Playlist tag problems by Tanookirby at 11:02 AM EST on December 20, 2005
Something is wrong with my 64th note Plugin. When the Donkey Kong 64 usfs are on the winamp playlist, they are not listed as game title and name of song. How do I fix that?

Are they tagged?
Also, the default behavior is to use the file name as the title if any tags used to make the title can't be found. So if the game name and track name aren't specified in the tags neither will be used in the title.

They are in fact displayed in the tag.

Here's something you may not have thought of. Did you add the album (or any emulated audio for that matter) to Winamp's media library? If yes, Winamp will ALWAYS (which is HUGELY annoying) defualt to the information stored in the Media Library, if it does not have proper ID3 tags (which of course xSF files don't). Even if you have that option turned off (look inside Winamp's options > Media Library > Library options > Advanced Library Preferances (modify button) > "Use Library title information for Playlist Item Formatting." I have that unchecked), it will still use the Library titling info, unless you ALSO uncheck Options > Titles > Advanced Title Formatting "Use advanced title formatting when possible"

So far as I've seen, this is the only way to get the titles to display properly, when you've added the *.xSF files to the Media Library. Hopefully, that will make a difference. If you haven't added the files to the Library, then you'd need to check the settings fo 64th Note itself.

Options > Plug-ins > Input > 64th Note > Title Format (at the bottom). The box there should read "%game% - %title%" Also, I have checked "Default to file name on missing field."

Does this help? If not, is there any more info you could provide to help clarify/remedy the situation? Good luck with this, and hopefully it is resolved soon. Mouser X out.

really in_usf needs to implement the winampGetExtendedFileInfo(..) function export so that the ML can query it for given tag information (with it then just returning the relevant tag information as needed).

then if tag writing is wanted then winampSetExtendedFileInfo(..) and winampWriteExtendedFileInfo(..) exports can also be implemented.

if hcs needs some help on these then i can give some pointers / example :)
