@marcusss - I think your source Vita files aren't proper, I re-ripped from a .vpk and the .sxd play fine, will upload later. Same with Soldner X2 sqs.

@Ultrafighter - (from the other thread) the .xwc bms is fine, files use a custom header (extension maybe should be .xwc). I think I can add, but I don't think those examples loop so you should upload a few regular in-game tracks.
by marcusss at 7:27 PM EST on January 18, 2018
@bnnm. Thanks for that. I will get them from another source. Cheers. My other vita rips worked fine but these don't so source is a little iffy it seems. Lol well good for us to rip more vita games as there still are stuff left to rip.

Btw i had trouble ripping Helldivers (vita), which appears to use the bisquid engine (having .stream and.timpani bank files) but the tools i used for ripping some pc games using it aren't playing nice with this vita game so maybe you have more luck. The game should have good music ;)

Thanks for your hard work as always and will use a more reliable .vpk source as I want to rip more Vita games

Cheers

Mark

so, i have a copy of this "Final Fantasy X" demo disc that was released on europe.

the whole directory of this disc goes like this:
CDROM.FID(130bytes)
CDROM.MDG(128KB)
FFXDEMO.BIN(721MB)
IOPRP234.IMG(241KB)
IOPSOUND.IRX(139KB)
LIBSD.IRX(26.5KB)
PADMAN.IRX(42.8KB)
SIO2MAN.IRX(6.01KB)

i excluded the executable and system.cnf files because said directory is stored on a folder of its own, named after the biggest file that exists in there

the point is, i want to extract FFXDEMO.BIN but i have no idea where to start. i can bring up a sample if the need arises, although my upload speed isn't too fast though

@marcusss: The Everybody's Golf rip is from which release? You said Vita so I assume it was Everybody's Golf 6?
by Knurek at 12:50 AM EST on January 19, 2018
@marcusss: I'm guessing you just uploaded the raw files from a NoPayStation rip.
Those are encrypted with Sony's PFS scheme.
You either need a Vitamin/MaiDump rip (which are predecrypted), or use psvpfsparser tool to decrypt it.

@AnonRunzes: as far as I know, Neill Corlett is about the only one who really knows how to extract even the final version(s) of FFX. I never found any tools to extract the VFS from it at least...

But here's what I do know:

IOPRP234.IMG derives from the PS2 SDK and is used for replacing (RP) default IOP modules. So that's irrelevant.

LIBSD.IRX only contains core sound functions. Provided by Sony.

PADMAN.IRX handles controllers (PAD). Provided by Sony.

SIO2MAN.IRX handles serial I/O. Provided by Sony.

That leaves CDROM.FID, CDROM.MDG, FFXDEMO.BIN and IOPSOUND.IRX which may contain the relevant information you need.

"That leaves CDROM.FID, CDROM.MDG, FFXDEMO.BIN and IOPSOUND.IRX which may contain the relevant information you need."
okay, this should give me a clue as to what i should be doing with these files. thanks.

by the way, i think i might have figured out the CDROM.MDG file. i'll be posting my progress regarding these files when i feel like it though so don't be too excited about this.
by Ultrafighter at 9:25 AM EST on January 19, 2018
@Marcusss: you should be very careful with that "cutting unknown bytes from the beginning" routine and evade it whenever possible. If we suppose that given ISO / disc contents dump is good then we'd better wait a bit for that custom wrapper \ container to be implemented to plugin and add only original streams to our sets.
Not only it's actual policy here it's better to store initial audio files and let anyone who thinks it's necessary to delete those bytes from file start (if it prevents his player from playing the file that is) do such a thing. It doesn't necessarily mean I'm all for uploads of multi-stream XWB, FSB or RWS bigfiles as it was in the past (only those original banks were unplayable on multiple occasions) but preserving 1:1 data wherever possible should really save us lots of time (because we won't have to rerip those VGs later).

On that VITA PSARC issue: maybe this will help you unpack those *.psarc archives from PSV? I was directed to it by some XeNTaX user (in "PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale" topic) and started using it recently. I've just tested it on a single (rather old) PS3 title though.

