I know the feeling chillybilly. Sometimes i have left sfx in a rip. Well they are usually small in size so people can filter it out..or at a later date can reupload a fixed version.but always great to have more VGM GOODNESS :-)
by bnnm at 4:14 AM EDT on May 21, 2017
MGS4 is playable now, full set be here (2nd hcs post).
Note that much like other MGS some tracks mix several subtracks (even 12ch as 4ch+4ch+4ch).

I uploaded Patchwork Heroes (PSP, rerip) and Aka (PC) too.

I noticed the current Crystal Defenders rip on the server didn't work with VGMSTREAM so I re-ripped it. Enjoy.

Hi Knurek

I updated Rain World. The game had mp3 in the game folder but maybe was a bonus or something?? as the game itself..i.e. the archive files contain lots of OGG which are the same as the MP3 plus lots of other bits and pieces..So more files this time around. PLease can you replace this with the older one I uploded to the server. Thanks

Te only thing I can't get is the game has lots of dynamic stuff. like an ogg playing endless beats another ogg with different looping sounds and ingame they mix them up depending on when the enemy is closer/danger etc..

Other than that I got most of what I would consider "MUSIC"

Rain World rip updated

Also the game engine using OGG so results in smaller sized files.. Archive is about 100MB smaller.

***Before I thought the game used the folder with the MP3s in it but doesn't make sense when the game archives have the same music in OGG format plus additional tunes and dynamic tracks etc...... (so must be a bonus music folder for game owners to enjoy or something??)

Don't give it too much thought Marcusss, many developer solutions can appear strange to us but they still have some sense for devs. For example some BGMs & videos can be found both in a specific directory and main game archive, those files are absolutely the same but for some reason they (developers) decided to "waste" space with duplicates. My guess is that placing such heavy yet frequently used files in a folder helps loading them to RAM a bit faster but this might be wrong. It's the case with Hot wheels: Highway 35 world race (PC) or Jacked (PS2), probably a few other titles (I can't remember them ATM).
Oh and look at Turok (2008) for PC! Most tracks there are present both in OGG Vorbis and PCM WAV, one can say the former is unneeded when the latter is at hand but both variants should be used, am I right? I presume *.ogg files are used much more often as they're so small (112 kbps at best) and can be loaded to random-access memory much faster than those *.wav files. On the other hand WAVs come in handy during cutscenes or something, in such moments you can forget about general frame rate and don't try to speed up overall performance of the videogame.
I hope this clears up some of your questions, goodbye!

Thanks Ultrafighter

Good thing at least with Rain World, the OGG music files are decent quality roughly around ~170kbps

I'm guessing Amped 3 is taking a bit since it is 1.7GB afterall ;-)

Today I also uploaded a few more XBOX360 games

Two Worlds 2 249MB
Fracture 180MB
Bound by Flame 249MB
Tony Hawk RIDE 512MB

Uploading... Middle Earth Shadows of Mordor 300 something MB lol

Edit -- @ Knurek I noticed I left an archive file inside Middle Earth so had to upload again. Is actually ~ 140MB only. oh nos...so can you delete the streaming.pck file before adding it to the server again. Otherwise I will reupload when I get home

Got a few PC rips here:

Dub Dash (My apologies if a sound effect or two is present, once again I don't get enough time to sort out the files)

A Lenda do Herói (This game uses a dynamic soundtrack (the lyrics being sung in Portuguese), but basically every file titled "base" are the main music tracks)

Mercenary Kings

Enjoy!

Hey all, just a little note that for vgm.hcs64.com I replaced the dumb upload form with a fancy html5 one that allows resuming and as such allowed me to rise the size limit again. Also made it accessible for all visitors, let's see if there are anonymous contributions.

Here's more stuff:

PC

Turn

Vita

Aqua Kitty: Milk Mine Defender DX

Curses 'N Chaos

Funk of Titans

Heroes of Loot

PulzAR

Shutshumi (I should note that despite this being a Unity rip, the majority of music came in WAV files to begin with, so there was no tampering on my part)

Hi all, I'd like to thank Knurek once again since he's our main stealth supplier (or better say undercover provider) of most recent releases / overdue ports / rips of point & click adventure titles. Big thanks for adding Vanquish & Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 for PC to VGM collection, I'm also grateful for Hitman GO and Metal dead.

