Can I request for Contra Shattered Soldier to be done, with 2 loops with a fade out. Since the OST doesn't have either of those.....

If so, I'm willing to do the tracknames for the set.

Flagged CAUD, unfamiliar, so line-in rip would be the way to go. Extracted the file and made an interpretation. It's horribly garbled, but you can clearly make out the timpani. Don't know where the disc channel music for Wii games is stored, though.

EDIT: The WiiBrew wiki explains that the disc channel audio is stored in sound.bin, archived in Opening.bnr. BNRSound can convert the embedded BNS file.

@Vagonto: Super Contra (2007)(Konami)[XBLA][Xbox Media Audio][XMA][XWB]

Note, you will need to decode RIFF WAVES from the XWB files with toWav.exe, found here.
Edit: I can't hotlink to the binary, so you'll have to Ctrl+F "Скачать" if you can't find the download for the binary.

Just open the toWav zip, and drag the contents into the extracted Super Contra (2007)(Konami)[XBLA][Xbox Media Audio][XMA][XWB] folder, and run the batch file "ConvAll.bat"

Enjoy ;)

Thank you VERY much for the Super Contra stuff. The arcade soundtrack is one of my favorites and these renditions, while not perfect (I still plan on sequencing my own), are a lot better than expected. I'll be ADX'ing at least a few of them for myself, but I'll do all of them and upload them if anyone wants them.

The audio is all in SD.BIN. Neill Corlett made a thing to convert it all to wav, so I'd suggest using that and doing the loops etc. manually, or having some lovely person here convert it to .svag as was done with Castlevania: Curse of Darkness (which I believe uses the same audio format).

What? Who said there was something "converted"? Svag is a common header from Konami, there's nothing cnoverted to wav and then to Svag.

Contra - Shattered Soldier file list, extracted from "SD.BIN"

Nice Soundtrack, btw!

I meant "converted" as in, no longer all lumped into one file, headers added, files renamed, and whatever else needed to be done for vgmstream to play them (maybe they were compressed into an archive? I haven't the foggiest), not converted to wav with Neill's thing and then to SVAG. That'd be dumb and redundant.
by ZeldaDD at 12:33 PM EDT on August 30, 2009
Prime Blue: Ah, thanks. I looked at the listings of some of the PAK files but must have missed that one. Very dissappointing, but ah well. :)

Oh, and also...I have the game here. If someone wants me to get the files from the disc and seed it on a tracker, just say the word (if MouserX can't do it). I presume you'd want the "Bonus" tracks as well as the Trilogy's version of the normal in-game music tracks? I wouldn't probably be able to do the Trilogy menu's music though, as I can't find what happened to my Line In cable.

Thanks for the Preview channel, jurassicPieter!

Comparing the Trilogy files with versions from the original US versions, here is a list of new files. My guess is these were all used in the Japanese versions. In addition, the files in the FrontEnd folder are fade-out versions of in-game tracks and so are all brand new. The MP1 Frontends are identical to the new tracks from the Wii Asobu Metroid Prime.

PrimeBlue - in your Metroid Prime collection, I'm not sure how the Frigate Orpheon Escape, Chozo Ruins, Space Pirates, and VS. Metroid Prime are different. I did file hash checks between the Prime and Trilogy versions of these files and they are identical. Was this a gameplay thing?

NOTE: This list does NOT include differences in audio embedded in video tracks (no MP2 title theme, for instance).

by CapComMDb at 1:21 AM EDT on September 27, 2009
Ok, here's a couple files that should hopefully complete your Metroid Prime collections:

http://www.fileplanet.com/dl.aspx?/hst/c/a/captain_/music/MetroidPrimeTrilogy(2009)[Wii][FSB][DSP][RSF].rar - Metroid Prime Trilogy frontend and new tracks

Metroid Prime Trilogy Menu, Film DSPs and Front Loaders (FLAC)

Can't guarantee how long these will stay up... Requires a free Fileplanet account (but then you can download the other stuff on the Metroid Database).

