[Wii] Sonic Unleashed music replace. by PabloACZ at 3:10 PM EDT on September 13, 2011
So, I've been trying to modify the game music, and so far everything is great. I generated the new AIX files for the Day Stages by using Wavosaur to save the marker points in the WAVs and then using the AIX Maker from the 2008 freeware CRI SDK to encode the WAVs to AIX, and the music loops properly.
Now, to the problem: I can't get to work the looping points on the ADX files. I'm setting them correctly with Wavosaur, and I have tried to especify them manually with the ADX Encoder, but neither of them works. AFAIK, Sonic Unleashed uses Type 4 ADXs, and the adxencd I'm using also outputs that type of ADXs (I know it because I have verified them with VGMStream). Any ideas of what do I have to do?
I haven't done replacement of ADXs so I don't know what generally goes wrong. Is it playing but just not looping? If you upload your generated files I can have a look at the header and see if there's something suspicious.
Yep, that's the problem. Even other type of ADXs are playing fine, but they don't loop, which is weird (at least to me). I really thought it would be a simple task to get the ADXs to work fine, but it doesn't seem so (heck, I even thought it would be hard to create working AIX files). xD
Here's one of the ADXs, it's just the Live and Learn song from Sonic Adventure 2: Battle (BOSS_07.ADX), but re-encoded with the newer ADX tools: http://www.mediafire.com/?t2fjm7eyeasi4db.
The loop setting should start from the sample 211232, and end in the sample 7959088.
I'm using it in the final battle with Perfect Dark Gaia.
The only difference I notice is that in the original files the loop end is one less than the total number of samples, whereas in your file it is equal to the total number. This may be detected as an invalid loop.