And you Marcusss are as productive as the best VGM Legacy rippers back in the day! May I suggest a few titles for you to look at? I've been wanting to request those from Alpha23 for years now but frankly saying I'm almost sure I'm able to rip them all myself although one of them is PS3 exclusive with headerless ATRAC3 for codec. Other VGs are multi-platform but, alas, they are all based on UE3... But you've dealt with it before, right?
In any case, I'm not gonna be persistent. If you're uninterested in all those videogames then you're & I won't persevere. So are you interested or not?

Hey Datschge, thnx for search and update list! However I'm not so sure about that anonymous uploads thing but we'll see...
Later!
by datschge at 6:21 AM EDT on May 27, 2017
@AnonRunzes, you uploaded around one third of Guild01 so far. To continue/finish it just upload it "again", it will automatically only upload those 1MB chunks that weren't done yet.

@Ultrafighter, it's just a more convenient web front to the anonymous sftp access that exists for years already. Knurek will sift through the data in any case.
by AnonRunzes at 6:47 AM EDT on May 27, 2017
@datschge - Interesting how I left that out...
by datschge at 12:58 PM EDT on May 27, 2017
@AnonRunzes - That was not your mistake. On error it looked like it completed the upload even though it did not. It didn't shown a success message, but also no error message, and the progress bar still filled completely. I've rectified all that so now it complains loudly and offers to retry or reload.
by AnonRunzes at 1:45 PM EDT on May 27, 2017
@datschge - Okay, I can see it now.

Although out of all the reuploading tries so far, none of them worked.

@AnonRunzes - Now I'm confused. You already completed Guild01 before my previous response so of course there was no partial upload left... or what are you talking about? I was just reproducing and fixing the lack of error feedback and writing about that. ^^

Edit: Wow, you managed to upload Guild01 four more times since (and it's hogging space on my server now as it already exists on joshw.info). It's done! You don't need to repeat it again and again. :D Just for additional clarification, it says "Upload of (fileName) completed" when it's finished.

Hi all, I've got yet another bunch of titles which might be reripped using the newest tools available out there. I think this would also prove useful for Marcusss if he ever wanted to reprocess some other games in addition to Kingdom under fire: The crusaders & KuF: Heroes.
I guess such a list could also serve the purpose of making existing rips much more complete than they're now since a few of them are currently lacking something. So here it goes, organized by my old ripping methods:

