So, since we're getting some PS4 rips, would all games be rippable? Cause I would kill to see a FFXV rip sometime.
by Ultrafighter at 5:27 AM EST on January 9, 2018
@Bnnm: when I was talking about low quality of PS3 audio I was mostly implying XMA-MP3 or even XMA-MP2 pairs where *.mp3 or *.mp2 files had much lower bitrates and sounded worse. This can be said about numerous multiplatform VGs (not necessarily based on UE3) of both Western (many Activision or THQ franchises) and Eastern origin (Lollipop chainsaw & Shadows of the damned to name a few).

@Bxaimc: thanks for these PS4 sets, we'll need as many of them as we can get so that brand new PSF4 section isn't deserted; keep it up and good luck in ripping this platform (although codecs used there are mostly well-known ones I presume)!

Later!

something is bunging me about the Resident Evil Archives - Resident Evil and Resident Evil Archives - Resident Evil Zero. they seem to run pretty fast when I play a few tracks yet is there a way to slow them down to play normal?
by bxaimc at 11:13 AM EST on January 9, 2018
@Mygoshi, yea I noticed the same thing when I was ripping it. I fixed a tiny bug (interleave size) so the fix should appear on the next vgmstream release.

@mariofan12ify, not yet. Still waiting to see if bnnm can fix the SCD bug in vgmstream. Once that's done, I can go back and sort out the banks. I'll let you know when you can redownload the set.

@bxaimc - Cool, thanks. Looking forward to it.
NOTICE by bxaimc at 1:33 AM EST on January 11, 2018
NOTE: I won't be able to release Street Fighter V (PS4) due to a couple of reasons:

1. There isn't a proper extractor for the ACB/AWBs.
2. Every song has 6 mono hca files to it that play at the same time in-game to create a surround sound effect.
3. Because there's no proper extractor, VGMToolbox, for example, will name one of the files something like AC_BGM_CHARASELE.hca, based on the internal names, but will leave the rest of the 5 streams like BGM_CHARA_SELECT.acb.0000x.hca when all of them should have the same base name, at least something like AC_BGM_CHARASELE_x.hca per file. I suspect this issue is similar to the one we had with Sonic Forces where all the names are messed up. I think some files are supposed to have same name (like some of the speedup tracks) and VGMToolbox doesn't recognize it like that and then hands of the next name in the table instead of doing a blah_1 and blah_2 file combination.
4. I want to hold off for a bit to perhaps find a solution to have all 6 streams play at the same time via a generic container format, similar to GENH or some other hacky way. Maybe that way if its accomplished, I can finally release Street Fighter x Tekken also.

Thanks ahead of time for understanding! =3

I hope you consider adding unsupported sets maybe with some kind of tag or 'zzz_unsupported' folder.
Just having them easily accesible is useful for devving, plus a lot more motivating to add support/fix as they are immediatedly available for all, plus you can see how many sets are fixed with one feature.

I want to do some kind of codec/layout that plays codec in multistreams/layers/multisongs (like current AAX/AIX but more standard) as some formats use them, then it could be added to GENH/TXTH, but it's complex stuff so it'll take me a while to think about a good way to implement.
In SF5 maybe they are played directly with the .ACB cues though.
by Ultrafighter at 4:01 PM EST on January 11, 2018
Here's my newest set: GREED - Black Border (PC)(2010-01-13)(ClockStone Software)(Meridian4). It's a streamed rip of an old yet nice RPG game and its score is pretty short but neatly done and even diverse to an extent. Check it out! I especially recommend sequences~credits, greed_chapter1_track3 & greed_menu.

@Bxaimc: are CD-Audio \ Redbook Audio rips in PCM WAV format allowed here or do I absolutely have to compress those to FLAC, APE, etc. if I want them to be archived at JoshW? Also are CUE & LOG files required in such packages or may I leave them out (I guess those wouldn't be of much use in case individual track names or even composer are unknown; maybe that'll be the case with SuperCross Circuit, Quarantine 2 and a few other antique VGs I'm intending to rerip and post here)?

Best regards!

