I'm sorry but how can I obtain the disckey.bin?

The contents of the diskey.bin file are included in the .nfo files that accompany releases. Create a file composed of those 16 bytes as the hex values and save it as "disckey.bin."

disckey.bin is unique to each game as far as I know.

Haven't looked at the PAM files too closely yet, my primary laptop (with all my tools) is getting repaired. But, I believe someone has made a PAM player, that might help you check in the meantime. I think I saw it linked on Xentax in the PAM demux thread.

Well, they really don't seem to contain any audio. You can cut the first 0x800 bytes, save as mpg and then demux - same result.
demuxing 3DS moflex videos by Alpha23 at 4:29 AM EDT on March 25, 2015
Hi snakemeat! Sorry for bugging you _again_ but as I didn't get any answer in my own post here, I'm going to ask you directly: Are you planning to add demuxing support for moflex videos? I think the format is pretty similar to mobiclip, just a variation. Here are some samples: http://www.multiup.org/download/853c379f19d79d796e8dfab8def3aeba/moflex_samples.7z
I guess there will be more and more decrypted 3ds games so the demand will definitely grow.
Thanks for your help!
by snakemeat at 5:47 PM EDT on March 25, 2015
I'll take a look, but no guarantees. Life is busy these days, and my interests fluctuate rapidly.

The mobiclip support in VGMToolbox is pretty weak as it is (I've only got it working with Pandora's Tower), but I may be able to make the new ones work. Is the audio format known?

Thank you very much for taking the time and looking in to the MPS format, and implementing it so fast, much appreciated.

But it seems it throws same error like before, cant make it work.
Does it have a file size limitation to be extracted?

This is one of the files it throws the error like many tens out there.

Overflow MPS sample

error is.

Error processing <C:\Users\User\Desktop\00001.MPS>. Error received: Arithmetic operation resulted in an overflow.

I'll take a look. Thanks for another sample. Do you know if this sample has subtitles or any other stream besides audio and video?
MPS format overflow (answer) by cyberspeed at 8:03 AM EDT on June 3, 2015
yes it has dual audio, and if I am not mistaken subtitles between 20-26, some have 3 or up to 8 audios.

Also the subtitles, contain the converted .png images of the text, they are exported as .bin files, do you think they could be exported as .sup files? similar to those from DVDs or Blu-ray movies?
I don't know what is inside the subtitle .bin format like a .sst format for the images, or maybe .xml format but it sure holds the .png subtitles nicely, just that most are scrambled upon extraction.

or maybe you know hwo to gain access to the subtitle format similar or better like the following examples.

subtitles between 20-26,

I'm sorry, I don't understand what this means. Are you suggesting the file has 20 to 26 different subtitle languages?
MPS subtitle (answer) by cyberspeed at 6:17 PM EDT on June 3, 2015
I am sorry about the confusion.
To be more precise.
It has the main video at 720x480, two audio languages Japanese and English, and 26 subtitles.
And once it throws the overflow nothing happens.

Also, UMD its nothing but DVD specifications, supports 8 audio plus 32 subtitles in total, you think would be able for subtitles to be extracted as DVD .sup subtitles in 720x480, same as the video resolution?

once again, thank you.

snakemeat thank you, MPS format DEmultiplexing works flawlessly so far.

I've attached a subtitle sample for you to see how the format looks before gets multiplexed in to .MPS video format. Maybe it helps.

Subtitle sample before MPS multiplexing.

And was wondering, if you can not implement any type of extraction for the subtitle from the MPS, in a standard format, if you could just make it extract a text file like this example,

0001 00:00:39:17 00:00:41:23 0001.png
0002 00:00:42:17 00:00:44:10 0002.png
0003 00:00:45:18 00:00:47:18 0003.png
0004 00:00:49:12 00:00:50:18 0004.png
0005 00:00:54:03 00:00:58:17 0005.png

extracted in a folder, and the .PNGs subtitle images to follow one after another in they're order, in 720x480, instead of being cropped around the text, again, if its doable.

thank you.

cheers

Okay, I think I've finally got ACB/AWB support figured out. Update here (r997). For now I'll still call it a beta, but I feel much more confident about this one than the last version.