BIK->WAV->APE (I didn't redownload then demultiplex Bink videos from these specific platforms because I ripped their X360 versions and properly demuxed movies from the latter platform; those 3 videogames used BIK on both consoles so original *.bik files are presumed to be identical but it doesn't hurt to recheck vids anyway; IMO it'd be the best solution to delete APE encodes of audio tracks from movies and reupload just streamed BGM & icon music from the following old PS3 rips of mine):
Monster jam: Path of destruction (PS3);
NeverDead (PS3);
The Bourne conspiracy (PS3).
FSB->GENH:
Hot wheels: Battle force 5 (Wii) - I've never even intended to post this here but I guess it'd still be much better to redo this VG with FSBii instead of FSBext. This small yet nice score can't really compete with Beat that! or World race or even Stunt track challenge but it's still some neat original VGM from a mediocre title.
FSB->MP3:
GI Joe: The rise of cobra (PS3) - current set has demuxed ADXs coming from USM vids but it only contains stereo variants of ingame music. There're also 5.1 mixes of all those tracks in music51.fsb as well as mono variations of select compositions in gui.fsb or something. FSB MPEG by HCS was the only way to rip the game back in the day but maybe now both mono & stereo interleaved FSB MP3s are supported by VGMstream. What if there's even no need to dump original 6 channel tracks to 3 stereo ones nowadays? It'd be truly great and this score really deserves it... IMHO!
FSB->WAV (I didn't simply extract individual tracks with FSBext and change extension from *.wav to *.lwav or *.xwav, I used "-A" key so all unpacked ADPCM files were assigned IMA codec tag instead of XBox one, 0x11 but not 0x69 as usual):
Devil may cry: HD collection (PS3) - I didn't add it to HCS64 tracker back in the day but I presume it's for the better now, these days any folks interested in it can rerip this title with FSBii, not FSBext (all BGMs should be playable when extracted that way);
Monster jam: Path of destruction (PS3).
FSB->XMA:
Conan (2007) (X360) - all jingles from conan_music_stingers.fsb & conan_sound folder + conan_vo_en\conan_reveal directory (there're lots of FSBs there and 95% pieces there are SFX or VO clips but also some clean music can be found there; you can get my older rip to get directions where to look for any additional music in this title);
Monster jam: Path of destruction (X360).
WMV->WMA (if someone doesn't want to use Windows media encoder series to demux *.wmv videos but desires to apply Bnnm's technique to any WMVs he ever encounters):
Hot wheels: Beat that! (X360) - I did this as well as some other platforms just for myself and never posted it anywhere. BTW it'd certainly be cool to have XBox version archived here since it's the easiest one to rip plus one can easily get filenames for all the tracks.
XWB->PCM WAV->TAK (I believe XWB Split by Bnnm should do the trick so the third step is now completely unneeded):
MechAssault 2: Lone wolf - look for Music.xwb_dvd or Music.dvd_xwb, it's the most typical Xbox wave bank despite misleading file extension.
XWB->XMA (xwb_split.exe should be used on the title in question, this notion only applies to a single XWB file from MP directory though):
Battlefield 2: Modern combat (X360).
XWB->WAV (I used EkszBox-ABX on both VGs since it'd surely be much longer work and more bothersome task to process them with UnXWB, QuickBMS & 2 scripts by Alpha23; now XWB_Split should do entire job easily):
Battlefield 2: Modern combat (original Xbox) - MP exclusive tracks only, they're all located in one XWB in mp folder and can be found there with ease;
MechAssault 2: Lone wolf - bigger part of the game's score (or is it actually all APM Music?) is encoded using a pretty common variant of ADPCM codec, not PCM of any kind.

@ChillyBilly: kudos for Giana sisters: Twisted dreams, I'm so curious to check it out! I'm sure Machinae supremacy's work isn't gonna disappoint me, I'll grab a copy very soon!
Bye guys, see you soon!

Hi Ultrafighter,

When i can I can take a look at some. I have a couple for xbox360 like that GI JOE game so I can see what music /formats it presents :-) no ps3 version though as I don't have much ps stuff these days but if I come across a copy online I can take a look.

I'm interested in Conan and Mech Assault 2 X360 so might try to grab them from somewhere to take a look

Cheers!
by Ultrafighter at 11:22 AM EDT on May 30, 2017
Hey Marcusss, I hope you decoded all FSBs from The crew with fsb_aud_extr.exe and got hundreds of PCM files with overall length of 9:51:59.521 instead of listening to original 51 *.fsb archives via VGMstream? If you merely listened through those 50+ original FSB Vorbis banks you missed a lot since their play length is just 1:48:28.350.
Anyway it'd not hurt to add small text files with instructions like "Convert all with EAlayer3.exe" or "Process all with FSB Audio extractor (fsb_aud_extr)". I guess it'd be very useful for future generations because not everyone is ripping savvy. BTW since there're so many different contributors nowadays I believe that ripper's name should also be in that tiny TXT / doc.

As for my requests they're John Woo's Stranglehold, Mortal kombat vs. DC Universe & Haze. The 1st one is the most interesting to me but it should be the most time-consuming or even the hardest one to rip, the 2nd one has to be almost identical to Mortal kombat (2011) (I mean audio system obviously) and the 3rd one might be the most difficult. It's up to you now to take these requests or not. In any case please inform me of your decision in regards to any of those titles.