@Bnnm: This is my next pack of samples. I got a hold of another platform for Chronicles of Riddick you see.
Riddick PS3 MP3s were unpacked using the very same script (xwc.bms I also tested on X360 ver.) but more than 2/3 files (even stingers!) have audio glitch in the very end (probably beginning of the next stream or other unneeded data?). It actually sounds like split second start of the next track to me and possibly Syndicate PC BMS doesn't work flawlessly on XWCs from just any console. I might be wrong of course and it's up to coders & the most experienced rippers to find out if there's any trouble!

I reripped Afro samurai to re-obtain initial FSBs but this time I browsed through ps3.psarc with Total commander plugin (some command-line utility was used the last time I made a set for this title). Unfortunately quite a few *.fsb files (I upped all of them) have 2-3 seconds of junk sound in the end, is it fixable and streams themselves produce such an error? I can only hope extraction itself went smoothly & I won't have to re-unpack the bigfile with another program or piece of code...

@Bxaimc: "I like downloading every contribution and do a bit of auditing before it goes up".
That's the way to do it! I totally agree that's quite necessary and has to be done.

Hmm, I remember discovering text docs with ripper credits in numerous pretty old sets, is it allowed to add such files nowadays? Maybe someone wants to see his name mentioned there (accompanied by authors of scripts / tools used to extract / create streams)... Or was it allowed from the very start but users simply deemed it unnecessary?

BTW name of this set should be edited a little: "Crash Time 4 - The Syndicate (X360)(2012-01-24)(Synetic)(DTP Entertainment)" still has platform specified in its name although it's already been placed in the right section of JoshW.Info.

Also did "(!mov) Synetic.wma" from Crash time 4 play for you? I only included respective initial video, "(mov) Synetic.wmv", because WMA didn't play on my end, even in XMPlay, while Foobar played that WMV with ease.
In case you're wondering how I got all those *.wma tracks demuxed from vids (in Crash time #3-4 & 1 rips): I got WMV plugin for VirtualDub and it seems to work (but for some reason output is only playable with XMPlay) in most cases. When I used Stream editor from Windows Media Encoder 9 series resulting WMAs played in both foobar2000 & XMPlay but WME as well as wmstreamedt.exe stopped working on Win7 (I'm definitely not the only one to report this problem).
Well these *.wma streams produced by VD are still much better than VGMToolBox demultiplexed files (if you use ASF or WMV movie demuxer): the latter have never played for me as they're probably headerless.

Later guys!
by bxaimc at 11:06 AM EST on January 19, 2018
Oh, thanks for let me know about the extraneous (X360). I’ll get rid of that later today. EDIT: fixed

And regarding the WMA file: I got rid of the original one with the ! Because I saw you included the movie file so I ran it through ffmpeg and demuxed a new wma from it. Try using ffmpeg in the future for these video files, it’s very handy and probably quicker (and probably more accurate) to use.

@BX: I'll try testing ffmpeg on any future WMVs then if this tool actually outputs WMAs compatible with both players I'm using on regular basis. I guess I can be sure that it creates legitimate 1:1 streams and not transcodes a thing?

Since there's no "Asterix at the Olympic Games" rip, I've decided to go ahead and upload one. Some of it is in-game ambience. These .rws files don't loop, they just start playing from the beginning once they reach end. Ripped from the PC version of the game.

Asterix at the Olympic Games
by bnnm at 7:40 AM EST on January 20, 2018
@Ultrafighter - Afro FSB glitches aren't a bug in vgmstream, tested vs FMOD's decoder. So they are like that, or Total Commander messed up (you could try some .psarc bms).
If a WMA doesn't play ok you can try renaming to .vgmstream, this ignores the player's decoder and uses vgmstream (via FFmpeg).
Riddick PS3 uses a header like X360, fixable I think.
by Ultrafighter at 10:55 AM EST on January 20, 2018
@Bnnm: Thnx for that *.vgmstream hint, I totally forgot about such a feature although I've already encountered such files in your rips and not just once.

