Uploads:
- Capcom vs. SNK 2 (PS2)
- Tales of Zestiria (PC)
- Drakengard 2 extra JP tracks (PS2)

I think I actually DLd Zestiria from here, but I don't see it in joshw, so.
The PS3 version seems to use the exact same files.

@Knurek - can you rename PS2 Devil Kings > Devil Kings [Sengoku Basara]?

Will grab it. THX

Got a few PS3 goodies here:

Saint Seiya: Soldiers' Soul

Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed (Didn't have time to sort out the voices/SFX from this one, sorry)

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan

Tekken 6 (Dupes a-freaking-plenty with this one. Again, didn't have time to sort it all out)

Transformers: Devastation

Huh, I wonder why the wwise audio for Platinum titles don't loop.... well, whatever. Anyways, enjoy!

by Knurek at 12:35 AM EDT on September 2, 2017
@bnnm: Renamed.
Speaking of Tekken 6, anyone could take a look at the PSP version?
I've tried to rip it a few times, couldn't get around to it - either it has compressed datafiles or uses custom header for its AT3 streams. :\
by Kirishima at 1:36 AM EDT on September 2, 2017
I ripped the XA audio from "Tales of Phantasia", the English patch version although that shouldn't matter since it should still contain the same xa streams. If I were to upload it to vgm.hcs64, would it be added to the current set or would I need to add the psf's that are currently there to my files and upload the whole thing?
by Knurek at 1:57 AM EDT on September 2, 2017
Just upload however you want, if it needs to be added to the current set, just make a note of it in the archive name/txt file inside archive.

@Knurek - Tekken 6 PSP uses Namco's "nub" header at3 version, as seen in a RAM dump. It's a simple wrapper, like "nub" xma/vag are in T6 X360/RR7 PS3. Interesting T6 PS3 didn't use it.

But the data is encrypted in an invisible DATA.BIN, I think DATA401.IDX (also encrypted) has the index table, so that's the hard part.
by ChillyBilly at 11:00 PM EDT on September 2, 2017
A little something for the PC:

Greedy Guns

Also, the Wii U rips reminded me: A while back I ripped Dr. Luigi, but the music came in this "MSCF" archive. I don't think it's sequenced either, since it was clearly in a stream folder. Maybe anyone knows how to get anything playable out of this thing? Got the file right here:

Dr. Luigi

^As always, thanks in advance to anyone who can help!

PS2

Hermina to Culus Lilie no Atelier Mou Hitotsu no Monogatari (2001-12-20) (Gust).7z - Not sure if this is an acceptable name or not.

Another Gust game done, many to go.

@Knurek As of right now, Atelier Viorate cannot be played back on any player for some reason. So that game probably won't be uploaded anytime soon :(. If you want, I could probably tag the tracks at least. The game has a debug menu so I can tag them if needed, but its a mystery if the psf2s themselves are at fault.

@punk7890-2: TY, up on server, looking up to future uploads, and yeah, both me and snakemeat (IIRC) took a look at Viorate previously and couldn't get ahead.
There's always the PSP remake (and streams from previous Atelier games in PS3 titles)
by punk7890-2 at 8:05 AM EDT on September 3, 2017
Thanks for uploading it. Yeah, I realized Atelier Ayesha has a massive pack of music in good quality which happens to have Viorate's entire soundtrack.

Metal Gear Solid (1998-09-03)(KCE Japan)(Konami).7z (when Knurek redirects my upload)

As discussed here, it has some problems. In short: at the moment, only Mednafen is known to play these PSFs without issues. If you want to listen to them in your favorite player as badly as me, maybe try to poke at some PSF plugin developers to see if they can't try to fix the SPU IRQ emulation (if that is indeed the ultimate problem for these PSFs..).

PS2

Atelier Lilie Plus - Salberg no Renkinjutsushi 3 (2002-04-04)(Gust) - Only added and tagged the streamed tracks.