Cheers!
by marcusss at 11:41 AM EDT on May 30, 2017
I used to use fsb audio extractor but i want to keep origial fsb files compared to converting them to pcm etc. I remembee using it for Dark Souls II and was a mess with songs playig too slow.or wrong sample rate etc..But i can use it i guess to make sure I don't miss any music..just to be sure ;-)

I think future generations will have no patience to rip or try workig HARD things out.so probably.want someone else to provide the music than themselves. It is a good idea to keeps notes on how one ripped a game if it was difficult and ripper's name wouldn't hurt either but credits aren't that important just share so everyone can enjoy vgm together :)
by Ultrafighter at 1:57 AM EDT on May 31, 2017
Of course you had to include only initial normal (I mean multi-track) FSBs because FSBii doesn't work with the game (or this type of audio banks altogether), FSBext unpacks individual OGGs but they don't have expected headers of any kind thus they're unplayable & providing PCM decodes would be virtually useless since they're not simply way bigger than original vorbis tracks but also represent unneeded transcodes and we don't need this stuff archived here. I only meant that VGMstream loads all these given *.fsb archives in playlist but only plays the very first track. Even I started listening to your rip that way but I figured out something went really wrong rather quickly and used that tool instead of our plugin on most FSBs (except a pair of XMA2 ones). Wouldn't an hour + less than 49 minutes be too short for a 341 MB rip (or 342 MB unpacked)? But this might be not so obvious to a typical listener who doesn't rip much and shouldn't be surprised at "tracks" that last a few minutes but have bitrates equaling 1234 kbps or even 1567 kilobit per second.
BTW if there was an instruction doc in The crew set I'd add "00000014.fsb is to be decoded using fmod_extr.exe, not fsb_aud_extr.exe" since the latter doesn't work right in this case, 4/5 5.1 compositions are incorrectly dumped to PCM (they're merely few milliseconds long). But enough of this Crew discussion, maybe we should get to some other topics?

I'm glad you're working on "GI Joe: The rise of cobra", an entirely new platform of the title in question would be even more interesting than rerip of another one, be it PS2 or PS3 or even PSP. If you have any trouble with Conan and Mech assault never hesitate to ask (BTW MechAssault 1 and its sequel titled "Lone wolf" are not for X360, they were both developed for original Xbox), it'd be my pleasure to help you out in any way possible!
Regards, Ultrafighter.

Dragon Bros.

DubWars

Geometry Dash

Last Dream: World unknown

Lock's Quest

Nadia Was Here

Santa Rockstar HD

Shu

Tokyo 42

PS2

Cyber Troopers Virtual-On Marz (I hope this is a complete rip.... there was a LOT of audio to sort through for this one (mainly cutscene stuff), and I don't have enough free time to be as careful and thorough as I'd like for these things. Also, for some reason a few of the tracks sounded static-y, but that might just be me, I dunno)

by marcusss at 6:42 AM EDT on June 3, 2017
You can download it online already although there is no crack yet so one must wait for it to be able to play
..but being a vgm paradise here I would be happy if its music was ripped first though.
It is 38gb compressed apparently. Hmm xbox360 games I have ripped lately have been 16gb so not much more of a stretch .

PS2

Jojo no Kimyou na Bouken: Phantom Blood (Note that this rip contains a LOT of duplicate tracks)

Kamen Rider Kabuto (I used VGMT's "Sshd/Ssbd Type 1" preset to extract the music, but.... I dunno, the audio sounds slightly distorted to me. Still doesn't sound all that bad though, hence why I still posted it)

Ougon Kishi Garo

Xbox 360

BloodRayne: Betrayal

Virtual-On: Oratorio Tangran Ver. 5.66

Hey Marcusss! So how you like G.I. Joe score now? If you liked orchestral (Arctic level, Baroness fight, etc.) and / or ethnic (jungle & desert maps) tracks from this title then Stranglehold original soundtrack is the first place to look for such stuff. That John Woo's project was partially scored by the very same composers so keep it in mind. BTW Mortal kombat vs. DC Universe & Haze are also works by Sascha Dikiciyan & Cris Velasco.
In case you especially liked batcenter, biolab, detention or weather BGMs you should know that WWE All stars has a number of such compositions too.
Till next time!

(From someone who owns the game, yours truly)
The game contains every song from the entire tekken series. Unfortunately, the PS4 version doesn't sound high quality (at least to me).

EDIT: Ya know these might be the same files used in all versions of the game. A mix of IMA, PCM, and vorbis. I do notice the vorbis stuff sounds very lossy, a low bit rate was probably used. Some of the PCM files sound as if they were converted from a low bit rate source too. I'm also noticing that the multichannel bgm is using vorbis with the downmixed stereo versions using PCM instead (some, not all).

