Nisto, could you take a look at Atelier Viorate? That's the only PS2 Gust game we're missing AFAIK. Seem to be sequenced, but I couldn't get it to play when I tried.

Hi Nisto and thanks for reposting that addition to SH2/3 with their sequenced BGM in playable form, I originally missed it but now I can check those unused tracks (I heard some PSF2s are compositions utilized in demos, trailers or pre-release versions represented in different expos but they can't be heard in final release of VGs).
BTW are you sure there's no such music in SH4? In any case I appreciate your work, please don't stop doing such VGM addons with synthesized tracks!

Also it's so nice to finally see Battlezone, DT Carnage & MTX Mototrax for PSP on respective server! Thnx Knurek for ultimately adding them to collection; I even see Trine 3: The artifacts of power already mirrored, this is cool because now it won't be lost!
Bye all!

Does anyone know of a music rip for the PS2 Kingdom Hearts Final Mix and PS2 Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix? http://psf2.joshw.info/k/ does not have these games (Unless their listed under a japanese name in which case wtf is their japanese names?). They have some extra music not present in the original game release.

Ultrafighter: I am pretty sure Silent Hill 4 doesn't have any sequenced BGM. Some time ago I scanned for "KDT1" (the ID of Konami's sequenced format) across the entire disk image and I recall only finding longer sound effects basically. Generally speaking even, it doesn't have much "pure" music. From what I remember, a lot of it has a bunch of dialogues/ambience (voices, footsteps, etc.)

by Ultrafighter at 1:20 AM EST on February 17, 2017
@Franpa: Maybe you should look up for any alternative VG names on GameFAQs or MobyGames ;) ?

@Nisto: OK, I got it. What would you say about making PSF2s (?) out of HD, SD & TD files from Silent hill 3 PS3 port (a part of SH: HD Collection)? I guess those are just fodder for VGMToolBox PSF maker or something and a competent person is able to create playable *.(mini)psf2 tracks out of given material pretty easily.
Of course I can be seriously wrong but this is merely my wild guess. Here's the set I'm taking about.
Regards!
by Nisto at 6:43 PM EST on February 17, 2017
Aren't all of those HD/TD files (and whatever the replacement for BD is supposed to be) the same as in the PS2 version?

by Ultrafighter at 11:50 PM EST on February 17, 2017
Hey Nisto, it might be but I dunno - another set I had for SH2/3 had IECSs instead of BDs, HDs & TDs (not to mention PSF2s), probably the former ones were containers for files related to sequenced BGM but neither Alpha23 nor I didn't know what to do with them and simply left them as they're. If you still have *.bd, *.hd & *.sd files from original SH3 you can easily compare them to SH-HD counterparts though.
See you!
by Nisto at 12:42 AM EST on February 18, 2017
The ".iecs" files from those sets are in fact HD/BD/TD files, but lumped together. And that is the sequenced music data.

I didn't do any actual comparisons, but just looking at the file names, I'm quite certain it's essentially the same data (aside from the converted sample data of course). Also, from what I heard, they butchered the audio in the HD releases, so there should be no reason to believe there are any kind of improvements, let alone any additional sequenced tracks.. Ultimately, I don't really see why anyone would be interested to be honest. >.<

Here's even more Vita goodness:

flOw

flower (I uploaded the whole sound folder since it's a strange mix of different file types (AT9, VAG, bnk archives, etc.))

Quell Memento

A Rose in the Twilight (Unfortunately, this is another unplayable WWise rip (bnk archives), but I figured I'd upload it, anyway. Besides, it'll be nice to keep in handy in case a Vita Wwise decoder comes along (hopefully) soon enough, right? ;))

Okay, that's it for now....
by Ultrafighter at 5:27 AM EST on February 19, 2017
@Nisto: It's no problem then, I just thought you might be interested in SH:HD PSFs just for completeness sake.

I also heard devs from Hijinx got sources for their (mostly) 5.1 XMAs or MSFs out of PS2 versions of SH2&3 so no improvement of audio quality is possible in that scenario. I mean they supposedly transcoded tracks encoded using 4-bit ADPCM (AIX, ADX & SVAG to be exact) to another lossy format and used resulting worse sounding variants in sorta HD re-release of both titles!
That awkward kind of "HD Collection" had many flaws but this one seems to be the most horrible to me... if our presumptions are right. It's all pure speculation after all which originated from some user nicknamed "Hijinx" asking for help with AIX2ADX tool by HCS64. Someone figured out it was one of actual developers and this is how it all started.