BTW there're PC sets available for both Riddick & Syndicate, maybe some Vorbis streams in XWC containers (?) can be found there? I guess you'd like to check out all existing platforms to make sure all's OK. It might help you completely understand that custom header you're about to implement.

Later!

Is Rock Band 4 rippable or not? It's not a request, just a question.
by bxaimc at 12:10 PM EST on January 20, 2018
It may or may not be possible in the end because of the MOGG encryption (if they're still using it, which is the reason why the other games haven't been ripped yet.)

- Dark Souls 3 (PS4) [to be sorted]

- Mirror War: Reincarnation of Holiness (PC) [this has some Sakuraba]

Note that I usually upload files as-is but feel free to blahdecrypt, whateversplit and whatsitsnamebms them or stuff.
As for me, the less effort one has to put the better, I got fed up having to hunt for arcane tools/scripts and curate files every time I wanted to listen to something, which is the impetus for most things I add into vgmstream.

The Seed (2003-11-28) (Midas Interactive Entertainment) (Artdink)
Truck Kyousoukyoku - Ai to Kanashimi no Rodeo (2000-4-12)(Metro)(Namco) ] - Currently needs this txth file to semi work. Credit to bnnm for that txth.
WinBack - Covert Operations [Operation WinBack] (2001-3-27) (Omega Force) (Koei) - Thanks to Nisto for his vgmtoolbox script to extract these (I finally got around to finishing this!). Manually looped by me as I could not find any loop point files. Don't worry, I put quite a bit of time into fine tuning these loops and have faith in my looping. Pretty cool soundtrack all together. I recommend trying it out if you like a mix of synth and D&B.
xxxHolic - Watanuki no Izayoi Souwa (2007-8-9) (Marvelous Entertainment) (Tenky) - Oh boy. This was a real pain to rip. I had to manually extract them by hand. There was no noticeable table I could see (or make sense of). You might see some files like 00 + 01. These technically are two different songs by in game standards. I grabbed the IDs while the music was playing in game and somehow these would normally loop at certain spots. I don't know how the game handled that so I did not split them. For example, certain whole songs (such as 00 + 01)had two sections in them. One for continuous loop, and the other to end normally. Don't worry, nothing is missing. I simply couldn't find an easy way to split them.
Zipang (2005-5-26) (Bandai) (Artdink) - These files should loop, but the MIH data doesn't appear to contain loops at all?

X360

Kameo - Elements of Power [Prototype] (-)

Enjoy!

I have a request for anyone who wishes to fulfill it. I really would like to hear the PC version of Teitoku no Ketsudan IV's music. There is a PS2 version but its not of the greatest quality.

Hey BX, can you please post exact keys/options/settings for demuxing *.wmv (or videos in general) with ffmpeg.exe? As I promised I started using it when I stumbled upon WMVs\ASFs again and I'm currently getting used to it. It'd not hurt however to have the most legit CMD keys for proper demultiplexing (maybe FFMPEG will come in handy when dealing with some other movie codecs not supported by VGMT's demuxer).
Regards!
by bxaimc at 3:13 PM EST on January 22, 2018

@Bxaimc: I used almost the same commands but apparently "-vn" key wasn't in the right place and I wasn't quite sure that demuxing results were actually 1:1 streams, not any kind of re-encodes by ffmpeg.exe. It's all fine now and output WMAs can even be played in FB2K (but extension change to *.vgmstream is still required). You'll find those tracks in Pyroblazer set.

@Marcusss: BTW I highly recommend that score to you because it didn't sound like an original soundtrack for a futuristic racing title (not to mention that it's Wipeout or Extreme-G styled one!), IMHO Pyroblazer's music would fit any modern RPG perfectly (sic!). It might be not as diverse & atmospheric as your typical Divinity album but their staff composer still did really good job.
That's why you should try it out; this rip gotta appear on JoshW... in a few days I suppose.