Also on the current PSF2 plugin for Foobar, the Atelier Judie set is broken with it (it played fine about a year or so ago). There is a lot of instruments missing while playing songs. I tried re-ripping it to see if it was a bad set, but I get the same results.
by bnnm at 12:08 PM EDT on September 6, 2017
Uploads:
- Blood+ One Night Kiss (PS2)
- Sine Mora (X360) [re-rip with names and full tracks]
- Red Dead Redemption (X360) [unplayable for now]
- Lightning Returns - Final Fantasy XIII (X360)

Many LR FFXIII use 2ch+2ch for main+subsong, but vgmstream plays all at the same time; I don't have an appropriate solution ATM. A few unplayable files will be fixed later. Also has unused tracks from XIII/XIII-2 (sometimes with LR's annoyingly loud "battle encounter" subsong).
by ChillyBilly at 10:23 PM EDT on September 6, 2017
Here's something else I got for the Wii U:

Sonic Lost World + movie audio: Part 1 Part 2

^This rip is NEARLY complete. The only things missing are the Nightmare DLC tracks (the Yoshi and Zelda tracks are present and accounted for, though). I searched like a madman for that Nightmare data, but it was no good. And before anyone else points it out, yes, I'm well aware that the PC version has the Nightmare DLC included.... but I want to stay consistent here, y'know? If anyone else happens to have the Wii U Nightmare contents on them though, that would be most swell! ;)

Oh, and as for why the movie audio comes in separate downloads.... the demuxing process took so freaking long for me that I just went ahead and uploaded the main audio first, then uploaded the rest later in two separate chunks. But hey, minor complaints aside.... enjoy!
by Knurek at 12:37 AM EDT on September 7, 2017
@bnnm: there are two LR uploads, one 1.7 GB archive that is corrupted, the other extracts okay, but is only 900 MB in size.
Does the latter have all the data intact?
by banshiryuu at 2:18 AM EDT on September 7, 2017
Hey, what are the odds that I was just about to look back into Atelier Viorate after a year or two and there's posting here about it lol. The Viorate OST as part of Ayesha's set is nice quality, but for a number of songs the loops are different than the original game. Actually, they're different sometimes across PS2, PSP, and later games (at least, this was the case for Number One Daughter of Carrot Village)
by bnnm at 4:33 AM EDT on September 7, 2017
@Knurek - the 900 MB one is correct.
I uploaded the set but got "disconnected". Checking the directory listing I didn't see it, so I pressed "retry" and it seemed to work. BUT the uploaded file was 1.7 GB (I guess it "resumed" the disconnected upload), so I had to reupload (twice, as I had even more disconnects --in case you some more garbage).

EDIT: uploaded Baroque (PS1)

Is Child of Eden (X360) a native rip (and not converted from XWB)? I know it's a music-based game, and as I recall, the "series" is known for dynamically changing the music. I would think that XWB files would be easier to dynamically change between (since they're all part of the same file) than XMA, but there's certainly plenty of other ways to do it (I seem to recall a game that used MIDI for keeping track of timing within multiple streamed files, without necessarily having those streamed files all loaded/playing in memory). The files are XMA, which IIRC, is what most XWBs are split into. I don't know if there's an easy way to check this (other than to download/rip the game myself/yourself, and check the files).

While I'm asking, what about Mass Effect (X360)? The 7z file contains BMS scripts, "xma_parse.exe", and "xma_parse_rebuild.bat". I don't know if it's worth re-ripping (if it even needs it), but I saw those files, and I couldn't help but wonder. I also noticed that Mass Effect 2 (X360) also has some BMS scripts, EXEs, and BAT files as well (inside the "Kasumi - Stolen Memory" directory). Even Mass Effect 3 (X360) conains EXE files (though, considering how much they effect the overall file size, that's probably unimportant).

Then there's Fireaxis verus Firaxis. I haven't downloaded those yet (and they have different file sizes, and different file dates on the server), so I don't know which is "more correct".

