Thanks for sharing, nice choices. I'm especially excited about Jet Force Gemini. As far as uploading the unlinked ones, I wouldn't mind taking a look at Super Smash Bros, if you want to upload it. By the way, what do you mean when you say Goldeneye isn't in the correct patch format? Sorry if I'm being dense. Thanks again.
SynthFont? Is that the program that was made by someone called Brad Miller, or Sir Camehan as we was known on VGMusic, a few years ago? I remember him doing something like that. But then, it may have been Shandy (SH&E) :P
EDIT: N64miditool? I have a version that seems to date from July 9, 2011, but it doesn't have Goldeneye in the list, and when I try to open the ROM I have (which is a *.rom file), it just crashes, as in "<TO DO> something or other has stopped responding*
No, SynthFont is made by Kenneth Rundt (as far as I'm aware it's solely by him in Delphi), is located at http://www.synthfont.com/ and is a MIDI player (basic editor).
It can use SoundFonts, DLSs and many more formats as well as VST effects and VST instruments. It has a polyphony limit of (at the moment) 512 (CPU dependant, the more voices the more taxing it is), instead of the pitiful 128 of current cards and the 32 of SB Live cards which SynthFont is based upon.
I help Kenneth test his version 2 of his software (version 1.605 is the latest release at the time of writing) and he is trying to cram lots more features into the next version of which will be for paid users only.
Nearly everything in the current release is free and paying unlocks only one or two (not great) features and removes the nagging screen.
Some people, myself included have been given licences in exchange for the help we have given him in the past/present/future in detecting bugs or giving ideas.

Now to your message, to actually link a SoundFont to a file is impossible I think... What the OP means is play the MIDI using the SoundFont. However if you create an RMI (Microsoft RIFF MIDI) then you can wrap a DLS inside of the MIDI and have it use that. I'm not sure SynthFont supports this wrapping at this stage. Also RMI support on most devices is horrible. i.e. Non existent on most devices/players.
Do keep in mind that it still won't sound like it should in game (there is currently no way of telling where correct instrument splits should go). I just placed them to what sounds right.

If you aren't planning on doing some more work on FF12 anytime soon I'd enjoy checking it out.
By the way, if you don't mind answering, from where do you get the instrument info? Assuming it's from the N64 sound tool, what does the hex end up converting to? Milliseconds or what? Just curious.
What I mean is, say the Attack is $40, which is 64 in decimal; 64 what exactly? 64 milliseconds? 64 ticks? What are the units that relate to the numbers? Sorry if I'm still not making any sense/the answer is obvious.
Hi everybody ! @punk7890, you make a very good work.
I can upload your soundfonts on Woolyss if you want. It is for pleasure !... and free obviously ! This page (as pages of VST plugins and chiptrackers is famous !) ;)
@punk7890: Oh okay, I guess you just set those parameters to what sounds good. The detune parameter would be a boon to know, but it doesn't seem to correlate to cents. Oh well. Thanks for the answers and the soundfonts, and sorry for derailing the thread a bit.
@punk7890: I wrote a piece with your Ocarina of Time soundfont and thought I'd share it. Here it is in case anyone's interested. Thanks again for the useful sf2s punk7890, they're incredibly versatile.
Thanks to you both and thanks for listening; I'll definitely be writing more pieces with it very soon. The quality of the samples are great, and it's a versatile set of sounds, especially for orchestral purposes. Though I guess it's no surprise considering the game they come from. Looking forward to the soundfont's completion someday.
By the way, anyone know of a place where such things (original compositions using OoT's soundset, (or any game I suppose)) would be welcomed? Just thought I'd ask. It seems like remix sites are common, but the inverse idea of keeping the same sound to write original compositions aren't (8bc is the closest to this that I've found). Hope this isn't too off-topic.
I'm not really sure to be honest. You could always post them on my site if you'd like (link I posted earlier). As for a uploading community, I'm not sure.
If anyone's interested, I made this awhile back. Sort of related to topic. As for posting original compositions, I'll probably start uploading them to my YouTube and Newgrounds account soon.
As for the soundfont I would indeed like to complete it but its the best I can do for now as the format of the ctl is unknown (pitch, root key, instrument splits, etc).
Cool, I think I will sometime soon. Thanks for the suggestion. It's strange that not many sites like that exist. Guess there's not that big a demand for it.
Very well made cover of a great piece. I'll keep an eye on your channel.
Oh, is that all that's missing. That's not too bad, I thought there were still some missing instruments or something. Hopefully the format is discovered at some point.

I've now updated my Ocarina of Time soundfont to contain all instruments and correct instrument splits that were previously missing. I've fixed all loop points and cross fading looping is now enabled on instruments such as, Jazz Guitar, Nylon Guitar, Harps, Madola, Piano etc.
Patch 41 and 30 are reworked and patches 65-72 are new. The Jazz Guitar seems slightly off still. Can't seem to get it right, though shouldn't be much of a problem. Lots of tweaking went into this so let me know if anything is out of place.
This is great thanks! I have been using your first OOT soundfont ever since you released it :) any progress on the super smash bros soundfont? I'm really interested in that one.
If it matters at all punk, the shadow temple instrument is called a Djembe and the Synth is a Violin (I think)and im pretty sure the Drum (?) is a Marimba. Also for the female choir there are ahhs and ohhs. They kinda sound the same. You have the ahhs but not the ohhs.
@dj4uk6cjm: Thanks! I haven't sorry but I am working on a big soundfont that should please quite a few people. After that I'll probably get around to it.
@peronmls: Thanks. I'll differently keep them in mind if I get around to renaming the soundfont to GS standard patch order.
I've decided to post this now as I haven't worked on it for awhile. Futher details below.
This is a big Konami soundfont I've been working on over the months. It will contain all of the instruments from all Konami 64 titles. Right now it has all instruments from, Castlevania 64: Legacy of Darkness, Mystical Ninja 64 and Goemon's Great Adventures, though I'll work on the drum kits at a later time. All of the instruments are labeled in standard GM order. All of these wonderfull instruments come from the Roland JV sound module series from the 90's all in 44khz!
All banks on Patch #2 are miscellaneous percussion from Castlevania 64: Legacy of Darkness Same for patch #3. All of that comes from Mystical Ninja/Goemon's Great Adventures. Banks on patch #128 are orch/other SFX.
I've reuploaded most of my soundfonts. https://drive.google.com/#folders/0B0rQBb394HPWdTEyUFNZZDJ4Q1k
Also contains the Konami 64 soundfont (stalled, but am aiming for all of Konami's titles on the 64.) Contains Castlevania Legacy of Darkness, Mystical Ninja and Goemon's Great Adventures so far. No drum kits yet but has all standard instruments.