@All: Anyone interested in addition to Fist of the North star: Ken's rage for PS3 which is going to have all audio tracks extracted from pre-rendered scenes (PAM videos) and some tags for BGMs (surround AT3+ files)? I think I can provide that AA3 + BAT pack in a few days and I'll be really happy if it makes it to psf3.joshw.info.

Bye!

Why the hell aren't NSF files using playlist files?
It works with GBS files, but if I open a NSF file, it just has something like:
Super Mario Bros. (1985)(Nintendo EAD)(Nintendo)
Super Mario Bros. (1985)(Nintendo EAD)(Nintendo)
Super Mario Bros. (1985)(Nintendo EAD)(Nintendo)
Super Mario Bros. (1985)(Nintendo EAD)(Nintendo)
Super Mario Bros. (1985)(Nintendo EAD)(Nintendo)
Super Mario Bros. (1985)(Nintendo EAD)(Nintendo)
Super Mario Bros. (1985)(Nintendo EAD)(Nintendo)
Super Mario Bros. (1985)(Nintendo EAD)(Nintendo)
Super Mario Bros. (1985)(Nintendo EAD)(Nintendo)
Super Mario Bros. (1985)(Nintendo EAD)(Nintendo)
Super Mario Bros. (1985)(Nintendo EAD)

And all the lengths are set to whatever default length is set in GEP.

It works with GBS files, but not NSF files.

Using SMB as an example, the M3U playlist file looks like this:
# Super Mario Bros. (Nintendo) [1985]
# Composer: Koji Kondo
# Tagged by Knurek

Super Mario Bros. (1985)(Nintendo EAD)(Nintendo).nsf::NSF,01,Running About,88,87,7
Super Mario Bros. (1985)(Nintendo EAD)(Nintendo).nsf::NSF,13,Running About (Hurry!),57,58,7
Super Mario Bros. (1985)(Nintendo EAD)(Nintendo).nsf::NSF,02,Underground,12,13,7
Super Mario Bros. (1985)(Nintendo EAD)(Nintendo).nsf::NSF,14,Underground (Hurry!),11,7,7 .... and so on.

1) You have to disable the default NSFE support in Advanced Preferences.
2) You have to load the .NSF(E), not the .M3U.
3) They must both have identical file names, minus the extension.
by TheUltimateKoopa at 11:02 PM EST on February 20, 2017
I'm using foo_gep in foobar2000. I don't see anything that looks like the first thing you said.

I'm also loading the NSF file (not M3U file), and they both have the same filename.
by kode54 at 1:10 AM EST on February 21, 2017
Advanced Preferences -> Playback -> Game Emu Player -> NSF/NSFE - Use original file handler - disable for M3U playlist support.

This also disables all tag writing, but I presume everyone using M3U playlists finds Notepad to be their preferred tag editing mechanism.

You'll need to re-add the files to your playlist after changing that setting.
by Ultrafighter at 4:04 AM EST on February 21, 2017
@Knurek: Here's my video addition to "Fist of the North star: Ken's rage" a.k.a. "Hokuto musou" for PS3 plus a batch file to rename most ATRAC3+ files to tracks tagged according to an OST. Feel free to augment this set with demuxed audio (in AA3+ format) I provided, I hope no one minds my addon with both Japanese & English voice-overs for movies?

@Reis: OK, I downloaded entire archive of yours and dealt with the first 174/302 WAVs pretty easily, it was AudioKinetic WWise OGG as I originally expected. I made a ripping set for those files, simply run 1.bat then 2.bat and you'll get normal playable OGGs. You can already play resulting OGGs before you process them with the second batch file but you can't see bitrates for tracks and use seek option of your player (or simply jump to the middle of the file which is currently played back).

As for others (from 00175.wav to 00302.wav), 128 files in total, I don't really know what to do to them as they don't seem to have headers of any kind but it's also not headerless WAV (tried opening a few of them as 16, 24 or even 32-bit unsigned PCM but got nothing except just horrible static). How did you rip those out of a bigfile to begin with? Did you find some game related BMS script or scanned a sound archive with scanner from Ravioli game tools, Extractor by Nova software, GameExtractor by Watto or something else?

Bye, I hope I still helped you... to an extent. See you!

>____________< Thanks Ultrafighter, I wasn't going to give up though. O_o The second batch I only had one to play yesterday before I posted my post, Still thanks for your help :D.

SO how I extracted them the first time is with Multi-Extractor! It in .PAK format and the second time I I did it with the Wwise-Unpacker-master tool I found yesterday. So im going to try both and see which one has better results.