And last(?) for now, is Star Ocean - The Last Hope (X360) versus http://x360.joshw.info/s/Star Ocean - The Last Hope [Star Ocean 4 - The Last Hope] (2009-02-19)(tri-Ace)(Square Enix).7z. The "short name" one is newer, but the "long name" one has files named to match the OST. It looks like the "long name" (and older) one is a conversion to XMA (from ACE, which is used in the newer "short name" rip). Comparing them by file size, it looks like the primary difference is the header for the ACE files is bigger (and contains a file name - ex: "SO4_BGM_64.wav" inside the header of "SO4_BGM_64.ace"). If I were to hazard a guess, I think you could probably rename the "short name" set's "SO4" files to the "long name" set's files, based on file size. I might do that myself, but I doubt my internet connection is reliable enough to upload anything (I average 1200ms pings, with 20%-25% loss in pings sent vs. received. :( ).

These were just some of the things I noticed as I've been downloading/updating various sets I've been wanting to add to my collection, that either weren't available last time I was here, or weren't playable with the version of VGMstream that was available at that time. Mouser X over and out.

edited 8:08 PM EDT September 7, 2017

Well, after about 30 minutes of edits, I've concluded that the "]" character in the 2nd Star Ocean link ("long name") is breaking the url tag I've been trying to use. I bolded the link (copy+paste the bold), because I can't figure out how to force the forum to properly parse the second "]" character. I suspect there *is* a way to get it to work right (it's almost certainly come up before now), but I couldn't figure it out. :(

@bnnm - Regarding your faulty first LR upload, according to the log you managed to get the server to start two SSH uploads at the same time. o.O; I guess the SSH upload was still in progress and your "retry" started a second one. Will look into preventing that.
by ChillyBilly at 9:30 PM EDT on September 7, 2017
Interesting coincidence that a Lightning Returns rip pops up, since I just recently got this done:

Final Fantasy XIII-2 (PS3)

^I think I got all the music.... I even looked through the DLC, and the only extra tune I found was the Gilgamesh battle theme (which I added, naturally). I tried demuxing the movies, but I got nothing from them, so... here you are. Maybe I'll look into the PS3 version of LR myself, if I get the chance....
by Basillica at 3:03 AM EDT on September 8, 2017
In its current state, the archive for The Silver Case Remaster is unplayable due to being in FSB format. Through a lot of effort and research, I have a full set of all the music and (probably) most of the sound effects, including the remixed music that was added in June.

The reason they can't be played as they are is because the timing information is missing (I think, it's been a while.) To bring them to a playable state, I used a Python script called python-fsb5 to reconstruct the OGG chunks that were encoded in the FSB files, so there aren't any reencoding losses.

I could upload them to Google Drive if anyone's interested.

Interesting note: There were some BIN files I found that were actually MIDIs extracted from the original game. They even work perfectly well with the SF2 files I created with VGMTrans.
by bnnm at 4:53 AM EDT on September 8, 2017
@Mouser X - Child of Eden is probably correct. Files have seek tables, which conversions tools would remove.
Mass Effects are conversions. As a rule, if the game's year is >2006, uses XMA1 and/or was uploaded in march/april 2015, there a 99% change it's transmogrified, missing loop points. Ogg conversions have a "ww2ogg" comment, but at least those are well done and handle loops.
"long name SO4" are not XMA, but exactly like "short name SO4" missing a part of the header. Only useful if you make a GENH or something.

@Basillica - those FSB play fine in the latest vgmstream.
I hope you can upload at least the remixed OST, preferably in the original FSBs.
by Basillica at 6:01 AM EDT on September 8, 2017
@bnnm
Oh, the problem was that I left one of the boxes unchecked. Works now.

Reripping the files is going to take a while, so in the meantime, here's another OST: CRAP! No One Loves Me (2015-09)(Arcane Kids) (PC)

Okay, I remembered that I actually used the unitypack Python script to extract the files because none of the other batch programs worked for me. I had to make a few changes so it would output raw FSB instead of OGG, but the filenames won't have the same structure as the ones in the existing archive. Would that be acceptable?

Time for goodies galore:

Android

Rockman Xover (One track, but two different file types!)