Also, that's a shame they didn't want to include the jukebox mode. It's not like they had to worry about storage space compared to having a disc format like on console versions.

Jukebox mode is actually a PS4 exclusive. None of the older Tekken BGMs are in the WwiseAudio folder, outside a song that's slightly adjusted for story mode. It's only large because it seems to contain older revisions of certain specific bgms (even some were left over since the beta version of Tekken 7 for Arcade.)

...already too late to post it (edit), but yes 6-channel audio is another reason.

edited 5:46 AM EDT June 6, 2017
by bxaimc at 12:08 AM EDT on June 6, 2017
It's also large because it contains surround and stereo and even split (stereo + stereo) versions of the BGM. (Not to mention the use of PCM)
by marcusss at 4:36 AM EDT on June 6, 2017
I will still download it. But yes is amazing they would still use compressed..well heavily compressed these days. Like you said storage space is no issue .
I was happy with Perfect Dark steroe they used high quality music inside the XWBs. These days the game music rip can rival the soundtrack quality.

I guess soon more games will flood with GB of music soon enough. Haha we are all doomed.

On another note if knurek is around. About The Crew I uploaded, I already split the remaining FSBs I forgot from the original rip but the size now shows 600+ Mb instead of 300+Mb like both uploads have been added together? You can just delete the FSBs with numbers like 00001.fsb for example..purely example but yeah keep the FSBs with names.

Well, here's a rip I did just for fun and because I didn't see it.

Xbox 360:
Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 (2006 XBLA Version)
https://www.dropbox.com/s/co7vdxxaznio7j3/UMK3x360.7z?dl=0

Some tracks loop even though they're supposed to stop, but I don't know what to do about those.

EDIT: All tracks are present and accounted for

I was originally going to post the entire xwb here until someone here posted the link to the xwb splitter a few posts back, so thank you for that.

Does someone could do a proper rip of Burnout 2 (Xbox/PS2 or GC) ? Thanks.
by marcusss at 7:47 AM EDT on June 9, 2017
I have done a fairly decent genh rip of burnout 2 but the original files, whether idx or rws (depending on platform) are not supported yet. Renderware sound games haven't been figured out yet I believe but a few of us love Burnout 2 and have been eagerly awaiting support for years in vgmstream.

Here's a few goodies:

PC

ClaDun Returns: This is Sengoku! (Once again, didn't have time to sort out the SFX, sorry)

PS2

Uchuu Keiji Tamashii: The Space Sheriff Spirits (I ripped this the same way as the Kamen Rider Kabuto rip from a while back, so the music's gonna sound a little strange)

Xbox 360

Bullet Soul: Infinite Burst

Hell Yeah! Wrath of the Dead Rabbit

Might have a few more uploads this weekend, we'll see!

Uploads:
- Gunslinger Stratos Reloaded (PC)
Rare SQEX arcade/online game already shutdown. +2.5GB of Wwise PCM. Most songs loop but have proper endings.

- Wild Arms 4 (PS2) [@ frontend]
XWB/XWH re-rip with all tracks (JP/US). The original bigfile was simply WA4BGM.BIN but the header .XWH was in the EXE, split using AnonRunzes' BMS.

I also did a quick Wwise SoundbanksInfo.xml name extractor XLS, in short get this and run the msxsl.BAT in the same dir. Then run the wwise-renamer.BAT it creates.
For now only works with plain .wem (not from .bnk), and I only tested it with Gunslinger Stratos, but should be easy to modify.
Note that not every .wem has a name inside the SoundbanksInfo.xml

Btw @datschge and/or @Knurek, could you guys add some platform/domain filter to the joshw frontend? Like if I want to search for PS2 sets only.
by datschge at 5:15 PM EDT on June 11, 2017
@bnnm, that will be possible in due course.

The Witch and the Hundred Knight
by Ultrafighter at 2:07 AM EDT on June 12, 2017
Hey Knurek, there're still 2 absolutely identical Driv3r sets in PC section, can anything be done about it? I guess this time one of those archives can be deleted without the second thought but it's up to you to decide.
@Datschge, that'd be cool, I'd really like to see such a feature too! Specifying wanted platforms before starting a search should be very useful for us and all future generations!
So long!