I'd also like to point out that utterly hilarious score from Chaps and the Ring, you'll be able to enjoy this one even if you don't understand a word in songs (there's just 3 of them anyway) & speech from all the vids remains totally cryptic to you.
Do you remember that Dawn of magic 2 gamerip? It had a composition with vocals too, it was an absolutely legitimate song and pretty funny too (kinda ironic ode to standard heroes & recurring stereotypes of the genre). Anyway check out xb_*.ogg tracks there, believe me they're all unique and such stuff is nowhere to be found (even in this game's sequel which I'm planning to rerip but can't find an ISO these days).
Also mg_#.ogg ones are nice especially if you like rockabilly & surf rock. All in all it's a relatively long soundtrack considering its filesize & pretty humble bitrates for streams (it's 100% Vorbis if you're wondering).

Till next time!

Edit: Hi Bxaimc, I've just stumbled upon (2011-07-06)(Pipeworks)(Spike).7z]a set with an erroneous name - shouldn't it mention XBLA instead of PSN?

Thanks Ultrafighter. I will give the samples and your rips a listen. Cheers. Yeah DoM was good. I like when some games have some tidbits or fun voiceovers ingame or hidden which are easily found when we rip the game.

A few iOS rips with more later..

* Strain Tactics
* Space Maze Beyond Infinity.

I think you will probably like Jydge music as it is a spinoff from Neon Chrome (top down shooter) and has many types of music but yeah music from Jydge, Neon Chrome and Time Recoil are from same artist likely. Wish was higher than 128kbps but it is mobile afterall and still sounds good. Probably you will like my rip of Gravity Crash for Vita as has some funky music.

I will make time to listen to your rips and give some feedback ;)

Ahh sorry but it is a spinoff from COmmando arcade game and has 8 bit style music atrac3. Interesting iOS using at3 music as I didn't see it much.

You probably like grid music since it is more pumping racing car music. The game folders are a mess though with folders in folders (I tried to keep them in 1 folder but not practical). Also had more than 1 main archive for music so just be prepared for lots of music and jingles although the music IS good.. and also some webm files contain music and play in vgmstream but i can't separate the audio from the heavily compressed video so I left them in webm folder for now. At a later date I can rerip if I know how to.do it..but for now they still play with vgmstream

Will grab them shortly. Building up for the nice big weekend update of all the new rips.

PS2

Neon Genesis Evangelion 2 - Evangelions (2003-11-20) (Bandai) (Alfa System)

Unfortunately, some of the songs are missing due to them not being able to play in Foobar. I believe the sequences in question use some sort of unreadable command. I noticed this in SFX music and evidently, most of the ones that are missing are SFX based songs.

As promised, more!

Android

Salamander HD Remaster (Interestingly, this game was never released..... officially, at least (the leaked release is a quick google search away!). Curiously, this remake is based on the NES version of Salamander/Life Force rather than the original arcade release.... still, a shame this never got a legit release.)

PC

100ft Robot Golf (This one was packed full of voiced commentary tracks..... I tried sorting it out best I could, but several of said commentary tracks had music mixed in there as well, so this was the ultimate result)

Artifact Adventure

Conduct DELUXE!

Hyperdrive Massacre

The Inquisitor

Mimic Hunter

Minimized

Minimized II

OK K.O.! Let's Play Heroes

Tomato Jones 2

PS1

Brave Prove (Hopefully, this is all the music.... it took me a good while to put together these PSFs. Unfortunately, these still aren't timed, either. I can upload the source files later if anyone wants to redo the set, though)

Galaxian^3 (Mainly cutscene audio, though with music mixed in)

Ghoul Panic

Enjoy!

Hey BX, it's awesome to ultimately see my last rip batch on JoshW so thumbs up on the work you've done to check out all those packages! I'm wondering however if you put both my Cobra 11 PS2 sets in a single archive...
Granted there might be very little info on one of those titles (not to mention actual proof of its existence) but still both games looked like different ones to me; well one reused some radio tracks from earlier one but these VGs had their own names for initial bigfiles & pretty varying filesizes. IMHO All this looks like quite a difference; I might be wrong though.
Later!

@Ultrafighter: I just combined it. They’re basically the same game just regional differences, right? Also I've got to ask: what's up with all of these Russian games anyway?