PC

An Oath to the Stars

Graceful Explosion Machine

HYPER DRIVE: The Insane Gravity Race

Lazer Cops

MagiCat

Necrosphere

A Robot Named Fight! (These were the only tunes I could find.... not sure if there's any more)

Senko no Ronde 2 (A bit of a hefty download (a little over 2GB unpacked), but it's worth it.... this soundtrack kicks ass. Also, I know the latest vgmstream updates makes splitting XWBs unnecessary, but I went and did it anyway)

West of Loathing

PS1

Lightning Legend: Daigo no Daibouken

Poy Poy 2

PS3

Tekken Tag Tournament 2 (Like with Tekken 6, there's several duplicate tracks here that I didn't have time to sort out.... my apologies)

Wii

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers (I recall someone else posting their own rip of this a year or two ago.... and while I downloaded it back then, I've since lost that set, sadly enough. Thus, I decided to go ahead and make my own rip instead!)

Enjoy!

I got help ripping Crystal Bearers back in 2012 (or earlier?), but it didn't receive support in VGMstream until Dragon Quest X came out. I wasn't able to upload it, so Sir-Sabin ripped, and uploaded it. More than once, I think. Thank you for uploading it again. Hopefully it ends up on JoshW's server this time! I have the thread open where the rip was requested (multiple threads, multiple times. Apparently by the same person?), in the hopes that it would remind me to upload it some time. Again, thanks for posting/uploading this set! I've listened to it (years ago), and was unimpressed. Nonetheless, knowing it's rippable (and has been ripped), had bugged me for quite some time.... Though, that can be said for *lots* of games I've ripped over the years (my internet connectivity has been poor/non-existent for years). Skylanders: Spyro' Adventure (though I can't recall if I ripped the PC version, or the Wii version [I have both]), any of the "MySims" games on the Wii, and a few others come to mind.

I just thought it was interesting that you'd post the FFCC:CB rip, when it had been on my mind so recently. Thanks again. Mouser X over and out.

Here are the extra songs I promised: The Silver Case Remaster (June Additions)
Genso Suikoden III? by RetroFanatic at 4:30 AM EDT on September 9, 2017
What's the reason this isn't available for download? I found some old threads and it seems itäs one of those games that uses an uncommon sound format/extension or whatever.

No one answered last time so I figured I should try asking again.
by Nisto at 6:44 AM EDT on September 9, 2017
Genso Suikoden 3 is at least partially (it's been a long time since I looked at it) sequenced. Same with GS4. I did try ripping GS4 with the use of the Silent Hill 2 and Winning Eleven 5 drivers, since they use similar formats, but unfortunately wasn't able to get it playing. Maybe in the future I'll rip GS3 at least, if no one else has by that time, since there seems to be a demand for that at least.

@banshiryuu Yeah its a bummer Viorate isn't playable. If you'd or anyone else wants to look into it, I uploaded a few samples from the game. It's probably doing something Foobar/Winamp plugins don't like I'd imagine. I would really like that game to be playable so I can fully rip it.

Got some more Gust games ripped.

PS1

Welcome House 2 (1996-12-20) (Gust)
Meru Purana (1996-6-21) (Gust)
Falcata - Astran Pardma no Monshou (1995-06-23)(Gust) - Added all the missing streams.
The Adventures of Robin Lloyd (2000-1-6) (Gust) - Sadly, this is missing some songs. I have no idea where they would be, sorry!

PS2

Atelier Iris - Eternal Mana [Iris no Atelier - Eternal Mana] (2004-05-27)(Gust) - Properly timed and tagged now.
Atelier Iris 2 - The Azoth of Destiny [Iris no Atelier - Eternal Mana 2] (2005-05-26)(Gust) - Properly timed and tagged now.
Hermina to Culus - Lilie no Atelier Mou Hitotsu no Monogatari (2001-12-20) (Gust) - Properly timed and tagged now.
Jet Ion Grand Prix (2002-03-22) (Ubisoft) - The .ADS files here don't loop for some reason. I assume they are handled by the game's executable somewhere. I might come back to this a take a look sometime. This game also go's by the name, Hresvelgr.
Taishou Mononoke Ibunroku (2003-02-27)(-)(Gust) - Did a full re-rip and tagged the set since it was missing a lot of tracks.

I think that's all of the PS2 Atelier games that can be ripped now. The rest I think are already fully complete.

