A little issue with M1 by Koto at 9:07 AM EST on February 17, 2010
I don't know why, the songs in M1 usually plays well at the beginning but later does it less strong. Hate that thing. Which is the configuration for playin' always with the same sound level?
Is the same problem I had playin' .spc files with SNESamp sometime ago...
By the way, any recomendation about a good configuration for best quality?
I have M1 0.7.8a10. Is that the latest? Anyway, it sounds like you should disable "Normalize output volume" and enable "Use fixed volume setting when specified in a .lst file." This is using the BridgeM1 frontend.
For best quality, Stereo mix should be 0%.
Knurek, has Hoot surpassed M1 in overall accuracy? Pretty sure Hoot can play most things that M1 can.
Anyway what I meant by dumping was to log to wave as fast as the machine allows Hoot to, not the silly stereo mix every other app uses. Does it actually do that?
Hoot and M1 are both built from MAME components (and they've contributed quite a bit to MAME), so there should be no real daylight in terms of accuracy. (I've never gotten Hoot to work so I don't know for sure, but the source looks reasonable).