Also, whoever uploaded:

-D.i.R.T. - Origin of the Species [Eva Cash - D.I.R.T. Project] (PC)(2006-11-08)(Nu Generation Games)(Tri Synergy)

-Dead to Rights II [Dead to Rights 2 - Hell to Pay] (PC)(2005-08-15)(Namco)

Please reupload them. They're corrupted.

Also, @marcusss, would you mind reuploading
Broken Age (2014-06-12)(Double Fine) iOS

it's also corrupted. thanks

by Ultrafighter at 4:31 AM EST on January 28, 2018
@BX: There's nothing wrong with Russian games, some of them simply have BGM I might be interested in and require a more thorough rerip & making of a proper streamed set (I ripped most of them earlier but it doesn't hurt to redo something, it's especially welcome because back in the day I didn't know a thing about retaining 1:1 quality & only saving original streams).
And why should such titles (even those never published abroad, like original Oniblade (not X-Blades) or Chaps and the Ring) be considered inferior to any other VGs? There might be some nice scores there too, I daresay a few of those are forgotten gems which didn't deserve that at all.

I knew there was something wrong with D.i.R.T. - Origin of the Species as filesize here appeared to be twice bigger than it should have been, I had to reup the set that day and not wait for you to point out that mishap... Anyway both rips have just been reupped, not a single disconnection this time around which is good.
Oh and you might want to replace older movie tracks in "Dead to rights 2 (PC)" set with newer ones, demuxed with FFMPEG (there should be "Some movies redone with FFMPEG.7z" in uploads folder too).

Till next time!

Uploads:
- Dragon Quest Builders (PS3)
- Enkaku Sousa (PSP)[re-rip, plus proper subtitle]
- The 3rd Birthday (PSP)[re-rip]
- Final Fantasy Type-0 (PSP)[re-rip]
- Final Fantasy Type-0 Demo -Natsubi- (PSP) [this has some beta tracks]
- Mirror War - Reincarnation of Holiness (update) (PC) [they added some songs]

Also here is the intro of DQ Builders Vita (now supported, there is a dupe btw)

FFT0 extralong vids have music (and spoilers) I promise, including one exclusive version of the theme song (see file9808 ~12:40).

Mirror War bigfile had Oggs, I think the originals used in the .FSB. They are here if somebody feels like wading through.

@bxaimc - can you rename them PSP sets for great justice:
- Shining Blade > Shining Blade (2012-03-15)(Media.Vision)(Sega)
- Valkyria Chronicles 2 > Valkyria Chronicles 2 [Senjou no Valkyria 2] (2010-01-21)(Media.Vision)(Sega)

FF XV, why thanks. I hope they dump the updated music and DLCs, good stuff too.

@bx

Thanks for your recent work. Last week's update had a 3ds set that isn't downloadable afaik.

100% Pascal Sensei - Kanpeki Paint Bombers (2017-07-13)(Konami)

Unless there's a special browser method I don't know about, the % in the title causes issues. The current issue also affects ichigo 100% for the ps2 but i have that, so once upon a time it didn't cause problems.

@anyone
I've tried different browsers and tools. Does anyone know of a solution to this that isn't too complicated Or maybe the issue is related to a change in the server configuration?

Thanks

I hope the FFXV(PS4) set doesn't have cancerous "tagged filenames" that plagued my Xbox 360 re-rip of Sonic '06 and shit like that. I'd be sad if that is indeed the case.

Something doesn't play right with the battle themes on this rip. There's always this really loud rumbling noise almost completely drowning out everything else in the music. At least I THINK it's battle themes. Whatever you can hear kinda sounds like it.

It COULD be my version of vgmstream but it'd stil be weird. I use the r1050-627 version. Should Probably update that, anyway.

Edit: Sounds like there are parts missing from Battle 3 too, for instance. It has a really short intro. The file makes the song star at the part at 0:08 in the video I'm going to link to. And there are two files of it. The second one has the song start at 2:23.

It's the same with the Saturn Rip.

