BMS Swapping in Zelda by furrybob at 3:12 AM EST on March 2, 2011
I've been playing around with moving around the bms files in Wind Waker, getting them to play on the title screen. About half of them seem to work fine, but because there are multiple sample banks, some songs don't play, or they leave out some instruments.
In the Twilight Princess ripping thread on page 6, I saw that Prime Blue figured out a method to get it working correctly. If Prime Blue is still around, what was the method that you used? And if he's not, does anybody else know what he did?
For Twilight Princess, we just muted the sound effects and recorded the music where it is actually played in the game. A method for swapping tracks was discovered by hcs, but it only worked partly because of the issue with the multiple sample banks.
Do you need something specific for The Wind Waker, though? I ripped the missing tracks about a year ago.
The point was to make it so that you could easily run a batch file or something and replace the song playing at the title screen. Now that Dolphin's audio emulation is pretty much bug-free, it would provide a crude way to playback music from the game, or do an automated rip of the game.
