I recently stumbled upon the awesome PC Engine music archive on this site, but am unable to figure out how to access the HES files. I tried downloading an HES music player for Winamp, but could not open the .dll extension. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

for winamp, use nezplug++

oh and you have to put the .dll in winamp/plugins, if there wasn't an .exe installer that came with it.

Thanks for the help. Now I get the tracks and the lengths in winamp. But when I try to play them, I get a message saying that the raw file already exists and it doesn't actually play. The .dll automatically went into the "input" plug-in section, but nothing in "output."

sounds like you're trying to write to mp3/wav instead of playing back the audio.

the plugin should only appear in "input" btw. make sure you have "output" set on DirectSound and then it should play normally.

if it's not this though, then I'm probably forgetting something about the HES format or nezplug...