@ Ultrafighter..I assume you uploaded a few of those racing games and xb360 stuff etc? Thanks as I will give them a listen today perhaps but there are so much vgm this batch to listen to. Haha

BTW, I was mortified when I saw my 2 y.o son bathing in bathtub while giving my expensive audiotechnica headphones a thorough wash & rinse. I almist cried 😂😭😨. Luckily after a few days of drying out they still work perfectly. I know they are basically leather and magnets but I thought it might be a gonner..so I am happy I can still enjoy vgm listening !!!

@Bxaimc: Mirror for D.i.R.T., maybe it'll work... BTW I've just tested that archive and 7-Zip found no errors (I was worried that file itself became corrupted but apparently it's not the case).

@Marcusss: Probably these are my sets you're talking about but it'd be better if you listed some of them for me to identify. Anyway just 'cause I ripped or reripped lots of racing / car combat VGs recently it doesn't mean it's gonna end here, there're still lots to come so monitor that VGM HCS frontend from time to time!
It's good to know that your headphones seemingly survived that bathing and you got away with a tiny scare-off (as they say in my country). And wow, I'd never even think there might or should be any magnets in headphones, he-he; one learns all his life I suppose (or should the proverb sound like this: "you learn as you live"?).

For those who upload directly onto vgm.hcs64.com, I request a little favor from y’all. Would you guys mind tagging your name onto the upload pretty please? Makes it easier if I have to chase someone down to ask a question regarding whatever rip I’m looking at or give ‘em a heads up about a corrupt/incomplete upload. For example:
blahblah (Switch)(2018-01-29)(dev)(pub)[bxaimc].7z

Thanks!

Man these PS4 games are annoyingly large. Look forward to some more rips coming, guys including Gravity Rush 2, FFXII Zodiac Age, KH2.8, and a few others (provided I don’t run into some difficulties).
by marcusss at 5:59 PM EST on January 31, 2018
@bxaimc : Niiiice.. Hopefully they all aren't hard to rip or unplayable. Well support will be added later I guess like the ones packed in .pck or the current wwise formats using adpcm ? that are unplayable (static sounding)

Good luck
by bxaimc at 8:08 PM EST on January 31, 2018
Usually Wwise on PS4 use either Vorbis or ATRAC9
by ChillyBilly at 11:19 PM EST on January 31, 2018
Got a few more PC goodies:

Botlike: a robot's rampage

Fallen Legion+

Flow: The Sliding (40+ tracks of really nice music here.... a strongly recommended download!)

Gun Rocket

Supersonic Tank Cats (Another fun soundtrack![/url]

Even more to follow soonish!

So bxaimc, have you looked through those files yet? Sorry if I'm seeming a bit pushy, I've just been waiting a while.
by bxaimc at 12:14 PM EST on February 1, 2018
Having a tough time finding that jingle. I haven't played the game (it's on the shelf), but is it the same simple win/level up jingle from all the other FF games?

@bxaimc - It's like the classic FF battle end jingle, see PSP's last file0x. Maybe you could post the packs and mariofan12ify will help finding it.

Anyone taken a look at FFXII PC? Seems to use the same archive format as FFX/X-2 PC did...
by bxaimc at 6:41 PM EST on February 1, 2018
Haven’t taken a look at it but I am looking at the PS4 version. It uses the same music format as FFXV so I have no doubt the same will be found on PC

@Knurek, I've got the files but just like the PS4 version, they're not cooperating with the current support. Hopefully it can be fixed.

A couple more rips.

The music from Hearts of Iron IV is by Andreas Waldetoft‏ again. I have liked his music since Stellaris.

Hearts of Iron IV (2016-06-07)(Paradox Interactive) Mac OS X

Beat Cop (2017-03-31)(Pixel Crow)(11 bit studios) Mac OS X

Some more later on perhaps.