@Mouser X: Yeah, I do recall it being Sir-Sabin who posted that previous Crystal Bearers link. I personally enjoyed the music, but as I said before, I unfortunately lost it somehow... hence me taking matters to my own hands and ripping it again myself. I also see it's been mirrored already, so we shouldn't have to worry about losing this rip again anytime soon! :)

That being said.... tonight I figured I'd post a little PC Mega Man X-travaganza (along with a couple additions):

PC

Mega Man X4

Mega Man X5

Mega Man X7 (Technically Rockman X7 since the PC version is apparently Korean-exclusive, but.... eh, whatever)

Mega Man X8

Guardian

PS1

Ultraman: Fighting Evolution

X: Unmei no Sentaku (Pretty rockin' soundtrack, this one.... reminds me a little of the Guilty Gear series)

^I left the file extensions for a couple of those MMX games intact (.se, .dat, etc.), but I wholeheartedly assure you that they play just fine if you simply change them to .wav. And as for why X6 isn't included among those rips.... well, I actually did rip it, but I couldn't get anything playable out of it, unfortunately. The music comes in a big .XA file, but I think it's encrypted or something. Here it is for anyone who wants to check it out themselves. Maybe you guys can figure something out. Interestingly, it seems the PC version of X6 is also exclusive to Korean/Asian territories... not sure if that has anything to do with my rip issue, though (especially since X7 worked just fine for me). All that aside, enjoy!

@bnnm
Thanks for looking at those for me. I probably mixed up Child of Eden with a different rip, I guess. Good to know it looks good (I liked the music too, but for the proper "effect", I think I'd need to merge some of the XMA files. The OST [if there is one] would probably be better).

Too bad about Mass Effect (1). I have the PC rip as well (it's OGG). I haven't listened to it yet. Hopefully it has proper loop points (to be fair, I haven't listened to the X360 rip yet either, so for all I know it's just fine).

Huh. If the Star Ocean 4 files aren't XMA, and aren't ACE (neither of them play in Winamp or FB2k), I wonder how they were named to match the OST. I doubt it was done blindly.... I haven't tried to create a GENH before (I understand the basic principle/mechanics), so I have no idea if perhaps it was done that way. If so, though, then why aren't they GENH files in the archives? Would GENH be the way to go with these (is there enough info in the ACE header?) files? Or should "ACE" be implemented natively (I don't know if there's already an ACE implementation, and if there is, if it'd be "compatible" to SO4's usage. Really, I'm of no useful help on that one).

Regardless, thanks again for looking into it.

@ChillyBilly
Well, since I *did* rip it myself, I had the ISO. Perhaps my attempted play through effected my opinion of the music. To be fair, I didn't play much (so much to do, so little time), so maybe I just didn't "get" it. Thanks nonetheless. And double thanks for the MMX music. While I haven't played much of that series (I'm terrible at 2D side scrollers), I have always enjoyed MM music. Thanks again. Mouser X over and out.

I've uploaded a couple of rips I had lying around for a while.

NDS:
Bird & Beans / Pyoro

PC:
CRAP! No One Loves Me

I'd also upload The Silver Case Remaster if I figure out a good way to separate the songs that were added in the June update from the rest of them.
by bnnm at 3:11 PM EDT on September 11, 2017
Uploaded:
- Enchanted Arms X360 (bms)

***

@Basillica - thanks!

@Mouser X - "short name" .ACE work in the latest vgmstream.
"long name" SO4 was converted to real .xma back in the day then renamed, to use with MS's tools since XMA in vgsmtream is recent, but I guess they uploaded the base files instead.
So the old rip isn't very useful now, but you can make GENHs or unzip this file in the folder to play them.
by Mouser X at 1:12 AM EDT on September 12, 2017
Thanks for the clarification. Apparently, my VGMstream for FB2k was out of date (they're playing in FB2k now). Winamp's problem is a plugin compatibility mismatch. :( I use "in_zip.dll" to play music from archived files (it supports ZIP, 7zip, and others), and apparently ACE is a format that in_zip takes, instead of VGMstream. To the best of my knowledge, there's no easy way to "force" Winamp (or a plugin) to take preferred treatment over a different plugin.