@bnnm - interesting ideas, maybe I should upload SFV and SFxT in an as-is state into a seperate folder. That way either we or some one else can figure out what the best solution may be for them.

@Ultrafighter - compressing to flac was for the days we were limited in bandwidth, not so much a problem now. No need for CUE or LOG for individual tracks.

Alright, here's my very first lossless rip made with EAC (I dumped CD-Audio a few times in the past but using Foobar2k): Prototype (PC)(1995)(neo Software Produktions, Surprise! Productions)(Max Design). Of course these *.cue + *.log files may be deleted if they're not actually needed (I ended up renaming tracks anyway and adding some more tags to them).

Music in this old side-scrolling title is truly rocking and even rememberable so give it a try; I consider this soundtrack an undeservedly forgotten gem and goodness that's pitifully unknown to most VGM lovers. Lossy encodes of it are relatively easy to find but with my fresh rerip there's all more reason to check this score out in HQ!

Cheers!

Anyone's planning to do FF XII PC?
by marcusss at 6:36 PM EST on January 11, 2018
Thanks for your rips Ultrafighter
by Ultrafighter at 7:55 PM EST on January 11, 2018
@Marcusss: Hi, I'm glad you're still around and maybe even planning to return from ripping vacation (once again)! It's also cool to know you're interested in my sets or probably even liked some of them: isn't it feedback that makes at least half of pleasure given by exploring VGM oceans and sharing the best discoveries?

BTW I'm going to rip a few titles I mentioned here earlier and they might surface ITT very soon, be it "modern" ones (like that 8-year old arcade named "Madballs in Babo") or pretty old games using CDA/RBA. That's why you should really come back here from time to time as I'm always happy to see you!

Another lossless rerip: SuperCross Circuit (PS1)(1999-10-31)(Idol Minds)(989 Sports). Strangely enough audio tracks were separate files from the beginning so that I just had to GENH 'em... I mean make a TXTH file. It might be quite barebone so further tweaking isn't prohibited but of course it's optional. Nonetheless you can be sure that my .bin.txth works (with XMPlay that is).

All the best!
by kode54 at 7:56 PM EST on January 11, 2018
I'll do it if I can rip any content out of it. Remember, it's going to be Denuvo protected, so the user files may well be encrypted.
by bxaimc at 9:48 PM EST on January 11, 2018
Should be possible since Sonic Mania used denuvo and that ended up being ripped.
by marcusss at 10:43 PM EST on January 11, 2018
Does someone have the Crypt of the Necrodancer v 233 Vita dump as it has the dlc which the cuerrent rip doesn't contain? I can get it myself but thought I'd ask if Knurek or somebody else already has it :-)

Good to see the PS4 rips slowly trickling down into this forum ;-)

Also yes Ultrafighter, I look forward to your rips and it does help one's enthusiasm when people request and/or give feedback on rips.

I am sure we are all curious about the latest VITA and PS4 rips but won't forget the many existing undumped rips as well on existing platforms. I hope to find time to add some more of my rips as well.

Cheers!

My first official rip:
Mario Party 9 (2012-03-02)(NdCUBE)(Nintendo)

I'm also uploading it to the archives, so hopefully that will be approved when it's done.
by Ultrafighter at 7:15 AM EST on January 12, 2018
2 more gamerips:
Madballs in Babo - Invasion (PC)(2009-09-17)(Playbrains)(Playbrains) features electronic, ethnic, orchestral and even rock tracks while being easy-listen & somewhat catchy score;

Road Warrior [Quarantine II - Road Warrior] (PC)(1996)(GameTek)(Mindscape). Now this one is quite special but it doesn't mean it's actually bad. Most tracks are pretty lo-fi here but supposedly composer's original intention was to achieve this kind of sound for those select tracks (keep in mind that a few compositions sound crystal clear which further proves my theory).

Also apparently all ISO dumps of this VG on the Net are the same or were made using pretty old CD which was in use for quite some time. This means that some tracks have scratches and clicks in them (for example Track 13 has 'em in the middle & Track 14 has so many of them that it's tiresome). Anyway it's up to our mod to decide whether this release of mine truly deserves to be added to VGM Archives... There's no Quarantine 2 rip ATM (or even the 1st one for PC) but maybe we should wait for some different, better disc image? Whatever...