All of my samples so far seem to match CRI Atom Viewer. At this point, I'd really appreciate feedback on any ACBs that do not match CRI Atom Viewer or cause errors.

I also don't have a full list of what are called "EncodeType" aka stream file types. If you extract a file with an unknown value, the file extension will be ".EncodeType-XX.bin" where "XX" is a number. I'd appreciate people filling me in on what numbers they receive and what the format actually is, or what game they are using if they cannot figure out the format. At this point, I expect I'm missing values for at least the following formats: AIFF, ATRAC9, "HeVag?" IMA ADPCM, MP3, OGG, PCM (Wave), and XMA.

I've also added CPK support to this build in case you missed it in the Sonic Lost World thread. There's a stand alone extractor and I've added it to the ISO Extractor so you can just pick the files you want. Encrypted CPKs are supported, as are CPKs with data in the ITOC table. ITOC entries do not have files names, unfortunately. This is due to the format, not VGMToolbox.

For now, this build is still a bit beta-ish and I may add more features like duplicate detection or writing extended info to a text file.

Here's VGMToolbox r1000.

I found one more feature of ACB files, the "Streaming" flag, so the names for files enclosed within the ACB itself can be differentiated from those in the external AWB archives. As best I can tell this tool is now complete, but please share feedback if you discover any errors since I have a limited variety of sample data.

I also incorporated support for raw AWB (AFS2) extraction for archives without an accompanying cue sheet (ACB).

Lastly, a long time bxaimc request, I've added an External File List renamer. This is used for archives that you can get the files out of, but cannot easily get the files names. It allows you to identify a folder with files to rename and a source file with offset of file names. It then renames the files in the source folder (in string order) using the file names. I haven't fully tested the static file name option, but the terminator option is working.

You don't, as far as I know. You have to use Team Fail's Audio Dumper.

The only problem with that is that it doesn't dump names with the sound effects or sequences. So if a game has a few thousand files, you can't view the sound effect names.

It can be a pain....

WUD Extraction error by JohnathanMonkey at 4:17 AM EST on January 17, 2016
Hello,

Any time I attempt to extract a .WUD file I get this message:

"File Table Signature Not Found For Partition: GM0005000001017D8000000000000000."

I have the Ckey.bin file and the disckey.bin files in their proper places. I have no clue what to do with this as I cannot seem to find this error message anywhere else with an answer. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Any ideas at all would greatly help!

NVM Wrong ckey DOH!

snakemeat, would you be able to add a section to the GENH to check an offset for channel count, with the same settings as other stuff? Size, endianness, etc.

Edit: I guess for loop flag as well.

Would it be possible to scan all offsets in advanced cutter instead of only one at a time since by default it only scans 0x00?

Just tried running vgmtoolbox in mono and got this error:

I don't intentionally target mono and don't have time to track that down, but please let me know if you get it working.

I'm not sure what you are asking for. Can you please clarify or provide an example?
by 47iscool at 12:23 PM EST on January 31, 2016
Not really sure how to explain.

But right beside the option to scan values (treat as hex) on the right side of it
there is an option to scan offsets.

So what I'm trying to say is could we have an option to scan starting offsets 0x00 through 0x0F all at once?

@snakemeat - Do you plan on integrating these DSF-related Phyton scripts into VGMToolbox?
Error Report by Hiccup at 12:34 PM EST on February 8, 2016
NDSTo2SF doesn't work with many Multiboot (Download Play) ROMs.

Contact me anywhere if you want a download for them. They are very small.

VGMT already scans all offsets by default, so if you leave it empty, it will do that automatically. If that doesn't answer your question, I think I'll need an example to understand what you're asking.

No plans at this time. I looked into it in the past and cannot remember why I didn't do it, but I think it had to do with the way RAM is handled being too custom for a semi-automated tool. Also, Knurek had scanned almost all known dumps at the time, so it seemed less urgent.

I've PM'd you elsewhere, thanks.

I've read your PM and PM'd you three examples.

Does it scan odd offsets as well?

