancient FDDShow (or something) plugin only supports older format named ATRAC3 (both use the very same extension, *.at3, mind you). Also if you have that plugin successfully installed you can also open AT3s in an audio editor of your choice (Sony Sound Forge for example).

Goodbye, I suppose I was relatively helpful and didn't simply waste your time by an attempt to assist you in getting rid of that trouble. Take care!

PS. There're at least 3 variants of ATRAC3+ and they have the following extensions: *.at3, *.aa3 & *.oma. That's all for now, bye!
by Ultrafighter at 9:37 AM EST on February 10, 2017
Hey Bnnm, sorry for possible confusion in regards to Evolution skateboarding: I apparently listened to its streamed gamerip from PS2, not GC and all the tracks in the former were playable (but why didn't this set make it here?! This is beyond me... but with such an amount of rips & rare disasters like change of host or Knurek's HDD crash it's possible some archives slipped away and were forever lost for VGM archives).

And yeah, I`d really like to see at least those ESPN DSPs fixed so I hope to see them in your upcoming plugin changelog. Of course there's no rush as I can wait for an update (I got those GC sets a year or two ago therefore I can surely wait some weeks to finally get an opportunity to listen to currently erroneous tracks).

BTW there're loads of quad MP3 XVAGs in Twisted metal (2012) but I don't have samples for that title at hand. I dunno who made that set but Knurek already has The last of us for PS3 here.

And I'm patiently waiting for a chance to ultimately experience TimeShift music in 5.1 mix (I mainly ripped the game from X360 because I was sure devs used 6ch XMA on that platform and it's gonna be easily rippable but I was terribly wrong). If you need stereo examples from both platforms just contact me, they're in different format on PC & Xbox (XWAV & XMA) but they can still give you an overall idea what surround variants should sound like.

The last thing: my rip of Marvel Ultimate alliance for XBox 360 also has preserved mono XMA1 tracks, X-Men: The Official Game on the same platform additionally contains stereo samples of presumably the same format so be my guest if you wanna implement vanilla XMA1 codec into VGMStream, it's going to be quite an honor for me to provide you example files!

All the best, UF.

Spy hunter (2002) for GC: GENH version & WAV one but probably you'll only be able to play the latter via Sony Sound forge. In any case I included the second variant for streamed VGM purists like Alpha23, I guess he'd not resort to making *.genh files if another option's available.
Spy hunter 2 for PS2 / Xbox: main link with 8/39 tracks currently unplayable and bonus with some tagged compositions from an old rip by an FFS user named Gunvalkyrie4Life (it can come in handy if you wanna know names for some beloved tracks but always remember it's line-in gamerip!). If anyone likes BGMs and feels like making complete rip be my guest: you can include the files I provided in your future renditions that are going to contain demuxed audio from videos (PSS or multi-channel BIK, all an easy fodder for VGMToolBox) and possibly additional musics. This also applies to SH1 as variant above has no movies at all and I don't feel like reripping that VG ATM.

Monster Strike x FF30th Anniversary (iOS & Android) by Vector Harbor at 5:18 PM EDT on March 21, 2017
I was curious to know if anybody can get the Monster Strike x FF30th Anniversary music arrangement please ?

Maybe one of these days, I'll throw together a build machine virtual appliance file.

All it requires is:

Visual Studio 2010 (optional, if you want to target 2010 like I do)
Visual Studio 2015 or 2017 Community edition
Git for Windows
PuTTY (setx GIT_SSH %pathto%\plink.exe)

Check out a shallow clone of my foobar2000 repository.

Open the plugins/foobar/foobar2000/plugins.sln in 2015/2017.

Switch the tree view to the Properties tab.

Select any project and navigate to the cpp properties, release or debug, doesn't matter.

Right click, open Properties, locate VC++ Directories.

Go to Include path.

Select Edit... from the list.

Make sure Inherit is checked.

Add the full path to the plugins\wtl\include directory in the repository.

All projects should build, except for the Syntrax one, I need to decide if/when I'll publish that repository.

E: Using the Git repository is the best way to get changes integrated into the master branch.

You'll fork the vgmstream repository, configure your local copy with that as the remote:

cd plugins\cgmstream
git remote rename origin upstream
git remote add origin git@gitlab.kode54.net:<username>/vgmstream.git

Or similar repository path. You can fork it either on the Gitlab, or on Github.