And, just for to be thorough, I verified I had the most recent version of VGMstream. I also looked for a newer in_zip, but the author (DrO) has taken his plugins offline. I've attempted to rename VGMstream, in an attempt to get Winamp to load it first and therefore, maybe, have VGMstream handle the ACE files instead, but no luck.

Obviously this isn't your problem, and it's not something that VGMstream can, or even should, fix (it's an in_zip problem, obviously). But, since I'm talking about incompatibilities, I might as well mention that the subsong support that VGMstream uses (aka, "creating" fake *.vgmstream files by spoofing the playlist) doesn't work with in_zip either. But that's entirely expected, as in_zip is completely unable to handle that special case of file/playlist handling. I only mention this, in the unlikely event that someone else is using in_zip, and is trying to figure out why XWB files aren't working (or in the unlikely event that DrO still shows up here every so often ;P ).

So, last thing - is it possible there might be a file extension I can rename these ACE files to, that VGMstream would still recognize, and handle properly? If there is, I'd be extremely surprised. At this point, I very strongly suspect that my best option is to create GENH files from these ACE files, but even that's a stretch, as ACE has to be within the "supported" GENH handling (if I understand GENH properly). That, or use the "long name" XMA files, to create GENH files. Or, I suppose I could convert everything to ADX/LOGG files using "test.exe". :/

Lucky me and my wonky Winamp install (DrO often commented about how much he "loved" working with me, as I'd frequently, accidentally, uncover previously undiscovered bugs and bad behavior in Winamp, and its/his plugins).

Anyway, thanks for the support, regardless. Mouser X over and out.
by bnnm at 11:10 AM EDT on September 12, 2017
You can rename the .ace to .laac and they should work (the original ext are .aac but that's a common ext so both .ace and .laac were added as a compromise)
by Basillica at 12:52 PM EDT on September 12, 2017
I've finally gotten around to uploading it.

PC:
Silver Case, The (Includes the songs that were added in the 2017-06 update.)

@bnnm
Awesome, thanks! Yah, apparently ACE is a compression format on other systems. I think it might be an old Mac one, or something. Its author (DrO)is still extremely active in the Winamp community, but he's busy with a different Winamp-related project, so his plugins don't get updated anymore. I'll mention it to him though, and see if he can implement a fix that allows the user to specify what extensions his plugin is allowed to handle. Mouser X over and out.

Would it be okay if I uploaded a rip of the PlayStation version of the Earthworm Jim 2 soundtrack? The songs in the Saturn rip are encoded as MP3s, so I'm wondering if it would be okay to upload it as a FLAC.
by datschge at 6:17 AM EDT on September 19, 2017
@Basillica - Sure, feel free to contribute any CDDA as FLAC. The existing MP3 encodings only exist due to past space restrictions that no longer apply, so the more of them are replaced with FLAC versions the better.

by Knurek at 12:14 PM EDT on September 19, 2017
I'd personally recommend APE for any lossless rips, especially ones where the source files are WAVE, not CD-DA.
IIRC FLAC strips RIFF headers, whereas APE preserves them.
by birdmanager6 at 12:24 PM EDT on September 19, 2017
I have the actual WAVs (with RED extension) extracted from the CD BIN/CUE image with CDMage.
by datschge at 12:36 PM EDT on September 19, 2017
FLAC can also include RIFF chunks, using the CLI tool add --keep-foreign-metadata while encoding or decoding.

Actually of all the common lossless audio codecs only ALAC, WMAL and TTA don't appear to support RIFF chunks.

Do they have to be separate files, or is a single file+CUE acceptable?
by Mouser X at 11:28 PM EDT on September 19, 2017
I for one prefer separate files. Last time I downloaded one that was a single file, I had to manually cut it apart (I probably had outdated tools, but considering how little I've updated since then, I most likely still have outdated tools, and I really don't want to have to manually cut it apart again).

It's possible that Winamp can handle that properly (it's what I've been using for years, but since I avoid downloading one-file-CDDA, I don't know if that's been updated, or works). I do have FB2k installed, and I suppose it's likely that it's supported there, but I pretty much only use FB2k when I can't get Winamp to work (though, I did recently discover that, when converting to the SPEEX format, FB2k is wonderful!).