Goodbye!

Got a few goodies to share:

PC

Dad Beat Dads

Heart&Slash

Molemen Must Die!

Vulture Strike

Warlock's Tower

PS3

Invincible Knight

Rocket Knight (The sound all originally came in these .SND files that turned out to be containers for FSB archives, which I extracted (and left unsplit). However, I included the original source files since I know folks like bnnm would prefer to have them on hand in case there's a way to make them playable)

Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3

^Hmm... curiously, both Invincible Knight and Commando 3's music don't loop for me despite being in .msf files..... eh, whatever. Anyway, that's it for now!

And BTW.... since it seems PS4 rips are a thing now, is it possible to nab the 2016 remake of Ratchet & Clank 1? Just curious!

It's this time... again! Prepare to snatch some more goodies!

Kawasaki Fantasy Motocross (PC)(2001-03-29)(Canopy)(Nitro): a tiny cool soundtrack with a song or two and even a few stingers as well as a track from some video (I was quite surprised to find those among CD-Audio). Music genre is mostly instrumental rock with ethnic influences thrown in the mix here and there.

Merchants of Brooklyn [Drug Wars] (PC)(2009-03-17)(Paleo)(Paleo): I found out this videogame existed when a VGM Legacy member posted a rip in his thread (probably shortly after it was released in '09) and finally I've made my own one! I thought it's gonna be 85-90% obscure and forgettable rock score but it turned out there's much more to it than that (like dance or atmospheric compositions) so you're safe to grab this release of mine too even if you've never ever heard of this title.
Audio from comics was included too. Beware of numerous F-bombs in comic #4 though!

Bruce Lee - Quest of the Dragon (Xbox)(2002-07-01)(Ronin)(Universal): I originally ripped this one almost a decade ago for a GameMusicHall forum (nonexistent for many years now) user who later became my FFS buddy but obviously I didn't save complete streamed version of the set (and of course I transcoded ADPCM & Bink files to Vorbis q4.0 or something). Fresh rerip contains both BGMs (and a few ambiences I deemed worthy of addition) and demuxed audio from videos (6 stereo tracks per file, the 1st two have English voiceovers in different quality while remaining 4 are translated to four other main European languages). On multiple occasions you can even encounter clean music in those movie tracks (sometimes there's no speech at all and it means that channels #2-6 are the same), there're 18 such *.bik files in total.
Baddy quotes & protagonist taunts are simply hilarious here so check 'em out! Even a few select screenshots perfectly translate that "so bad it's good" vibe of the game so try them out too if want to have a good laugh.
Anyway score isn't utter garbage either although one may consider them being sound wallpapers which immediately disappear from memory. Well I actually liked Ms01_20=Ms03_20=Ms20_20.lwav & especially Ms12_20.lwav despite the fact they're quite chintzy... What about you?

I was also planning to add great lossless scores from Suzuki Alstare extreme racing & Redline racer to Archives but apparently there's quite a hitch this time. EAC is seemingly unable to detect gaps in this case and append them to the next track (this solution worked for Prototype but not with these VGs unfortunately).
Final result is that most compositions (starting with the 2nd one and ending with penultimate) in Suzuki game end with a split-second snippet from the next track which isn't good at all. Resulting WAVs from Redline racer have 1-2 secs (!) from the next track in them which is way worse.
That's why I dunno if I'll provide any decent version soon. If you think this isn't a CD issue (or maybe music tracks were supposed to be this way, can it be some ancient precache/prefetch solution?) and have any proposals I'll be very happy to hear them.

Bye!

Edit
@ChillyBilly: I'm wondering what *.spr are for in "Wolf of the battlefield" set... Are they original archives *.msf files were extracted from or some unplayable/undemuxable tracks/vids?