The reason I ask is I made a preset to extract MD vgm's from a homebrew ROM and it only extracted files that were on offsets such as 0x200 or 0x3500 but not offsets such as 0x4C00.
WARNING: Microsoft STFS (XBLA) Extraction Error by snakemeat at 10:59 PM EDT on March 15, 2016
Timo reported an error extracting a specific STFS file. I have traced the error to a special case for STFS files.

For now, I recommend using a different tool, such as wxPirs (http://gael360.free.fr/wxPirs.php), to extract these files. I'll post an update when I get the fix in place.

VGMToolbox has been updated. Grab it at Sourceforge.

*** VGMToolbox r1016 (2016-05-29)

-= NEW =-

-= UPDATED =-
[NINTENDO WIIU WUD]
- Added support for GI type partitions.
- Added disk key file name option for scene release key name defaults: <ISO NAME>.key. If that key is not present, will look for old default, "disckey.bin."

[CRI ACB/AWB EXTRACTOR] Add ATRAC9 file extension.

-= FIXED =-
[ISO EXTRACTOR] Remove Microsoft STFS support. Will fix eventually (hopefully).

-= THANKS =-
Timo for identifying incorrect handling of Microsoft STFS files.
pantsuline for ATRAC9 info.
Beta with some PSV (exFAT) support by snakemeat at 10:40 PM EDT on June 26, 2016
Here's a beta version with support for recent PS Vita dumps which use the exFAT file system.

I haven't fully implemented exFAT support (non-contiguous clusters are not yet supported). But, it works for the samples I have tried. My only guess is that read-only implementations like game "carts" don't need to rearrange clusters since they are only written once.

Unfortunately, it seems that currently publically released dumps are not decrypted. So basically, this version of VGMT will display the folder structure and files, but upon extraction most of them are still encrypted using PSV's native decryption, which some refer to as PFS.

Some of the files are unencrypted though. As an example, the "app\XXXXXXXX\sce_sys" folder has at least one unencrypted file. Maybe someone can figure out the decryption process.

*** VGMToolbox r1022 (2016-07-21)

-= NEW =-
[MICROSOFT EXFAT / PS VITA]
- Added support for current PS Vita Black Fin dumps.
- Basic parsing working, but non-contiguous clusters not supported. I haven't seen any of these in the PSV dumps, but the ExFAT system supports it.
- Extraction supported, but most, not all, files are encrypted.

[OTHER] Add email to "About" screen in case someone prefers communicating that way.

@snakemeat - Here's the SOUND.DAT file.

Your tool doesn't extract the HD/SD/SQ files as expected.
by snakemeat at 11:15 PM EDT on July 31, 2016
The uploaded file does not have the standard identifiers for the SQ/HD files. It looks like the data is in there, but it seems to be combined into a single chunk for each track.

VGMToolbox does not support this type of archive via any of the standard PSF2 tools. With a lot of work you may be able to extract each area manually and add fake SQ and HD headers, but I'm not sure.

Nevermind, I got my problem solved.

By the way, what am I supposed to do with the .PHD/.PBD/.MID files? I want to make them at least playable.

Until a PSP xSF format is created, I'm not sure if you can do anything. Does anyone know if VGMTrans handles these files?
by kode54 at 11:52 PM EDT on August 3, 2016
A PSP xSF format was already created, but the only thing that can play it is the PSF Player that is built from the Play! emulator core.
by AnonRunzes at 7:18 AM EDT on August 4, 2016
So there's no point on building a PSP xSF file, right? If there is a way of building a PSP xSF file, then can you tell us how?

I asked about this in the 3DS thread, but I think it's relevant enough to ask here, as well: Does anyone have the "CWAV streams" preset for the advanced cutter? It should help me extract an archive for a game I recently ripped, but I can't find such an .xml file anywhere (the only link I found for that particular preset has already expired). Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!

I've updated the official repository with soneek's 3DS plugins and a few others shared recently. Here's a link to the official plugins:

I have a bit of an issue when extracting ACB files. Whenever I drop an ACB file from Sonic Lost World, I get this particular error.
"Error received: ERROR, file count exceeds max value for ushort. Please report this at official feedback forums (see 'Other' menu item)."
Can anybody lend me a hand here?