Whoever uploaded GTA3 XBOX and Sonic the Hedgehog PS3 pacs, please either resume or reupload them, as the archives are broken.
by AnonRunzes at 6:54 PM EDT on June 13, 2017
@Krunek - "Whoever uploaded GTA3 XBOX and Sonic the Hedgehog PS3 pacs, please either resume or reupload them, as the archives are broken."
Will do. I still don`t know why are these broken archives still kept in the listing though, since the broken archives will still be there even after the upload is succesful, especially if the the file I`m trying to upload has the same filename.

However, here is some piece of advice next time anyone uploads a set at vgm.hcs64.com. Whatever you do, do not close the "Resumable File Upload" page after you`ve done uploading. Just wait for a little bit until it reaches its full size.

EDIT: Guess that renaming the filename to a new one is the only way to reupload that broken archive. Anyway the sets should be reuploaded by the time they`re done.

edited 8:37 PM EDT June 13, 2017
by datschge at 3:08 AM EDT on June 14, 2017
@AnonRunzes - Yes, one needs to rename an upload if the file already exists. The upload form will never overwrite an existing file. I'll look if and how I can move the check earlier so that unnecessarily uploading bigger sets that are then rejected is avoided from the beginning.
Edit: w/e, instead rejecting dupes I'll simply append '.dupe' to the file name and accept that. And if a file with the same file name is uploaded yet another time it will overwrite that dupe one then. *shrugs*

@Knurek - The files already have been completed as far as the upload form is concerned at the point they appear in the directory you access. Incomplete uploads can never trigger the copy move between the servers. So if a set is corrupted you can safely delete it and request a re-upload.

Please disregard all of the above. It appears phpseclib is aggressive about memory usage for no reason and that caused some bigger uploads to be interrupted (sorry for having you play the guinea pig again, AnonRunzes)... I replaced it with straight sftp outside php. No check if a file already exists for now.

edited 1:19 PM EDT June 14, 2017

@Knurek - the script now uploads the files with '.part' appended to their names and only removes that afterward so you'll see right away which files are still in progress of being uploaded or were interrupted (which shouldn't happen again, but better safe than sorry...).

Yeah thanks Datschge. Great to see instantly which games have been ripped and what platform!

Currently uploading..

Fable II pub games since current xma rip was broken. I reripped the game. Working XWB audio. Kept music and some jingles and stuff.but.removed effects etc.. uless someone wants them. Someone request the game rip recently.

Halo 4 xbox360
20 WEM wma 9 music play silence at end of tracks. Hmm but all the vorbis music play fine ~400mb worth.

Elisa the innkeeper PC. Uses licensed relaxation OGG music from bandcamp?. One song is 88200khz also.

Burnout 2 xbox (since files are now supported..At least the XBOX version works at the moment) ~1.4GB of goodness. I really don't think they are multistreamed as from memory( yes quite a while ago..) the main streams are the only music... the gam had an intro, a main track music and the replay music which was a louder more bassy version of the track music.. That's it..but maybe other rws .games use multistreamed music

F.E.A.R XBOX360

Guncraft blocked and loaded XBOX360

Sam and Max Beyond Time and Space XBOX360. Some decent Jazz and old style music :-)

Singularity (60% files supported except unreal engine x360.audio files which i included.

The Smurfs 2 XBOX360

Here I am with some rip-a-dee-doo-das:

PC

Berserk and the Band of the Hawk (Been wanting to rip the PS3 version of this for some time, but that version's audio wouldn't extract properly for me. Anyway, while I also demuxed the movies, for some reason, they don't play for me.... can anyone else confirm if they work or not?)

Bot Vice

Crush

ReVeN: XBridge

Super Stone Legacy (The majority of the audio was in .wav format to begin with despite being a Unity game, so no tampering on my part here)

PS2

Busou Renkin: Youkoso Papillon Park e

Kamen Rider Hibiki (This rip is actually incomplete because there were a couple tracks I wasn't able to extract... but I figured I'd just post what I have, anyway)

PS3

Mugen Souls

'Til next time!