@ TUK The advanced settings in foobar are in preferences and down the bottom

by JILost at 10:02 PM EST on February 21, 2017
I just tried disabling that option and it doesn't seem to change anything. I even tried restarting foobar. Everything is still 3:00. Win 10 / foo 1.3.13 / GEP 1.207
by MarioSonicU at 4:01 PM EST on February 22, 2017
This is my first Music rip. Does it meet the standards for the site?

NBA Jam Extreme (1996-10-31)(Sculptured)(Acclaim).7z
by kode54 at 5:01 PM EST on February 22, 2017
@JILost: Are you sure you removed all the tracks and re-added the .NSF files?
by TheUltimateKoopa at 6:34 PM EST on February 22, 2017
That brings me to another point.

How come simply restarting foobar2000 doesn't update, or simply readding files doesn't update? You have to do both? At least for example, if I was to set the length of a miniusf that's untimed, I have to remove that from the playlist, and then close foobar2000, relaunch foobar2000 and then re-add the file. Or am I doing something wrong? The same happens when disabling "use original header" and enabling M3U support.
by kode54 at 8:32 PM EST on February 22, 2017
No clue. Maybe you're using some sort of dirty hack that prevents file modification timestamps from taking effect? Metadata loading depends on that, and that's a mechanism of foobar2000 itself, not my components.

They'll all load the correct data for playback duration and play for that length, but if you see wrong lengths, it's because something is caching that data.

Are these files in your Media Library? You'll need to delete your entire Media Library database and start over again.
by JILost at 8:40 PM EST on February 22, 2017
Yes. After changing the setting and restarting foobar, I cleared the playlist, went to File -> Open, and chose an NSF (not an M3U). Still 3:00 on every track.
by TheUltimateKoopa at 10:53 AM EST on February 23, 2017
Did you remove the songs from the list, THEN restart it? And I'm aware it's a foobar2000 thing and not to do with the plug-ins.

Hey Knurek, may I ask you a few questions? For a start should there really be pc subdirectory in root folder of pc.joshw.info as well as vita & 3sf ones?

There's also "River City Super Sports Challenge - All-Star Special [Downtown Nekketsu Koushinkyoku - Soreyuke Daiundoukai All-Star Special] (2015-03-05)(Arc System Works).7z" set located in root of psf3 subdomain but not here as expected, I guess this is to be fixed at some point?

Here's one more example of the same thing: "Ben 10 - Galactic Racing (2012-02-05)(Monkey Bar)(D3 Publisher).7z" is currently in main directory but not here. I believe that moving this rip to an appropriate subfolder will help people interested in VGM from that title find it, don't you agree?

And the last thing: there're two rips for the very first Trine game, an old one & newer version by Alpha23. Each aforementioned set contains a single exclusive track but 18/19 files (BGM in OGG format) are byte-wise identical in both of them. Maybe it'll prove useful to delete one of them and reupload another one in slightly enhanced form? How about adding "(mov) logo.wma" from Timo's version to this one and removing that one? Of course you won't gain much space after such an operation but it'll make collection better and tidier, do you agree?

Yours truly Ultrafighter.
by JILost at 9:01 PM EST on February 23, 2017
@TUK Yes, I tried clearing it, -then- restarting foobar and adding an NSF. Still no change.
by Ultrafighter at 1:13 AM EST on February 24, 2017
Hi Knurek, I just remembered about another issue (?) I noticed some time ago: rip of DLC for The evil within, PC version, is not in E directory but in its own one! Was that folder created by a mistake or did you mean to make another folder in pc.joshw.info/e? If the first assumption of mine is correct then you should move DLC gamerip to an appropriate place and get rid of the subdirectory holding a single file, am I right? I hope you'll fix this whenever time allows!
Best wishes, goodbye!

Super Exploding Zoo

Yeah, not much from me this time around.... hopefully next week will bear more fruit.
by JILost at 12:24 AM EST on February 27, 2017
I figured out the problem. The tags are actually being read correctly (although when the m3u starts the track numbering from 1 while the plugin starts the numbering from 0 so each song is off by one) but the playlist view still shows 3:00 and no titles (though the songs still fade at the m3u times).
by marcusss at 7:58 AM EST on February 27, 2017
Just a heads up guys.