Can you please rip Splinter Cell games ? (especially Double Agent) ? I ripped all the platforms but your rips are better in term of organization etc.
by ChillyBilly at 10:13 AM EST on January 13, 2018
@Ultrafighter: Oh yeah, nearly forgot to mention those .spr files! They were in a separate folder from the MSFs. I'm guessing they might be SFX/cutscene audio or something. However, checking out the files through hex, they don't seem to have proper headers, but I included them anyway for the heck of it. Again, perhaps someone around here like bnnm could figure them out or something.

@bxaimc: Sure, no problem. I just wanted to be certain what those files contained, is all. And @bnnm, so that was the case with those msfs, huh? I assume the same applies to Invincible Knight, then? If so, I guess it can't be helped, then (and no, the sound folders didn't have any other files aside from the msfs for both games). Thanks for letting me know!

@bx: Mario Party 9 is a rar file with 7z extension on server, will not extract for non-tech savvy folks.
by mariofan12ify at 1:07 AM EST on January 14, 2018
@Knurek - Wait, does it have to be a 7z file?
by Knurek at 1:18 AM EST on January 14, 2018
@mariofan12ify: Doesn't have to, but I've been repacking everything in other archive formats for consistency's sake.
What it can't be is a RAR archive with .7z extension. :)
by mariofan12ify at 1:30 AM EST on January 14, 2018
So if I make a .zip file of MP9 and rename that extension to 7z, will that work? Or do I have to make a 7z file? Cause I don't really know how to.

EDIT: Never mind, I just installed 7-Zip so it's much easier. I'll reupload Mario Party 9 and Mario & Sonic to MEGA in 7z format so it can be added to the archives.

Anyhow looking forward to the ps4 releases and wonder if the ps4 ver. Of games would have better quality audio than vita. Im sure the atrac9 bitrate is possibly higher than vita.. so games like crypt of the necrodancer and many more should sound superior hopefully unless the lazy guys use the same audio..

@Mygoshi: Frankly saying I'm uninterested in ripping any Splinter cell installments myself. Nonetheless I'd really welcome rerips of the first 2 games in the series (but maybe I'll lose any interest altogether after I find out that Pandora tomorrow & original SC use the same irritating segmenting as Chaos theory).
Conviction was the only one out of 6 installments which I really liked (I mean its music of course) but apparently I'm also lazy to rip remaining platforms of it (it's Mac & numerous mobile systems, correct?). Maybe you should ask Marcusss who's our main supplier of such sets?

And the last thing: my organization of files in packages isn't entirely proprietary you know, I simply took Timo's renaming procedures, tweaked them a bit and applied 'em to my rips.

@BX: I demux vids with VGMToolBox wherever possible but for AVIs I have to use VirtualDub. Demultiplexing WMVs is quite an issue now too since WMV9 Series stopped working for me after I migrated to Win7 (was it 5 or 6 years ago?). I managed to demux that single video from Greed - Black border with VGMTB though, it outputted *.WMA.RAW file but none of those extensions worked. I found out it's a playable MP3 only with help of XMPlay as it's not too picky when it comes to extensions and will play anything supported no matter the extension.
Actually it all depends of the VG title and movie format there, I can give you any details about my ripping methods if you're more specific about what game sets of mine have any questionable data in them.

Not only I can use Zippyshare & Google drive since I have accounts there I'm even able to up archives to MEGA JFYI. Do you prefer any hosting site above all else? Truth be said I use Sendspace for fast DLs with pretty limited storage time, maybe my info is obsolete and that file host isn't so good anymore... Still way better than Mediafire I guess?
Or would the best way be simply uploading via contribution form at vgm.hcs64.com? It's all up to you actually.

And if you're wondering where 2 (apparently missing) tracks from Castrol Honda are here's the answer: they were a few minutes of ambience which I excluded from my music rip without a second thought. It's all right I think (as well as lack of CUE/LOG pair)... Or is it?

Later!