PlayStation 3 rip of Rage: Rage (2011-10-04)(id Software)(Bethesda Softworks). Anyone willing to rip PC or X360 versions is pretty much welcome, I'd like to listen to this score with original filenames but unfortunately author of extraction script for computer ver. didn't want to tweak his BMS to work with PS3 port, alas! When it comes to me I don't really have any desire to look into other versions ATM but I'd gladly try out PC or X360 rips by other users.
Best wishes!

Is it something as simple as adding

endian big

at the beginning of the bms instruction set?
by Ultrafighter at 12:36 AM EDT on March 23, 2017
I guess not as there're 2 mentions of "endian big" in the very beginning of script. And I got "incomplete input file" error anyway.
by AnonRunzes at 2:51 PM EDT on March 23, 2017
@Ultrafighter - Well, I really wanted to take a look at RAGE`s archive files well before you even managed to rip the PS3 version of the game.

And I`m still planning to do so as I get my hands at the two versions of the game(PS3 and XBOX360, respectively), including the DLCs from said versions. The PC version will soon follow.

Well, here are all the files for Super Mario Run:
https://www.mediafire.com/?tp8f5wvz2yxeyos

Still no idea how to play them, though.
by Ultrafighter at 4:50 AM EDT on March 24, 2017
Hey AnonRunzes, I guess we can create a team of us two, right? If anyone else wants to join our group I'd be glad to see him too.

So if someone wants to get streamed.resources from both base & mp\base folders I can upload those as well as gameresources.resources from both directories (the latter should contain filenames for streams found in the former).

And if you have difficulties finding DLCs I think I can help, the version I ripped is called RAGE: Anarchy edition but I believe streamed.resources & gameresources.resources I worked with are actually the same as in original game; 4 PKGs for a patch, 2 DLCs and Anarchy edition upgrade are located in root folder and I haven't even touched them yet.

All the best!
by AnonRunzes at 10:48 AM EDT on March 27, 2017
Turns out that in RAGE, the streamed.resources and language archives(seven(?) in total) such as english.streamed were referenced in gameresources.resources all along.

I`ll probably release a .bms script once I solve the problem of these DLCs.
by Ultrafighter at 1:09 AM EDT on March 29, 2017
Here are PS3 DLCs if you need them.
Until later!
by AnonRunzes at 9:47 AM EDT on March 29, 2017
@Ultrafighter - Thanks for the offer, but I have everything I need now(PS3 and XBOX360 version of the main game + all the DLCs).
by Ultrafighter at 2:45 AM EDT on April 3, 2017
@AnonRunzes: Alright, I got it. I wish you good luck ripping all those versions of the game! I hope you'll post them here whenever your gamerips are ready.

@All: This is the mirror of my old rip from The warriors: Street brawl for XBLA, I only changed filenames a bit (deleted those redundant "disk.xpr# " prefixes). I can also assure everyone these XMAs were left as they initially are since they're decodable from the start, you can thank (or blame?) devs for using Xbox media audio 1 in a VG released in '09.
Best regards!

I've been using VGMToolbox to extract CPKs from Persona 5 for the PS3. I'm not sure how to proceed from here. I was able to get audio files from an older PS3 game (Bomberman Ultra) and had hoped the process would be the same but I guess not.
by soneek at 10:32 PM EDT on April 6, 2017
Jayne, did any .awb files pop up after the CPK extraction?
by Jayne at 10:39 PM EDT on April 6, 2017
soneek: Yep, I have since found the sound directory containing the awb and acb files.
by soneek at 10:51 PM EDT on April 6, 2017
Make sure VGMToolbox is up-to-date. You should have a CRI ACB/AWB Archive Extractor options in Misc. Tools/Extraction Tools/Common Archives. You can drag the awb files on it, but try using the acb files first when the file names are paired. You should get adx or hca files.
by Jayne at 12:08 AM EDT on April 7, 2017
Yep, I got the files. Thanks!
by bxaimc at 1:48 AM EDT on May 3, 2017
A couple of rips I did:

LEGO Star Wars - The Force Awakens (2016-06-28)(TT Fusion)(Warner Bros.)[WIIU][Xiph Vorbis][OGG].7z

Rayman Legends (2013-08-29)(-)(Ubisoft)[WIIU][Nintendo DSP - PCM][BTSND - RAK].7z

enjoy

So, the links on the first page are down...have I missed something important? 'cause I currently would like to have the Mario Sunshine one.
by hcs at 6:12 AM EDT on May 4, 2017
Check out the archives listed here
by Matoya at 6:24 AM EDT on May 4, 2017
The thing is, Super Mario Sunshine from the archives has just one track and I know that the one from this Thread has all tracks.