In the P section of http://xbox.joshw.info/

someone ripped panzer dragoon orta and it seems to only be music from the original Panzer Dragoon...NOT ORTA at all

it is named "Panzer Dragoon Orta (2003-12-19)(Smilebit)(Sega).7z"

I have the PDO iso and checked and there are lots of music (mostly wavs & some wma) on it including some not in the official soundtrack.

Just thought I would point out the error :-)

So I have the Wii version of Rockstar Games Presents Table Tennis. I used a .bms script which extracts these files contained in .spd/.spt pairs as GENH files(before that, these output files extracted by using SPTex(and with .dsp extension at that!) never worked well with vgmstream).

@ChillyBilly - what was the error you were getting in VGMT? There is one other game that had an issue where I had to force a a PAMF block size of 0x800. If you post the sample that's causing issues, I can take a look.

@bnnm Oh shit is that Eschatos?

Oh hey, I didn't notice that an XWB rip of Ginga Force was posted! Thanks, bnnm! Also, @snakemeat, as I said before, the issue is more due to the fact that the game was improperly dumped, but basically VGMT said something about the files having bad headers. Unfortunately, I don't have the files at hand now to give a more accurate description, but I already plan to do a re-rip at some point anyway, so I'll be sure to report any issues then when that time comes.

With all that being said, I got a few Vita rips done:

Kisuato

Meikyuu Cross Blood: Infinity Ultimate

Saka Agari Hurricane Portable

Until next time!

Speaking of Power Rangers on PS1, when are we getting full rips for Hyakujuu Sentai Gaoranger, Ninpu Sentai Hurricanger, and Power Rangers: Lightspeed Rescue?

Tried wrapping my head around Gaoranger's .iso dump files and didn't get any results (probably why Hurricanger is also an incomplete rip here), and I recall Lightspeed Rescue's sequence information is tracker-based and heavily corrupted when ripped, so difficult to turn into .psf.

I was wondering does anyone got a full rip of KH 2.5 ? Because the other one was missing several track i did try on my own but i got a bunch of sdat.files and didn't find the tool for.

Thnx for DS2 rip bnnm, I grabbed this one the moment I saw it.
Cheers!

I extracted deathsmiles II; XWB are ok but most XSB (names) seem compressed.

Examples here. Maybe somebody can guess the compression method.
Cave was nice enough to include some repeated XSB compressed and uncompressed too.

This is what little I deciphered:
0x00 uncompressed size
0x04 unk size?
0x08 file start
0x0c dictionary stuff?

The first 0x17 bytes after file start don't seem to be compressed?

A few more Vita goodies for the road:

Grisaia no Kajitsu Spinout!? Idol Mahou Shoujo ChiruChiru*Michiru

Punchline

Soccer Tsuku: Pro Soccer Club o Tsukurou!

Also.... I tried my hand at ripping a couple of XBLA games, Nin2-Jump and Omega Five. However.... I didn't get very far with them. I managed to extract some .bin files from the former and some .paz files from the latter, but I'm not sure how to extract the music from them (I know they're the right files though, because I checked through a hex editor). So, I was wondering if I can ask anyone to lend a hand? I already have both games' files uploaded:

Nin2-Jump

Omega Five

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!

Thnx for both TES V addons Marcusss, I got them all with ease and speed! BTW it's a pretty decent site you're using since it can really be compared to the likes of 1Fichier.Com or even ZippyShare.com which are quite good.
All the best!

Just a little question, I search the Twinbee(1) Arcade music file. Where can I find it?
I know, theres also a MSX Version of this, but I want the Arcade-Version too.
Or is there no really different?
by ChillyBilly at 10:30 PM EDT on March 18, 2017
Now for some PC rips:

Chantelise: A Tale of Two Sisters

Chiptune Champion

Mystik Belle

Pharaoh Rebirth+

Xanadu Next (Truth be told, I'm unable to play this game's .dec files, but I'm sure they can be played somehow, since they have RIFF headers. Maybe you guys know how to get these to play?)

Anyway, later!

Finally managed to extract music from those .xxx files in Black Knight Sword. Unreal Engine afterall.

I've reripped GTA IV, adding missing radio stations (mostly talk shows, adverts, etc).

I've also ripped GTA IV: Episodes from Liberty City (some of the IVAUD filed don't play correctly, despite the fact that they can be converted to WAVE by other tools).

Also two other rips:

Grand Theft Auto V (both original files, which are currently unplayable (7 GB) and WAVs for people who just want to listen to them (24 GB). I'll remove the later when the former are supported by VGMStream.
NieR: Automata

Enjoy.