Rip requests by threeblacknoises at 10:00 AM EST on January 14, 2018
Okay, I'm not usually one to make rip requests, as I'm usually late to the party and someone else has already requested them, but could someone please rip kingdom hearts 2.8 at some point.
I'm not sure when a soundtrack release for birth by sleep 0.2 and x unchained is coming; if at all; maybe on the kh3 ost?
Until then, I think the game music is probably higher quality than any youtube rip out their.
I personally already own the dreamdrop distance ost, but people are going to want a complete rip anyway.
Speaking of kingdom hearts, I've tagged the 1.5rip if anyone's interested.
Will also tag 2.5 if someone does it.
Not sure if ps4 version is better than ps3... Probably not...

@Ultrafighter: I have a couple of issues with Breakdown (Xbox)(2004-03-16)(Namco Limited)(Namco Hometek):

-Please don't leave dupes in there, especially a folder named 'dupes' with the dupes already sorted. Get rid of it next time, please.

-Please don't partially tag some files. For example: ds_bg7130=ds_bg9030 - Battle With Solus. Solus- The Final Showdown (Part 1).lwav with the rest looking like ds_bg7120.lwav

-Also, if it's plain WAV with no loop data, you don't have to use the .lwav extention. Just leave it .wav, k?

-Lastly, what's up with the split channel movie audio tracks?

Just a couple of things, no biggie.
Please don't rush any uploads, we're not going anywhere =3

1 other Vita game I am ripping uses the annoying bitsquid engine so will take some time.

@BX: Regarding Breakdown:
1) I wan't keen on leaving that load of duplicates in final package too, I was simply lazy to rename them all by hand (like I did with ds_bg7130=ds_bg9030 & ds_bg8050=ds_bg9069) but I supposed that someone might be interested in alternate names for files located in root folder. Personally I don't see real need in that (with all WAV filenames being ds_bg#.*wav which isn't descriptive at all) but I figured out it'd never hurt to secure such an option for a theoretical end user of my set;

2) OK, next time I'll either tag each track or not a single one at all. I just wanted to point out a few favorites of mine (alas, there's so little of such VGM in the score, I was hoping for much more) for someone who's never tried out GH/KH DLs rips (backed up on Galbadia Hotel & KHinsider sites).

3) I'll keep it in mind although it gotta be bothersome to sort out loopable from unloopable waves. When dealing with XBox *.wav files which are in truth ADPCM I typically do this: mass-rename 'em all to *.lwav just in case there're actually loopable ones (although I rarely use looping in VGMstream myself if at all) to preserve such traits and change extensions of any streams which produce loud static to *.xwav (there're very few such tracks in Breakdown as you can see, they were initially identified as AudioKinetic WWise 4-bit ADPCM). My guess is that I can skip step #1 in future and jump straight to XWAVs (if given loop data in recognized in *.xwav streams just as well as in *.lwav ones)...
EDIT: Of should I aim for Winamp/XMPlay playback before all? I believe those 2 would play such files without any extension change, they're not nearly as picky as FB2k is.

4) This is how VGMT demuxed those XMVs and there's no "split tracks" option to uncheck as with BIKs. I was also expecting 3 stereo valid GENHs to be outputted (just like "Shadow ops" credits track was processed) but we got what we've got there. I'm still keeping all given *.xmv files on HDD though, if it doesn't take Snakemeat too long to fix Breakdown XMV demultiplexing I will redo those vids and back them up here.

BTW for one X360 FSB XMA2 rip I'm gonna add: should I include original *.fsb bank, 1-track FSBs I got using FSBii or both? I only tested very few tracks from initial FMOD bank but presumably all individual streams should work, I listened only to FSBii output actually since I don't like those insane bitrates (for example 470726 kbps in a 3-sec. stinger while it should be 141 kbps). So which option I gotta pick if I want my set to be archived on JoshW?

Ciao!

PS. Anyone knows of any ways to deal with XBLA VGs which are not a single file without extension? What I have at hand is this:

445407D9\00007000\F08939922917E9E97ADD.data\Data0007    135 819 264

I was expecting Crash time 4 to be as easily rippable as CT3 but I'm stuck at getting file structure ATM.
So if you can recommend me some alternative to wxPirs that's gonna work in this case don't hesitate to post here (or in a more appropriate thread if you like)! Bye!

vgmtoolbox is useless beyond ISO stuff anyway. I only use it for PS2 DVD-9 games, CPK archives(alongside other CRI formats such as .acb/.awb, etc.), "demuxing"... and nothing else.