BTW, if anyone has the PCM rips of the front loaders for MPT and the two Wii Play versions, is there anything else we need?

To complete the collection, you should also have:

Metroid Prime
Metroid Prime (Demo)
Metroid Prime 2
Metroid Prime 2 (Demo)
Metroid Prime 3

Thank you. Why does the Wii version of Twilight Princess have streams?
by Mouser X at 12:34 PM EDT on October 20, 2009
If I recall correctly, the streams in the Wii version are identical to those in the NGC version (excluding, of course, the BNS). They're used for the in-game cut-scenes. Otherwise, the game uses sequences.

I haven't checked this to be sure, but what I recall is that the the game data in the Wii version is identical to the game data in the NGC version. The two biggest differences are the executables, one for the Wii, and one for the NGC. Yes, the Wii version is "mirrored", but that's easily "fixed" (there's Ocarina and Gameshark codes to switch it either way).

Does that answer your question? Mouser X over and out.
by SmartOne at 2:00 PM EDT on October 20, 2009
Yup. Since it's labeled [Wii] I assumed they were unique to that version. Any idea why kyakumachi.ast won't play?

How about AT3?

edited 2:21 PM EDT October 20, 2009
by hcs at 3:04 PM EDT on October 20, 2009
kyakumachi.ast is truncated. As far as I can tell it was that way on the disc (all rips I've looked at were the same way). It's the audio from the demo video that plays if you wait at the title screen; that video itself (with the complete audio) is in THP format.
FYI, kyakumachi means "waiting for customers". I guess that's the Japanese equivalent of "advertise mode".

Also, not all of the streams are bit-for-bit identical between the GC and Wii versions. A few of the Wii tracks have a bit longer silence at the beginning, though that's the only difference I've noticed.

you can play ATRAC3 with this directshow plugin

for ATRAC3plus, you need to install Sonic Stage and use this tool to convert the stuff to OMA in order for it to play. Add AT3 and OMA extentions to winamp's directshow decoder and you're set. BTW, keep the original ATRAC3plus files since OMA is not "pure"
by JILost at 8:31 PM EDT on October 20, 2009
Are those both on the tracker? I was hoping there might be one floating around that I could download from one of those upload sites. Looks like it's time for me to hit up the "here's how to access the tracker" thread and get to it.
by snakemeat at 8:42 PM EDT on October 20, 2009
Regarding ATRAC3+, for people with homebrew capable PSPs, there is a sample program to enjoy these tunes. Could be fun to listen on real hardware (psp headphone jack -> computer's line in). I saw it over on the PS2DEV forums.

there should be at least a few tools that allow you to dissect the WAD so as to examine the file system within for promising files...

http://filetrip.net/f1761-DesWaD-0-1.html
an example of one tool (apparently better than Deswad 1.0?)

oh wait, here, this looks promising:
http://forums.ffshrine.org/showthread.php?t=69234
http://www.mediafire.com/?nymgwmwjazt

be sure to take a shower afterwards

by the way, how do you like the game? I saw that you were one of the first people to upload Youtube footage of it...assuming you're the same VixyNyan.

Wasn't there a list of games and their ripped status somewhere?
by wolupgm6 at 1:05 AM EDT on October 29, 2009
Are you referring to the StreamDB (Formerly GCStreamDB) which lists games, whether or not they are playable and what version of vgm_stream or in_cube they were tested with?
by valiant at 3:54 AM EDT on October 29, 2009
There it is:

The Legend of Dracula (Ogg + BRSTM)

Indeed Vorbis. Packed in Ogg files. And those in turn packed in BRSTMs, for the looping, I guess.
The dracula_sound.brsar (~4MB) contains BRSTMs with the same titles, but brsar_unpack gives a "header format error" and says "dump of WSD_CURSOR failed".

Plus...

Information:
This is a direct conversion from the streamed files in the WiiWare release. The originals didn't have working loop points, so I manually set them.