But I'm one person, and I didn't do the rip. I just figured I'd voice my preference, since you asked it as a general question. Mouser X over and out.
by marcusss at 11:41 PM EDT on September 19, 2017
I always prefer songs separate as well.
by Basillica at 5:01 AM EDT on September 20, 2017
Some new uploads in the queue:

Sega CD
Earthworm Jim: Special Edition

PS1
Earthworm Jim 2

CD-i
Tetris

I'll also upload the music for the other well-known CD-i games as soon as I can use my Windows PC for vgmtoolbox and test some options to see if they'll fix the issues I'm having.

If worst comes to worst, I'll try to edit jPSXdec's source code to add an option to save assets as raw files, as the issues are absent there.

(Yes, the Earthworm Jim rips are separate files, just because I had to rerip them due to the fact that the first time I ripped them, I probably just converted the disk images to WAVs using Audacity and removed the data tracks, though I'm not too sure.)

I'm thinking what should I do with the CD-i rip for now.
Makes no sense to bother Josh with setting up DNS just for a single set.
So, yeah, basically, upload a few more sets for the system and we'll see how that works out. If there's not enough of them, I can always put them in Hoot folder, as I did with Arcade VGM logs.

by Nisto at 6:32 AM EDT on September 30, 2017
The .dat extension is generic. It's just short for "data" really. It's better if you upload some example files.

I downloaded the Sonic 2 HD demo that came out today and wanted to extract the music.

This is the file that apparently contains the data:

So the game Cuphead on pc is using the unity engine and the data are stored in a resS file but i couldn't figure out how to extract the music even using quick bms or Assets Build Extractor doesn't work. Can someone look at one of those resS file please ? Thank you ^^ [Cuphead] sharedassets41.assets

BTW the actual file size is 1.21 GB

I guess i could take a look or download it
But did you try "open folder" or was it "load folder" with unity studio and load the whole game folder??

Normally works on unity games. Extracting is fine except some games use non standard files which crash the program when you try to extract them..usually video with audio like OGV (theora vid with ogg audio) in which you should use vgmtoolbox to scan for ogg as most video is ogg from what i have seen.. If you are lucky some games just have the music in the streamed folde

I use this : AssetsBundleExtractor_1.8b_64bit
And the only option was "open" not "open folder" or "load folder"
And it crashes after i tried to open it.

As I said, here's a few more uploads:

PC

Burst Fighter

River City Melee: Battle Royal Special

The Walking Vegetables

PS1

Chou Aniki: Kyuukyoku Muteki Ginga Saikyou Otoko

PS2

Chou Aniki: Seinaru Protein Densetsu

Maximo: Ghosts to Glory

Maximo vs. Army of Zin

^Honestly, despite posting those Maximo rips, I'm unable to play those .vgm files..... I feel pretty certain they're streamed audio, though (the file sizes certainly don't indicate they're sequenced). Maybe someone else knows how to get them to play (maybe bnnm, if you're reading this)? Or do I have to go the GENH route here? Either way, that's all I have for now. Enjoy!

@Vector Harbot: In addition to the Unity Studio that marcusss mentioned, another tool I highly recommend would be UnityEX. Just discovered this one a couple months back myself, and I found it extremely useful! And as far as looping FSB5 files go, I've seen very few rips in that format that loop, unfortunately.... I guess there's no support for that yet, I dunno. Hope that helps! :)

Uploads:
- Dante's Inferno (X360)
- Terraria (PC/X360) [didn't split, feel free to]

***

@ChillyBilly - Maximo is headerless (2ch, 4800hz) but you'll need GENH/TXTH per file because the interleave varies around (ex. 6300, 63c0, 6400...).
Usually you can open in hex editor and find where the first 0x10 bytes repeat after ~0x5000 to find the interleave.

@marcusss - Aladdin ASF I think is custom ADPCM, similar to Croc 2
by marcusss at 6:50 AM EDT on October 1, 2017
@bnnm, Yeah I know as it looks the same as croc They included an asfcodec file (asfcodec.adl) in the music folder I uploaded but doubt it will help decoding the music hey? I saw someone else upload another Argonaut game today so probably the same.