No, really, just think about it. snakemeat has been quite inactive for some time now and even with the latest version the tool itself is slowly becoming more and more obsolete as time goes on, which is sad because I wanted to see more features out of this tool. Imagine yourself extracting an (untrimmed) Xbox ISO through that tool without breaking down. Holy shit that'd be bonkers.

@AnonRunzes: I also use VGMTB for very few specific tasks like console ISO browsing / individual file extraction & demuxing videos but regarding advanced cutter jobs it sometimes comes in handy too (for example it helped me immensely with Indiana Jones and the emperor's tomb PS2 SFX because ADPCM Player & QuickBMS with generic splitter BMS didn't do the job as good as they should have).
Maybe I simply got used to it over the years but I've never been anyhow embarrassed by it: dumping select files outta ISOs might be a long and bothersome task but one can always extract whole folders and do the sorting with a file manager later on; I also don't quite like that solution of developer when some (or most) actions are heavily relied on drag-and-dropping, especially when it comes to pretty small boxes for input files - I'd prefer "add file/folder" button but w-e.

The biggest complaint I can think of is lack of XBLA/PSN file systems support (shouldn't demand for such platforms be really high? why should be still utilize 3rd party tools when there's such a great & promising ripping combine as VGMT?) along with some other popular movie formats missing from demuxer list (at least WMV & AVI should be fixed/added already, maybe also Theora/OGM/OGG Video). That's about it I guess...

@Bxaimc: what should I do with my original FSB holding multiple XMA streams - upload it unchanged or am I allowed to add individual track FSBs to my set (possibly including initial bank as well in case someone prefers the latter)?
Actually this bank is just 188 MBs, I suppose it'd not be a waste of space even if I upped both: with storage capacities today filesizes aren't an issue anymore! Am I thinking in the right vein?

Till next time!

Sorry, got a bit out of hand..

You can try converting them to wav. But if you want to maintain a lossless experience, you can transcode them to individual bfstms using furrybob's VGAudio tool
by mariofan12ify at 3:07 AM EST on January 16, 2018
I've tried to use that, but I honestly have no idea how to.

@mygoshi: I meant data lossless, retaining loop points and such. I know what I’m talking about bro =3

@mariofan12ify: You could also try using vgmstream’s test.exe command line tool.

by MoldyPond at 9:46 AM EST on January 16, 2018
So now that this gloriousness has finally been made public, does that mean there's no sense in waiting for the CD, or just because the files are 48000KHz does it not mean they're the highest quality?
by bxaimc at 9:57 AM EST on January 16, 2018
Depends. CD will always be higher quality if the rip uses a compression scheme, in this case DSP ADPCM, whereas CDs are PCM. Sure it’s 44k, but it’s totally lossless.
by Mygoshi at 11:27 AM EST on January 16, 2018
@bxaimc : Don't need to be rude, I didn't know you were talking about loop points...
Thank you very much for the rips :)
by Vector Harbor at 11:29 AM EST on January 16, 2018
@mariofan12ify

Basically download this archive and drag & drop one by one, it will be converted into .wav

https://www.hcs64.com/vgmstream.html
by Mygoshi at 11:34 AM EST on January 16, 2018
@mariofan12ify

Download test from the last version of VGMStream. Place them in the same folder as the SM Odyssey BFWAVs/BFSTMs. Open a notepad, write :
for %%a in (*.bfwav) do test -o "%%a".wav %%a
Save the file as test.bat and select "all types".
Launch it. All the BFWAVs are going to be converted to WAV. Redo it but with (*.bfstm) and it'll do the same thing.
by bxaimc at 11:35 AM EST on January 16, 2018
The problem is even after you convert to wav, you won’t be able to play it straight out of the box. You’ll probably need to open it in audacity or similar and mute the tracks individually. Also, VGAudio and vgmstream’s test.exe has switches to select the range of channels you want to output to a file. vgmstream dumps to a wav, VGAudio dumps to whatever you want: brstm, wav, adx, hca, idsp, etc. but if you want to dump to, say a brstm from a bfstm, it separates the data from the header, deinterleaves the streams while preserving the data, rebuilds the header to the appropriate selection, and then appends it back to the desired data which in this case could be channels 3 and 4 or whatever you selected for the switch on the command line tool.