@Knurek - I can`t see the rerip on joshw.info.
by Knurek at 12:16 PM EDT on March 19, 2017
Just give it a few hours, 35 GB of data won't get there immediately. :P
by AnonRunzes at 12:19 PM EDT on March 19, 2017
Sorry.
by Knurek at 1:30 PM EDT on March 19, 2017
I've also ripped PC version of GTA: San Andreas for completeness' sake.
by Ultrafighter at 3:35 PM EDT on March 19, 2017
So the main difference between old and new GTA4 rips is that the former had untouched AWC bigfiles and the latter has IVAUD streams extracted out of *.awc banks, am I correct? And does it mean that OpenIV is absolutely required to dump tracks from GTA V to PCM WAV (maybe one at a time is the only option) or simply listen to them and still some additional players / decoders are needed for select troublesome files from GTA IV & EfLC?
I'm not much into this whole Rage Engine ripping procedure and am mildly interested in soundtracks themselves but long awaited rips like Max Payne 3 can finally make me try out such a streamed set whenever it surfaces.

BTW is GTA:SA gamerip a highly segmented bunch of deciphered OGGs? I heard it from authors of ToWAV and some other ripping tools that all audio in that port of the title in question is initially encrypted plus each song or the tiniest loop is divided into hundreds of short pieces, is it right? I even used their (CTRAX-X Team) respective utility on sound files from my own copy but didn't get too far. I think the program got stuck pretty early in the process so I stopped my attempt at ripping PC version at that point.
Regards!
by Knurek at 4:12 PM EDT on March 19, 2017
GTA:SA has just three variations of intro and outro for each song (DJ variations).
Old GTA4 rip also had IVAUD streams, but was missing talk show radios and bunch of other things. Also, the Episodes weren't ripped at all.
by bnnm at 7:05 PM EDT on March 19, 2017
Some rips:

Zero Escape - Zero Time Dilemma (PC)
Zero Escape - Zero Time Dilemma (PSV) missing movies

deathsmiles IIX (X360)

Malicious (PS3)

nail'd (PS3) (support soon)
nail'd (X360)
(both have .ogg from the PC version but I didn't include them).

@ChillyBilly - Omega Five seems to use a variation of this bms (needs to be figured out), then this.

Nin2 Jump is standard Cave .bin contaning XWB. I forgot where I got the .bms (Xentax?) but here it is.
Note that music can be in any .bin or .xwb (SE.xwb has title.xwb inside, together with SFX) so search well, and some .bin may be just .wmv renamed if the script didn't work.
by Ultrafighter at 3:22 AM EDT on March 20, 2017
Thanks for clarifying it all Knurek, it seems I'll try out GTA:SA rip one day! I just didn't want to deal with it if it's so horrendously segmented as I heard.

Kudos to you Bnnm for providing real DeathSmiles 2 X score! I grabbed an old gamerip many years ago and was quite surprised to not find any tracks missing from an OST. Maybe there still were some additional music pieces not present in official release but I don't really remember.
And it seems I was right not backing up my old PS3 rips of Call of Juarez: Bound in blood, CoJ: The cartel & Dead island and not posting them here. You can now rerip them as it should be and those single-track XWBs are still going to be playable.

Best wishes!
by marcusss at 9:49 AM EDT on March 20, 2017
Finally here is Dead Nation.

It was afterall Wwise wav so converting resulted in ~ 1500 Ogg files so I'm pretty sure I only left the music here ;-)

It's a zombie game so kinda suspense type of music but has some beats here and there.

Hi guys. I ripped music from the game Resogun (PS3) and about 75% of the music works fine. It is in wwise wav which I converted to OGG but a few files look corrupted or just won't convert from wwise to OGG. When converted it is all garbled.

I tried different codebooks but no luck.

~13MB HERE

It is probably something simple I missed.. but could someone try to convert them to WORKING oggs?? Thanks

I will upload the rip here once I can get those last few songs playable. Good pumping music -:)

I also managed to rip Castlevania Harmony of Despair for the PS3. It has some DLC music included. The Music plays fine AT3 inside MSF container but I don't know how to get loop points in it as the music doesn't loop in Foobar. It is only ~30mb

CV-HoD PS3

1 more thing. I will upload OKAMI HD (PS3) as I managed to extract the ADX from it. It contains also encrypted yet playable ADX files.

**CRI ADX 4-bit ADPCM (type 8 encryption)

The music is ~750MB

Cheers

**** 1 question to ask...How to do you split adx again as there are like 11 adx tracks that are 4 channel so should be the variations. I want to split them up :P

Thanks

Mark