Hey Knurek, I've just noticed a few minor typos in names of some recently added sets so that I figured out you'd like to fix those. Here they're (characters which are currently missing are bold):
Elisa the Innkeeper (2017-02-16)(Neoclassic).7z PC
Final Station, The (2016-08-30)(Oleg Sergeev, Andrey Rumak)(tinyBuild).7z PC

BTW huge thnx for ripping all these "The binding of Isaac" sequels, I'm sure I'll grab them ASAP (maybe even right now)! Please do keep it up (I mean continue further extending streamed VGM collection and adding gamerips from the most recent and not so fresh releases)!
Take care!

Hi Ultrafighter !

Thanks for that. That program will come in handy.
There must be lots of rips starting to come in at the moment. VGM lovers dream come true

I just uploaded Lego Star Wars 2 and Monster Madness: Batle For Surburbia, for the x360. Some decent quality songs and amount of music overall with these.

Cheers !

Hi Knurek, I've just discovered that both PC sets for Torchlight The First (namely "Torchlight (2009)(Runic)(Perfect World).7z" & "Torchlight (2009-10-27)(Runic)(Perfect World).7z") are absolutely the same, there's not a single exclusive file in any of them like in those Trine I rips. Maybe you'd choose to get rid of one copy of Torchlight #1 gamerip instead of keeping both?
These 2 archives are pretty small to begin with but I guess in this exact case the second one isn't needed at all. What you say?

BTW there's a pair of weird tracks in "The binding of Isaac: Antibirth" set, those two OGGs I'm speaking about can only be played in XMPlay since Foobar2000 can't even read format specs for those files... Has anyone else encountered similar problem?

@Marcusss: hmm, which platform of TMNT '07 are you ripping ATM? Just wondering.

See you guys!

Hi Ultrafighter. I was ripping the xbox360 ver of tmnt 07. Using that program i saved the layer files but also converted to wav and the music is all bits and pieces. Hardly any music unless it is like PSX DOOM where they had samples and just mixed them together to make music.. i was uninterested in the end as there was nothing interesting that I would call music.
by Ultrafighter at 3:42 AM EDT on June 21, 2017
Yep, unfortunately it's right: there're so many top-notch (Goldeneye: Rogue agent, 007: Everything or nothing) or simply neat (Open season, 007: From Russia with love) scores which aren't so pleasant to listen to in streamed form! This mostly applies to dozens of EA (Sled storm '02, any SSX installment & many NFS ones) & UbiSoft soundtracks but I don't see any pattern here. For example there're no segmented compositions in Surf's up or Rainbow six: Vegas, Need for speed: ProStreet (PS2) or NASCAR 2005 Chase for the cup (GC), well there's plenty of such examples too.
You see highly interactive VGM can or can't be all "bits 'n pieces" as you said, apparently it depends merely on developer's whim (or choice of sound solution which is easier to be implemented into the game). One cannot tell what audio system the title uses until he rips it.
See you!
by marcusss at 11:04 AM EDT on June 21, 2017
Thanks for the Nex Machina rip Knurek :) Eagerly awaiting the re-rip of it as it has some playback issues atm hey..but the songs that DO work are awesome Ari's magic once again !!

I just uploaded some more X360 stuff.

* DSII Scholars of the First Sin. Only DSII was ripped on X360 previously. FSB5

* Kingdom Under Fire - Circle of Doom as previous rip was XMA and didn't work so this re-rip is XWB with looping.

Little question :
On Saturn/PSX games, sometimes the redbook audio is compressed as mp3. Is it possible to share a rip with the wav file instead?
by AnonRunzes at 8:50 AM EDT on June 23, 2017
@DCX - "On Saturn/PSX games, sometimes the redbook audio is compressed as mp3. Is it possible to share a rip with the wav file instead?"
I might very well plan to do that.
by Ultrafighter at 2:05 AM EDT on June 24, 2017
Anyone has plans to rerip Mortal kombat (2011) for PS3? Not only most ADPCM tracks (quad loops) from existing rip don't work there's probably lack of some short audio pieces from other FSB banks (containing SFX encoded using interleaved MP3), I recall discovering such files when I started my own rip many years ago (and stopped going through all these Audio_*.xxx archives rather soon).
So are there any folks willing to fix that old VGM set for future generations to benefit from better version? Believe me MK9 score totally deserves it!

