Best tool(s) for PSP extraction? by bcass at 11:38 AM EST on December 6, 2009
What are the best PC tools for viewing/extracting data/files from PSP ISOs/CSOs?

You can mount a PSP Iso in a virtual drive like every other cd-image...

To decompress CSO to ISO, search for "PSP ISO Compressor", i can't remember the link now!

Thanks for that. Now, can anyone give me any tips on how to get the audio files (I suspect they are OMA files) out of a .bin file? I'm trying to rip the music from Gradius Collection. It's just one track I'm after really - the loading music from the X68000 version of Gradius II.

It's not OMA. There isn't a PSP game out there that uses OMA. If it's ATRAC3/ATRAC3plus, it's AT3. I have the game ripped: Gradius Collection [Gradius Portable] (2006)(Konami)[PSP][ATRAC3plus][AT3]. I can put it up on the tracker if you want.
Edit: In fact, I already have it up on the tracker in the "Streams 2009-10-19" torrent.

How do I access the torrent?

Also, I have a rip from Wipeout Pure here, and the files are all OMA.

The thing is, did you rip Wipeout Pure yourself? If not, then that means that the rip you have is not in its original format. When bxaimc ripped PSP games, he used to convert the AT3 files to OMA, so that they could be played in Winamp (or something like that). Now though, he has decided that this is not the most ideal method, since it requires alteration of the original data from the game. Recently, he's been going back and re-ripping many PSP games, so that they have their original format. I don't know how far he's gotten on this, or if he's continued to do that.

In other words, if it's OMA, it's not in the original format it was in from the game. If you yourself ripped it though, and it was OMA on the disc, then apparently, that's the first game to use OMA. Mouser X over and out.

Cool. So how do I access the torrent then?

You need to register first. And no one is seeding it now, but if you get it on someone might.

OK, cheers. I've registered and have the torrent up and running. If anyone can seed, it's only the Gradius rip I need to download (and that's the only file I've selected in BitLord). Failing that, maybe someone could upload it to megaupload?

Ooh, I think I'm going to hit a few of those files, if you don't mind. Thanks for seeding.

Do I have to install SonicStage to convert those ATRAC3plus files to WAVs (using HiMDRenderer) or is there an easier method?
by bxaimc at 10:12 AM EST on December 9, 2009
Yes, you need SonicStage installed. Unfortunately.
