Unknown opcode fc at 03ba by TheUltimateKoopa at 3:16 PM EST on February 3, 2011
Every time I try and play GB files converted from some GBS sets, I get this message when I open the "ROM" in VBA. It seems to do it on Super Mario Land 2, and Wario Land (Super Mario Land 3).
The only reason I use VBA-M is that it's the most accurate emulator for sound, and also sounds better.
Is anyone able to help, or does anyone know why it works for most games, but not all? Like it'll work perfectly for something like Wario Land 2, or Super Mario Land, but not Super Mario Land 2?
But it doesn't have the Declicking, Enhance Sound or Surround things that VBA-M does in the "Audio Core Settings". This is version 1.8.0, I'm using, which I believe is the latest version?
September 10, 2010? That's the latest one, right? Well, I downloaded Visual Boy Advance M 956, launched the thing, then went to Help > About, and it says:
VisualBoyAdvance-M Emulator Version: 1.8.0 (SVN956) Date compiled: Sep 10 2010
Copyright (c) 2008 VBA-M development team?
So, it was compiled only 5 months ago, yet the copyright is 3 years old? If Version 1.8.0 (SVN956) isn't the latest version, what is?
I already had the latest version. I'm still getting this stupid unknown opcode. So far it's specifically Super Mario Land 2 and Wario Land 2's GBS set, converted to GB ROM files with GBS2GB.
Maybe then YOU can motivate me to write that new GB-z80 emulator!!!!
OR you can use foo_gep or in_mgme which uses the EXACT SAME audio emulation code as VBA-M. And I wonder why you are converting the GBS to GB ROMs, which is BS.
Declicking, Enhance Sound or Surround... what part of that don't you understand? AFAIK, only the VBA-M emulator has those features in it's sound settings. This is the exact reason why I'm converting GBS to GB.
I like the Enhance sound and surround sound things because it defaults the 2 square channels to left or right panning, and the other channel has a surround effect thing, because mono sucks.
