adp files lacking timings/loop points by -FDM64- at 1:08 PM EDT on September 13, 2008
I ripped the adp files from the game, and they play in winamp no problem, but they don't have the timings. How do I edit the timings? Or is there a program to do this?
Similarly to rsf files, .adp files have no metadata in the file itself; they are just raw audio data, rather like CD Audio. Thus there can be no looping and the timing is whatever the length of the file is. I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "they don't have the timings", but this sounds like it. Am I close?
There is a way to get adp files "longer", for sure you mean that they're not looped...
1. Donwload the Generic Header Creator 2. Select the ADP file 3. Choose the format 4. Put the needed values 5. Hit "Use File End" 6. Hit "Create Generic Header...
and be sure there are no padding bytes, else it won't loop correctly!
Here's the file used in the example as GENH file, with loops! :)
http://img28.picoodle.com/data/img28/3/9/13/f_asjdfnam_a787b4c.png I meant how to input the start/stop loop values. Do I have to manually sort through a dumped wav with audacity to find the loop points? Or is there an automated program to search for the loops?
as hcs said, ADP doesn't provide any meta-data, so oyu have to search manually for loops, audacity should be a good choice for that, you can use the given sample values form audacity i think...
I figured there could be a program that does it automatically search a wav or the output as it is being played to find loop start/stops. But I guess none exist, so I best be getting to work. Thank you both for the information. Edit: Is it possible to rewrite the usf file spec to have loop start/stop?
What's the probability of that happening in the next ten years? ALso: Halley's Comet Software on the page is broken. (for me atleast)
Well, I could add it to the spec today, but it'd be a while before I got around to updating 64th Note to handle it.
Yep, the dynamic home page was removed due to being repeatedly hacked and I haven't gotten around to fixing various links yet. The real page is index.html, or just hcs64.com.