Mark
by Knurek at 12:39 AM EST on February 2, 2018
@bx: I'm guessing it's just MP3s in Square containers, since Virtuos seems to have a boner for that format. :)
by Ultrafighter at 6:03 AM EST on February 2, 2018
Hey Mark, I can't help wondering if you are interested in music from racing games in general or simply in specific kind of scores for such titles (like soundtracks from GRID series or that Crash time epic created by Synetic).
If the latter assumption is correct you may like Motorsiege (this set is still hot for I ripped it less than a week ago and it was added a few days ago). It might be not as breath-taking & slick as Ian Livingstone's works but it's still nice.

And if you tried this rip and liked it I can offer you much more VGM from the series (I reripped entire franchise a week ago but didn't post it anywhere because all earlier installments weren't ever published in US or even EU, I figured out that gamerips from those off-road driving simulators wouldn't quite fit here and it's unlikely that anyone else's interested in them anyway).
There're quite a few instrumentals in each installment in the series so that you may like many tracks from that franchise (you see Off-road drive had abnormally high percentage of songs without any vocals, it's like 75 or even 80% of its soundtrack).

And of course I'll try and rip some racing titles from time to time and add them to our Streamed Music Archives so keep an eye on that VGM frontend!

But let's talk about your rips too, shall we? I see you switched to ripping Macintosh ports of VGs, needless to say it's quite commendable and having more versions ripped & backed up here would never hurt. We have lots of PC rips available everywhere but it's very rare for any ripper to process not just Windows ver. of the title (and sets for Linux OS are probably nowhere to be found).

What can you say about checking out ports of Tom Clancy's Splinter cell: Conviction or Deus ex: Human revolution one day? Surely there's no ETA & I don't wanna seem pushy (both should be quite big soundtracks and not very straightforward to rip on any platform) but it'd be splendid to have those gamerips here (if only for completeness sake). I'm sure I'm not the only one who really likes those original scores and would like to obtain as many versions of them as possible (possibly higher quality is used on MAC).

Or (if you haven't completely abandoned iOS yet) I'd suggest ripping Scrap metal some day (I've just found out there's not merely X360 version of this videogame). The game in question doesn't simply have some lackluster and rather short "typical vehicular combat" soundtrack, this title was scored by composer of all Killzone games(except Shadow fall) and should be much more distinctive and interesting. What do you say?

Bye!
by bxaimc at 7:57 AM EST on February 2, 2018
@Knurek, even better. It’s HCA. :)
by marcusss at 8:20 PM EST on February 2, 2018
@ Ultrafighter : Hope you have been having fun with all that ripping?? Thanks for the rips and I already downloaded most of those racing games and others you uploaded. The crash Time music sound great. I will try to find time to listen to Motorsiege. I saw Motor racer and destruction Derby were uploaded also and want to hear them again as I always played those on my psx a long time ago.

I do like racing car music as much as any other genre, as long as it sounds good. The Grid series sound good although different to Burnout 2 or NFS Hot Pursuit but I enjoy the music. I always loved the music from Fatal Racing also on pc when I had my first PC. It was called Whiplash also. I am not sure if it was ripped yet..but it had midi and some other type of music or even cd also If i remember correctly but the game rocked hard ! It only worked in win 98 I believe..back when soundblaster was the bomb. Lol

Moving on.. I will listen to some more reccomendations of yours today too. So much music released these days hey?

As for Mac OS X well yeah sometimes I see games on ios and also mac os x and usually the mac osx is better quality like pc is over mobile I guess but not always.

Some recent rips seem to be higher quality than pc.like Torchlight 2 for example or more tracks so it is worth investigating further. I ripped Hollow Knight for Mac also and appears to be higher quality than PC and each track has its proper name as well so will upload it tonight. I will rip some more and let you know how they sound. I hae Conviction and also Double Agent for Mac so will see how they sound.

Talk soon

I've got some more PC goodness to share! Though I apologize in advance if a few of these rips still have SFX mixed in there.... I kinda rushed it with some of them. So, without further ado:

Beans: The Coffee Shop Simulator (Fun chiptune soundtrack! Recommended!)