Hey guys, is anyone willing to rip Carmageddon: Reincarnation (or better Max damage) & Killing floor 2? The 1st one has never been ripped (there's some 320 kbps version out there but I'm almost sure it's not a streamed set we'd like to get a hold of) and the 2nd one was ripped and not even transcoded (!!) but tagged (filenames were changed & OGG internal tags were added which doesn't make it a proper 1:1 gamerip in my book). Not to mention that KF2 should be reripped now if only for preservation of WEMs (original RIFX Vorbis streams) instead of rebuilding them to "normal" *ogg files which anyone's able to play back.
I'd process both titles myself but it might take quite some time as HDD space is pretty tight ATM (I mean I can't dedicate 20 GBs of free space for mere installation of Carma: Max damage). That's why I'd be very grateful to anyone who's interested in those soundtracks too and probably able to make streamed rips of those games.

BTW was is actually you Mark, were you truly the one who added Carmageddon Crashers for iOS? I didn't quite expect these 9 short tracks to have such an impact on me, I don't remember having been impressed by that Carmageddon Reincarnation gamerip nearly as much... although there shouldn't be any unique compositions in Crashers, merely recycled and abridged stuff from Reincarnation.
Anyway there's all more reason to back up that great soundtrack on JoshW! I've got a feeling that it gotta use FSB OGG too (call it a wild guess but we'll see if it's gonna turn out true or not)!

So long!
by marcusss at 11:09 PM EST on January 17, 2018
Hi Ultrafighter YES I uploaded that as it was not bad eh though a little short. I look forward to more releases.

And here is another encrypted VITA music release

Everybody's Golf

SXD1 with accompanying SXD2 files. Would be great if someone can get it working.

BTW has anyone used the Bitsquid engine script/tools to extract VITA AT9 or anything other than wav or OGG as a game I ripped uses that engine but when I use tools to decode the stream and timpani banks I get " Unknown Audio Type" error and nothing extracts, so due to being atrac9 or some other audio perhaps?? I wish it still etracted the unknown audio though..

The Bitsquid tools worked when I ripped games such as Magicka 2 for PC previously so stuck on this one...

Cheers

Hello Mark, it's awesome to see you resume ripping again! As for unplayable stuff... maybe you should try and guess codec used in bigger streams (inspect em in Hex & look for known strings / identifiers?) then rename them to (more or less) corresponding extensions and see if it works (for example in XMPlay)? Even players without vgmstream plugin can play (stereo/mono) MP3s wrapped in XVAGs or MSFs (stripping unknown bytes at file start on fly) so why can't XMPlay that's not too picky regarding extensions attempt playing formats already added to it? Do you see some analogy here or am I simply making wild guesses?
Bye!

Edit: This might interest you: Crash Time 4 - The Syndicate (X360)(2012-01-24)(Synetic)(DTP). If you like this one I can also upload Crash time #1&3 to some file host for I don't know how long it'll take for those 2 sets to appear on JoshW. If you're interested just tell me!
Cheers!
PS. Now only reripping CT2 remains in my top-priority list...

Hi Ultrafighter. I also prefer to hex edit stuff and lots of music even vag usually have junk at the beginning but lately the vita stuff all look encrypted in hex without any identifiers for example and no idea what encryption is used..unless I missed the boat on that one. Knurek did a lot so maybe he has an idea. I am just fiddling around with vita stuff as want to rip games not yet ripped. Quite a few use .psarc, some work with brink.bms script while quite a few others are encrypted from what I have come across..Damn encryption :p i might get some time to rip some old pc/ios/Android stuff soon.

I will give CT4 a listen and let.you know