Download (MP3):
MEGAUPLOAD
Download (FLAC):
MEGAUPLOAD

And sample looping points for Mouser (note that "Last Boss BGM" has two parts that are available separately only in the Ogg set above):

02 - Opening BGM (Stage Map BGM · From Devil's Castle Dracula XX)
120494
04 - Stage 1 BGM (REINCARNATED SOUL · From VAMPIRE KILLER)
305536
05 - Area Boss BGM
62176
08 - Stage Boss BGM (The Final Battle · From AC Devil's Castle Dracula)
79479
10 - Stage 2 BGM (A Lullaby Sent to the Devils · From AC Devil's Castle Dracula)
5056
11 - Stage 3 BGM (New Messiah · From The Legend of Dracula II)
134240
12 - Stage 4 BGM (LOAD BGM · From X68000 Devil's Castle Dracula)
46688
13 - Stage 5 BGM (Aquarius · From The Legend of the Devil's Castle)
33281
14 - Stage 6 BGM (Vampire Killer · From FC Devil's Castle Dracula)
18664
15 - Last Boss BGM (Riddle · From The Legend of the Devil's Castle) (second half only)
5243
17 - Ending Demo (The End of the Day · From The Legend of Dracula II)
506171

@Dais!: I loved it. It felt fresh for a remake. I went and beat Hard mode too on a live streaming channel. You don't get anything for it though. You can unlock a Classic Player Style where you can't control your jumps in mid-air.

I might record some more videos where I show hidden paths, breakable walls and other things. ^^

Thank you for the tools. I will try them out on Pole's Big Adventure I guess. There aren't many people who played that game. o.o

Yeah. If someone could please point me to the database or tell what's up with Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly, that would be great.

Found it:

Now to find the files...

You turned 8 megs of .ogg into FLAC?

That's kind of missing the point, isn't it?
by valiant at 6:06 AM EDT on October 30, 2009
If you know how to edit Vorbis-encoded music in an Ogg container losslessly, feel free to tell us.

Sin and Punishment 2 (Wii) - 83 brstm streams:

Part 1

Part 2

Part 3

Some nice electro-orchestral fusion here. Decent game too.

No need to be snippy, Prime Blue. I'm as pro-FLAC as the next guy, and it just seems like overkill. Like using an aquarium to hold one drop of water.

Thanks for the streams bcass!

Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life. I didn't see it in the database so I'm guessing it hasn't been uploaded by anyone.

[Gamecube, "ADP"/"DTK" 4-BIT ADPCM, nibble interleave} the rest are unsupported but included anyway]

Can I make a request? Could someone please upload the Ecco The Dolphin streams from the Dreamcast version? Ripped from the original disc, not a copy (which is likely to have been down-sampled).

To encourage someone to upload those Ecco files I requested, here are a few more that I've done (with the exception of the Future Tactics rip) -

Cosmic Smash (ADX - Dreamcast):
Link

Daytona USA (ADX - Dreamcast):
Part 1
Part 2

Future Tactics - The Uprising [Tim Follin] (ADP - PS2):
Link

Starsky & Hutch [Tim Follin] (FLAC - PS2):
Part 1
Part 2

This is a lossless digital rip that I did using the soundtest with a TOSLink to TOSLink cable from PS2 to PC.

Snippy?

Snippy?

another slur lost in translation.
someone needs to come up with a universal language. (that doesn't suck)

maybe ugetab can come up with a variant of machine code for this XD

I'm currently trying to extract the music from Bangai-O on Dreamcast GD-R. The audio files are in RAW format. However, I notice that the files have an audible click at the end of each track. Anyone know why this is? I'm using the following method to extract the files:

Uhh, dsf.hcs64.com isn't to your liking?
by bcass at 2:16 PM EST on November 3, 2009
Oh, right, didn't realise it had already been dumped. I hadn't seen that list before. I wondered where all the rips had got to!
by bcass at 3:01 PM EST on November 3, 2009
Just noticed that the rips in that directory are MP3s. Looks like there might be some worth in me ripping them myself after all...
by arbingordon at 7:26 PM EST on November 3, 2009
iirc knurek still has flacs of the mp3'ed stuff
