What is the format of this audio file? by Puck at 3:59 PM EST on March 8, 2013
Hello,

I have a file from a Wii game which presumably contains a bunch of audios. The problem is I'm not sure what format the audios have.

Do you guys have any idea?

This is the file in question:

The file size seems too small to contain audio. What game is it from?

What format is usually use for Wii in-game sound effects?

DSP

Well, I've tried the DSP tool to convert to wav but I don't seem to get a playable audio.

Winamp with vgstream simply doesn't play the files.

Perhaps it is missing the header.

I believe the pointers of each audio are located almost at the end of the archive, but I can't get to figure them out.

What format other than DSP could these files be?

I have a file from a wii game too (super mario galaxy 2) which i think contains some songs in it here it's in an szs format, how would i go about extracting this?

The file is from the Sparking Neo Wii game.

But how knowing from which game is makes any difference?

i will need to check the game. Does the game have a folder with a name related to audio? that's usually where audio is stored.

and its peronm(L)s

No, the game uses .afs to store most of the DATA.

Just by checking the file above there is no way to like scan it to play the audios inside?

Each audio inside should around 8-20 kb

I'm kind of looking for a way to rip the special effects sounds, which are really awesome in this game.

afs? Then scan it with psound

It is a Wii game .__.

Is there any audio scanner for Wii games?
by peronmls at 4:09 PM EDT on March 19, 2013
psound can scan afs. Unless its a coincident that its a whole other kind of archive with the same extension. I only ever extract Zelda GC/Wii games. So don't know too much for Wii/GC. Just giving my thoughts.