BTW I've just remembered that my The warriors (XBox) set might be redone as well with help of that XWB Split tool (there're hundreds of single-stream XWBs though, those banks hold one relatively long composition each but there're also loads of additional music tracks, CS sound & so on in a few gigantic *.xwb banks, the latter contain thousands of ADPCM files each!). Possibly someone is even going to add much more cutscene tracks to his final release than I did, I actually excluded most IG CS sounds since they didn't contain any real music (IMO) in them. Whatever...
Goodbye all!

For Tekken Tag on PS2, the rip lacks the original Arcade soundtrack (switch possible in the options).
by mariofan12ify at 12:33 PM EDT on June 24, 2017
I might have already asked this before but the files for Mario Strikers Charged here have really shitty loops and are missing the character themes. Is this what they're supposed to be like or is there a chance of a better rip?

by house at 9:33 AM EDT on June 27, 2017
@ChillyBilly
In my expectation, until 11 are easy.
First 4 byte is one file size written by little endian.
But, that is NOT include the size of the header part.
The header size is 0x800 (2048) byte.

So, First 4 byte little endian + 0x800 = One file
First 4 byte little endian + 0x800 + 1 is next file.
Very simple struct.

Case 12, complexity struct.
Case 8, or 9, BGM file is "STRBGM.VAS".
If drop "STRBGM.VAS" on foobar2000, you can playback 1st music data.
That's a simple struct, then you will get music if do split above method.
But On 12, occur error.

Reuploaded all PSP, Game Boy Advance and WonderSwan sets.
No change made to the actual sets, all PSP ones were switched from AT3+POS to plain AT3 (where possible). I've updated the playlist data, so everything in the archive should be playable with VGMStream as is.
I've also generated playlist data for GBA and WSR sets.
Let me know if I managed to break something while doing the above.
by AnonRunzes at 11:01 PM EDT on June 27, 2017
Okay, I don't usually post stuff regarding my uploads at vgm.hcs64.com, but here I am.

The Mad Dash Racing(XBOX) set will be uploaded on an untouched manner due to the fact that aside from .bika(which will also include all five language tracks from each demuxed video if available), the .str format might not be supported by vgmstream since I extracted it from archive.rkv using an unreleased, modified version of crystal_dynamics.bms that already exists on aluigi's site.

Therefore, I will only release the script when I get through all versions of all games Crystal Dynamics has developed until Tomb Raider Legend. I only need to check a few things first just to see if my modified script can properly extract whatever .rkv archives Crystal Dynamics has used on one of their games.

I'm not going to upload the set immediately though, I came here just to let anyone know about this.

I only have one PS3 upload today, but it's a pretty dang hefty one at over 2GB:

Ryu ga Gotoku 1&2 HD Edition (Or Yakuza 1&2 HD if you prefer)

BTW, I'm already in the middle of ripping Kiwami as I type this. Should have it up and ready around this time tomorrow. ;)

BTW @house, thanks for the info about the Power Pro rips, but which tool did you use to split the data? I assume either VGMToolbox or QuickBMS? Just curious, is all.
by house at 9:17 AM EDT on July 1, 2017
@ChillyBilly
I used python and the editor can edit binary.
No special tools.

The algorithm was pretty simple and if it can be generated from source to executable file, language was arbitrary.
Python is too easy.
If installed and write like "hello world" print code, already done.

With 30 lines of miscellaneous code, I could write the source of executable file to split.
Do I have to write algorithm?
by AnonRunzes at 12:22 PM EDT on July 1, 2017
Why is an older set "PoPoLoCrois - Hajimari no Bouken" still there in ps2.joshw.info?
http://i.imgur.com/GZb6pRl.png

The set I uploaded a while ago "trumps" the older one in that it has all the streamed audio included in the game, and all of the format used in the game is intact even with the splitted .xwb/.xwh files.

Now compare that with the 2013 rip and there are GENH files(demuxed .pss audio files(.ss2) are out of the question) that were converted from a format that vgmstream already supports today.
