Paper Mario - missing Boss Battle theme by Zerodius at 9:54 AM EST on December 8, 2005
I just noticed a slight problem with the Paper Mario soundtrack... about the Lava Piranha battle theme.

There should be two battles themes, one for the first form and another for the second form... but only the second form theme is there.

I've read the form info and it says to be wary of a variation with the wrong pitch.

My comment: Did you played the game? That famous "wrong" version is the first form's theme!

I've tried to find the old preliminary set in order to get the first form's theme in there and then submit it to the site... but well, the old preliminary set was deleted.

So... can someone fix that issue?

I have the old preliminary set, and will update it to reflect this as soon as I get the chance.

Thanks for pointing it out, I'm glad it wasn't something altogether missing.

Thank you...

... err... just noticed yet another problem that, for some ill reason, forgot to include.

The second unused "Story of the Stolen Stars" music is actually used in the game!

The first part of this theme plays during the ending, just after Bowser's castle exploded, when the Star Spirits carry the characters back to Peach's castle safely.

All the other unknow music themes are not used, I believe.

Anyway... I think that's it. Thank you for your time.

"I've read the form info and it says to be wary of a variation with the wrong pitch."

I remember seeing this mentioned somewhere, but I'm unable to find it. Could you point me to it, or tell me which files (in the prelim naming) are the two in question?

And what title would you recommend for the second unused "Story of the Stolen Stars"? Could you tell me the exact filename of the one you mean so I don't get it wrong?

The name for the Lava Piranha Battle theme is "2-11 Go! Mario! Go!"

For the second unused "Story of the Stolen Stars" (original name:"unknown 4" I believe), I'd recommend "s77 Return to Princess Peach's Castle".

Well, I hope I answered your questions.

The name for the Lava Piranha Battle theme is "2-11 Go! Mario! Go!"

Ok, but what's the name for the other version? I just checked that and 2-10 against the OST, and it all sounds the same as the USF. Maybe I misunderstood your complaint... what would you have me do there?

I'll follow your advice for that "unused" track, though.

Actually... the first form's music is NOT included in the OST, only in the game.

The other version has no name ; it was deleted from the main USF set on download.

What would there be to do?

This: Include the missing track in the available USF and rename it to something like "2-11a Go! Mario! Go!" or "2-11 Go! Mario! Go! (version 1)" while the other one (the one currently included, the second form music) is renamed to "2-11b Go! Mario! Go!" or "2-11 Go! Mario! Go! (version 2)".

I don't know if I have been precise enough or not... but well, anyway.

Ok, I think I know what you mean. It's been updated, let me know if it looks (and sounds) right now.

About the soundtrack, can someone take the songs that are not from the OST and mix them into the others? I'm not sure about the order of the songs.

I'm also sure that there is one more tune from the Koopa Village radio that is missing from the rip

I don't know about the order, either, but I'm happy to leave it the way it is now.

As for that track you think is missing, do you mean s30 - Club Song.miniusf? That was in among the radio tunes in the prelim and sounds like about the same quality.

Checked the updated soundtrack... well, everything is fine now, thank you for listening.

As for the Koopa Village missing track... I checked and well...

I believe that the tracks for the Koopa Village are those:
-Before the Fuzzy Boss Fight (in the OST)
-After the Fuzzy Boss Fight (in the OST too)
-Koopa Village Radio Song #1 (in the extra tracks)
-Koopa Village Radio Song #2 (in the extra tracks too)
-Koopa Village Radio Song #3 (in the extra tracks there as well)

Well... I think that all of them are there.

Looks like the soundtrack is pretty much complete and fixed now. As for the three remaining unknown tracks, I think they really are unused tracks in the game (the first could be a Forever Forest warning song used in the beta, the second is definitely the Chapter Clear fanfare beta version and the last is the beta version of the introduction theme).