Edge of Space

Full Metal Furies (An example of the aforementioned rushing.... I didn't even have time to split these FSBs (which I know is unnecessary thanks to the vgmstream updates, but still))

Hidden Dragon Legend

Maze of Adventures

My Time at Portia

Nemo_Do

ShineG in the SeaFight

Sideway: New York

Tales of Hongyuan

Tesla vs Lovecraft

Transcend

TZOMPANTLI

Vesta

Warring States Tactics

Weird Hero

Wulverblade

Enjoy, guys!

* Dungeon Keeper Gold [Mac OS X]

* Hollow Knight [Mac OS X] - Nice music and Mac version has tagged tracks compared with pc. Larger size than PC. More tracks ?

* Settlers II Awakening of Cultures [Mac OS X]

More later..

@Mark: Yep VGM ripping is mostly fun & easy and I'm surprised myself that my urge to continue this insane making-of-streamed-sets spree / reripping those forgotten generic titles hasn't faded out yet. It's especially interesting to come back to some titles which I didn't process properly back in the day or couldn't find a single track in bigfiles (or make found BGMs playable / decodable).

I'm glad you liked Crash time soundtracks, I mean those 4 installments added to JoshW already (or have you grabbed CT2 set already before BX even had a chance to check it?). Anyway don't miss Crash time 2 (A.K.A. Alarm for Cobra 11: Burning wheels) PC rerip, it might appear this weekend or a few days later.
If you got yourself so immersed in the series then I can always add Alarm for Cobra 11: Nitro rip (I don't like it as much as CT 1-4 OSTs but it'd be good to have it backed up here for completeness sake).

Hmm Fatal racing is a relatively well-known title, I've definitely heard about it & maybe tried to rip it eons ago but don't remember a thing about it, he-he. It was at least a decade ago when I was trying out each & every score from a car combat game I could find (this mostly means getting copies of said games and ripping them by myself), quite an effort but well rewarded in more than half cases...

And Double agent for Mac sounds pretty interesting and promising too, I'd like to listen to rip from that platform too so please don't abandon it (if only for some very good reason like super-hard ripping procedure)!

Regards, Ultrafighter.

@Ultrafighter:

Sorry, but please stop doing this:

01=07.ogg
02=13.ogg
06=16.ogg
08=14.ogg
12=15=19.ogg

Just get rid of the dupes but you don't really have to mention it.

In other news, weekend update coming up soon!

Hi Ultrafighter. I will upload some more later. Looking forward to those released of yours I see in the queue due to be released soon! Crash Time is good and has some metal and hard core music in there too I see but they usually go well with car games.

I managed to get the music from Splinter Cell: Double Agent (mac osx), but has that large ss0 stream file so as far as I know, it can only be opened with that ubidec decoding/convert app which I used to extract all the music pieces in .wav and then I FLAC'd them..but it is like ~ 1.5GB lol. Is there any other way to get the music or this is the way for pc/mac versions of splinter cell?? I can always give you a link to it since it hardly qualifies for an original vgm release since being converted to .wav but it sounds good so I am sure you will want a link to it? I guess like the tmnt game it will be unofficial but this time the music is all.there not 1-2 sec bits like TMNT had.

I will upload some more rips later on tonight and look forward to the next batch of rips.

Great update bx.

More PS4 releases and good to see old PS1 rips as well besides the others.

Btw can you fix a small error i seem to have made with the naming of the settlers II?

It should be "The Settlers II : Awakening of Cultures" I could swear I spelt it correctly but being 3 am when I uploaded it I am sure It was a mistake on my part. Sorry

What I'm curious to know is where bgm_ff_theme.orb in FFXV plays...
Grandia OST (PSX) and Brawlout (multi) by RetroFanatic at 1:11 AM EST on February 5, 2018
@bxaimc - That...doesn't make sense. IT'd be quite a major change. For a song to start at the last part (last third of it or so) of it when you play a file from the archive is just strange.

Number two of the files I was talking about. Guess it's too much trouble to fix (and tag) all files in that archive.

Could be that most songs in that archive are made up of several smaller parts. Annoying is what it is.

Edit: Another question...or rather, an assumption. As I can't find Brawlout on the site, it's not possible to rip the music yet?
